  1. When he went to Boro and then when Keegan tried to get him. Both were high profile bids, well the second one certainly was.

    Out the Door

Agree with this. Those players above are good enough to get us to a steady top 6 and push for Europe. Fill the gaps with similar quality and we could sneak 4th. It would cost millions and would take a number of years, by which time Barton & Colo would be getting on and they would need replacing too. Pop in a few duff signings and it becomes virtually impossible to compete IMO. Plus we will probably lose a few players too. Quite depressing really. jonas, nolan, taylor, simpson and williamson could be in there as well. Think williamson,s. taylor, simpson should be kept as back up. ranger out on loan for a season or 2 As backup, yes, they are not players good enough to get us competing at the top, whereas Tiote, Barton, Colo, Caroll and HBA are. Certainly wouldn't sell them.

  4. http://www.guillembalague.com/blog_desp.php?titulo=Ask%20Guillem:%20Toon%20Targets?%20Arrivederci%20Forlan?%20Big%20summer%20transfers?&id=544 GUILLEM SAYS: Surprisingly, Newcastle were thinking of signing Jose Angel from Sporting Gijon - a left-back who is only 21 and would be a replacement for Jose Enrique. He`d be a great replacement as well because I think he is going to be one of the best left backs in the country. Apart from him, I don`t think Newcastle have shown much interest in signing young targets from Spain.
  5. Hehe spurs fans looking like idiots. Article is quite funny but obviously a joke, which the comments below by spurs fans fail to realise. http://threeandin.com/2011/01/21/harry-redknapp-is-making-things-small-time-at-spurs/
  6. Not very, one report said we would offer £12m.
  7. No, nobody seen that, post it up here, along with the picture with the lineswoman with the Henry and also the Villa joke about Young and Bent, don't think anyone has seen those either.
  8. Adam Campbell makes the reserve squad for the first time against City according to .co.uk. http://www.nufc.co.uk/articles/20110126/young-side-for-city-trip_2281670_2277086 Who is the mop head in the picture btw?
  9. I know its talk sport but the vultures are starting to circle on this lad. http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/football/premier-league/transfer-rumours/4779/6/ac-milan-eyeing-shock-swoop-newcastle-star
  10. Of course the question "What does 'SEB' mean?" is SEB in itself. Try reading beyond the 1st page of posts or using the search facility before you post your messages to avoid this. Not registering over there just to search like, you sound like a mackem tbh. Ah, sorry about that. I just copied the whole thing from RTG. I did wonder. Thanks for that.

  12. Don't see Ireland and Barton as the same at all, Barton needs to be deeper so he can spray some of those lush through balls around like he has all season. Ireland can play further forward in the Nolan role. Would love to see him here, yes he is a bellend, but so are plenty other footballers. Still only 24 and quite the talent, just needs nurturing a little. Can't see any other players around that age and with that ability that would be available and willing to join us so why not. Tiote Barton Jonas Ireland Ben Arfa Caroll Is a cracking front 6.
  13. What do they mean when they post SEB? As in this post http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=563386
  14. You can't blame Barton for the relegation man, hardly played the last part of the season.
  15. I'd have Ireland here in a shot to be honest. Has the potential to be a much better Nolan. Just like Nolan and Barton were s**** a few years ago and have come good, I think Ireland could be the same. Barton Ireland Tiote Jonas Ben Arfa Caroll Lovely. Means we could pick and choose the games Nolan plays and rotate him and Ireland. I'm sure Ireland could play right side too, for when Barton is injured or more likely suspended. The key is always having Tiote in the middle, Barton and Ireland in the middle would be woeful against all but the poor teams. Tiote opens us up to being able to have a player like Ireland in the middle.

  17. To be fair to Smith he was excellent at Leeds. The games changed now though.
  18. Number two is a yellow card and free kick to the opposition. They tested that with a ref on a TV show over here called "Golden Goal", falls under "unsporting behaviour" or some s*** like that. Red and penalty.
  19. Yep, red card, should know better. Has a lot of learning to do.

How long was left on his Marseille contract?
  22. We had a bigger gate than so called world famous club Liverpool on the day in question, why do you fail to mention this? Because Liverpool are going through a bad spell, their worst in over 10 years and Sunderland are going through their best in 10 years. Simple.
