  1. Noticed yesterday that SPL (Shearer Promotions Ltd - or something like that) is not on his private box anymore. Has he given it up?
  2. We need strikers and defenders not goalkeepers. And the club say we have very little money to spend. Idiots if true.
  3. I hope that now Allardyce is in London, that the media will wake up to the fact that he has been conning them for years.

Absolutely agree. And I don't understand why the club don't seem to have any comprehension of the damage they are slowly doing to the club. They need to keep the people of this city interested in NUFC because if not, we are not Man Utd or Liverpool who can fall back on the overseas markets and tourists to keep us going.
  5. Well as the players are learning, if you don't accept the first offer .....
  6. He's been wearing 4 but the numbers have not yet been confirmed.

Tait, the former head of Academy recruitment, has joined Frankie Bunn through the exit door at the club’s Benton base. And the Sunday Sun understands two other coaches have left the club this summer. Bunn joined Rochdale as assistant manager only six months after getting the job of Academy coach to kick off an exodus of staff. All will be replaced, though, with United holding interviews with two candidates to replace Bunn this week. The Academy has been one of the areas where owner Mike Ashley has looked to invest since seizing control of Newcastle. In one of his rare interviews as Toon boss, Ashley said that he wanted United to become the ‘Arsenal of the North’ and on his watch Andy Carroll was given the chance to go from an Academy kid to England international. The club have also spent considerable money bringing in top foreign talent. Haris Vuckic, one of those big money signings, is set for a big role this season. But there have been some high-profile flops too – with the likes of Aaron Spear, Ben Tozer and Fabio Zambelera all failing to make an impact.
  8. That'd be mint like, after all that's gone on. Sadly, McKay talks s***, and ITKs aren't usually right. We'll see. Barton will sign. Everyone is happy. We will then sell Colo. Fan unrest and Barton kicks off all over again.

It also shows a lack of understanding of the club and supporters. If you get the supporters onside , give them some hope and excitement then a momentum builds which would generate more revenue for the club - seeing as that seems to be the only thing Ashley is interested in. If you keep telling supporters that we are unable to compete and just have to hope we can stay in the league, then more and more supporters will drift away and more money will be lost.

Well that would be one way to get a load of players off the wage bill because they would be queuing up to leave.
  11. At the start of pre-season, Pardew said he was not going to name a captain until the start of the season and that he would name a different player to be captain for each pre-season game. Then he very quickly named Colo as the official captain so I wonder whether he feared that Ashley might try and sell Colo and thought that if he made him captain that would deter Ashley from selling 2 captains in the close season. It would send out a very poor message if he is sold and cause even more unrest.
  12. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2023285/Valencia-tempt-new-Toon-skipper-Fabricio-Coloccini-Champions-League-football.html Valencia tempt new Toon skipper Coloccini with Champions League football By Ben Lyttleton Last updated at 10:11 PM on 6th August 2011 Newcastle United's tricky pre-season could get worse as new captain Fabricio Coloccini is considering an approach from Valencia. Coloccini was given the armband after previous captain Kevin Nolan moved to West Ham, but his agent has claimed he is keen to play Champions League football for the Spanish team. 'Valencia are insisting on signing Coloccini, but Newcastle have just named him captain, which is something that hasn't happened before,' said Fernando Lombilla. 'So it's very complicated. They love him in England and he even has a song they sing about him, which lasts a few minutes. 'But in a sporting sense, Valencia is a bigger opportunity - and they're in the Champions League. 'Therefore, there will be a conflict between the emotional and the professional.' Boss Alan Pardew has a lack of cover at centre-back, with only Steven Taylor and Mike Williamson competing to play alongside Coloccini.

Every time they communicate they antagonise the majority of fans - they're that f***ing thick on the PR side of things that I'm happier when they shut the f*** up tbh. A perfect example is today's pre-season friendly which they could have used for some healthy PR and made the game really cheap and about getting as many people, particularly kids, through the door as possible. It rained anyway so probably best they didn't ( ), but yeah they're f***ing thick and any communication that comes out sounds arsey and antagonistic and ungrateful and authoritarian, so I'm in no rush to hear any more from them. The trouble is they have lied so many times, how can we believe them if they start to communicate honestly. Mind you Llambias can never refuse the opportunity to criticise the fams whenever the chance arises - not so shy of putting his name to statements then.
  14. If Krul is the number one, it might calm him down. It seemed at times that he was trying too hard to impress last season.
  15. It will be all thanks to Big Sam though, nothing to do with having players that are way too good for the division (still surprised Nolan didn't go to a bottom half PL team). http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2022843/Sam-Allardyce-Ill-turn-West-Ham-winners.html Some typical quotes from Allardyce: 'They were desperate to sell Blackburn for many, many years and my satisfaction comes from the fact that I created so much interest in the club again,' he says. 'I know it sounds like I'm blowing my own trumpet but I might as well. Mourinho does it all the time and everyone loves him. 'I created such a vibrant football club that there were four or five who wanted to buy it, having never shown any interest before. I was producing profit with results.' 'But the proof of the pudding is what happens to a football club when you leave. What happened to Limerick when I left? They went down. What happened to Blackpool when I left? They went down. What happened to Notts County? They went down. What happened to Bolton? They nearly got relegated. What happened to Newcastle? ted. What happened to Blackburn? They nearly got relegated.' But how did he persuade Nolan to even consider dropping down a division? 'I think it's past history,' he says. 'Kevin was bitterly disappointed that I didn't take him to Newcastle. It was virtually impossible at the time because of the animosity between me and Phil Gartside (Bolton chairman). If I'd tried to buy him the price would have been £12million, simply because it was me. 'I thought I only had an outside chance of getting him here but I was aware there was a bit of discontent because of what appeared, from a distance, to be Newcastle's lack of appreciation towards him. But I think our past relationship counted for a lot. I was the manager, at Bolton who really started him off, brought him through. So there's some mutual respect there, built over those years.

So they were hoping that Fergie would be Enrique's replacement after all.
  17. I heard a discussion about Cabaye on the radio with one of the French journalists when he first joined us and remember them saying that the season before last he scored quite a few goals and they compared him to Lampard but that last season, he was played further back and so scored far fewer goals.

Not sure, the ronniegill gadgies are usually gone when i make my way home at 6. They moved the printing down to Teesside so I think they only do one issue a day now. I thought that was just temp due to a technical problem at Newcastle. Not according to this article. http://www.holdthefrontpage.co.uk/2011/news/trinity-mirror-to-axe-26-jobs-in-north-east-on-black-day-for-industry/
  19. Journal this morning says he's out: "The midfielder has been withdrawn from tomorrows friendly against Fiorentina and trained with the development team yesterday but the change in tone from Newcastles furious reaction to his Elland Road Tweets was marked. And, while Pardew chose his words carefully, it is clear that his personal relationship with the midfielder is repairable." The club have become quite adept at being selective in what they say - usually you find what they say is true but they have omitted key information which would alter the scenario completely. Again using Enrique as an example, yes he has been offered a "lucrative" deal but that does not look quite the same as implied when Enrique himself says it is the same deal as he was already on.
  21. If the players are voicing the same concerns as the fans and they are not addressed by the club then I fear for this season.

Not see the following bit in any other articles yet: Sportsmail understands Barton’s frustrations boiled over after discussions with team-mates about some of the incidents that have happened during pre-season and, significantly, Pardew admitted that preparations for the new campaign have not gone as he would have planned. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2022594/Alan-Pardew-speaks-Sir-Alex-Ferguson-Joet-Barton-Twitter-fiasco.html

I guess it is a new experience for Pardew the way Tyneside slumps into a massive depression when we start fretting about what is happening at the club. I also think he will be very uncomfortable with the criticism being thrown in his direction as he strikes me as someone who wants to be liked.
