  1. What went on at leeds? Wouldn't believe a word coming from Beardsley these days.

    Alan Pardew

Bet he is not looking forward to his next press conference.
  3. Whether the stories about Barton refusing to play or rowing with Pardew are true or not, such stories will be fed to the media in order to quell fan disquiet and try and turn them against Barton. They have done with it with Keegan, Shearer, Given, Nolan and Carroll. It is Barton's turn now. I think it is interesting that the odd player comments seem to be supportive of Barton. He was certainly a favourite with the younger players.
  4. Wonder if he always carries around a book of quotes with him.
  5. How are we off for English/homegrown players? Barton, Nolan, Routledge and Campbell and potentially Ranger, Perch and Forster all out and being replaced by foreigners. It looks to me as if the only English players in the first team will be Taylor/Williamson and Simpson. Are we making the quota up with the kids? Last year we had the joint highest number of English players with Villa.
  6. I think each player should be judged on merit. Yes it is probably good to have a wage cap but there needs to be flexibility.

Yet you've gladly sing Hughton's praises? Pardew is an absolute cretin but him and Hughton are both distinctly average mangers. Distinctly average? His acheievements suggested otherwise. I certainly rated him higher than average ability wise where as he was an outstanding decent human being too, the kind you always want associated with your club rather than cretins, f*** ups and absolute mugs like the likes of Pardew et al who infest every f***ing aspect of our once proud club. I cannot wait until the day the likes of Pardew are long gone from any chain of power at NUFC. The man doesn't deserve to be called manager of Newcastle United, a position not so long ago Sir Bobby proudly held. It's easier to sing Hughton's praises because he was top bloke, Pardew isn't. However when it comes down to result they did a very similar job in the top flight. Apart from Liverpool for obvious reasons, Pardew's failure to take three points off any team that wasn't still in danger on the last day should be a very loud alarm bell. Tactics are about getting more than the sum of the parts out of the team and Pardew has proven himself to be miserably bad at it. Results like going to Goodison and the Emirates and coming away with three points will never happen under this man. The less said about his impact on team spirit the better. He has absolutely decimated it. All of our best performances came under Hughton with the exception of Liverpool at home (Pardew's first game) which the players said was not down to Pardew and the Arsenal game post Carroll where you could argue that was Barton and Nolan who dragged us back into that game. Pardew picked up points against the lesser teams against whom we had lost earlier in the season but with average performances.
  8. Highly doubt he'll be involved, then again wasn't Saylor involved after being transfer listed Different manager though.

He would come out and say that a player is correct to criticise the club in public? He needs discipline in the dressing room more than anyone. What? Never said that, never alluded to it either. Decisions being made above his head, players being sold. It happens at most clubs, but on this scale is insane. They're making him out to look like an idiot with all his 'staying' comments. Carroll isn't going anywhere, then he's at Liverpool. Nolan is his captain, now he's at West Ham. Barton's in his plans, now he's on the transfer list. They're making a fool out of him and he's just sitting and taking it. Exactly. How can the players have any confidence in the manager? His opinion either does not count where the board is concerned or he is saying one thing in public and something else to the board. He is purely there to coach the team and to try and keep the fans onside and deflect criticism away from the board.
  10. his contract expired.....don't think he has played left back since his days in Argentina. Even at the scum he was played as a left winger...but these days as a central midfielder for the smoggies. Close friend of Colo.
  11. How come it is only our club to have the misfortune to suffer such footballers!!
  12. Get rid. Well he is yet to sign that 5 year contract he was close to signing weeks ago.
  13. So if he does leave on a free, does that mean they will have to dip into the Carroll money to compensate for the loss of the transfer fee.
  14. I am worried and disillusioned, Maybe we will outplay the lesser teams we struggled against last season but at present, I see no way that we would come back in games such as the Arsenal 4-4 and I am not sure whether the team will have that steely resolve that they have done in the last 2 seasons. Could finish top half, could be relegated - no idea until the season starts and we see what kind of squad we have.
  15. If he doesn't invest in the playing squad then the business side will suffer as it is the football that dictates the success of the business. I am worried. I think we could have a good season but there are too many ifs and buts. We need new arrivals, players to stay fit, the team to gel, no suspensions, the board not to make any more cock-ups and to improve their relationship with the players. I just don't think we will be that fortunate. I worry that we will get off to a poor start and spend the rest of the season trying to recover.
  16. Well, as always, it has made the papers, local and national. If I were on the verge of signing, I'd be mad not to have second thoughts whether his utterances actually reflected reality or not. Utterly irresponsible, and helps no one. Cheers Jezza. Players talk to other players. How many times do you hear of them speaking to players who have a connection to a particular club to find out more before decidiing on a move. If the players are unhappy, whatever Barton says on Twitter will make little difference to potential new arrivals - they probably know what's going on anyway. It is just the supporters who remain in the dark.
  17. Except Ashley hasn't "raked in" anything, he's been subsidising out losses out of his own pocket. Losses due to his own stupidity which he now seems intent on making the club pay for. Christ help us if we go down again because fans will desert the club en masse. I know that has been said before, but many have already rapped in and I suspect plenty others are on the brink. It's support that the club may never claim back in the future, even under a new regime. Remember reading somewhere (perhaps on this board) that Ashley has always been very adept at making others pay for his own mistakes. I also know of people who have been going to games for 30-40 years who have now had enough. I think many will continue to drift away whilst Ashley remains as they continue to alienate too many supporters and they either have no idea or little care about trying to win them back other than making false promises. I love NUFC but I don't think we are a very likeable club. It may suit Ashley to run the club the way he does but all he is managing to do is to continue to damage it and who knows whether he actually realises this or if he just doesn't care. If he is here for any length of time, I think the damage could be irretrievable.
  18. Agree with this and when we were relegated last time, it wasn't because of the lack of talent in the squad but because of what was going on behind the scenes and poor morale and a lack of leadership within the team.
  19. Was saying the same to a friend today. There was no evidenceof the promised improved style of play to get us off our seats.
  20. Aye, proper strange It was like he saw a long lost friend in the crowd. Btw, some Leeds fellow in the wetherspoons on Park row was giving out cards for a Newcastle forum: www.n-u-t-z.net/forum , i would get him telt Dave, stepping on your patch. He said in his interview on nutv that his family were there and after the goal he was looking for them but couldn't find them. Makes sense because it really looked like he was trying to find someone in the crowd.
  21. The players seem to think they need to splash is across twitter and they are the ones who feel hard done by for some reason. The problems they have with the club should be sorted inside the club and they clearly aren't. 3 of the players are complaining that the club are or have been bullshitting them, they are either saying it or as good as doing so by backing up what others are saying. If the club want this to stop then they need to talk to the players and sort things out, banning twitter doesn't solve any problems, it just hides them. It does nobody any good while we have players who are p*ssed off. Moving the players on just allows the problems within the squad to remain as they are, at best. Or allows the problems to grow and grow which will not end well. Agree. The regime needs to sort out the issues because as you say moving players out won't solve the problem - the remaining players will probably end up even more dissatisfied. This was where Nolan came into his own - holding it all together - not sure who will be doing that now.
  22. Used to think he was alright, but since his move back down south he's become a complete utter t***. He is still based locally = just switched to the Telelgraph.
  23. It is a lack of respect to a player who IMO is owed a great deal by Ashley. His determination to keep the players focussed and the supporters onside because the club was more important than any one individual contributed hugely to our promotion and to keeping things on track whenever the regime decided to throw a spanner in the works such as the Hughton and Carroll situations when things could have got difficult. I hope he gets a good reception whenever he returns to Newcastle whether at SJP or socially in the town.
  24. Here's another food related one with John Arne Riise and Morgen Gamst Pedersen. digg!

He turns up for training on the verge of being late and he plays with toy guns. If only he broke another players jaw. Very little would have been said, in fact the club would have covered it up and pretended nothing had happened. He's unprofessional at both training and away from the club. At least Carroll was performing, I'd also argue that you can't compare the two situations at all. I'm aware you will as it suits the point you're trying to make. How is he unprofessional away from the club? Yes the gun pose was daft BUT 1 incident is unfair to label him unprofessional away from the club At training the issue is that he arrives just on time and leaves as soon as his time is up, again that is no big issue I guess Pardew just doesn't want him.
