Cabaye rested again ffs. Must be injured then. danking11 Dan King Subs: Joan Edmundsson, Greg McDermott, Brad Inman, Aidan Grant. Cabaye is rested with view to Leeds and Fiorentina games danking11 Dan King @ @beno_simmo500 Went cycling with the lads this morning so he's fine, just can't afford him getting injured at the moment

So "IF" he has been fined £100k as suggested and we know that players can usually only be fined a maximum of 2 weeks wages, then Jose must be on £50k a week. According to Alan Brazil this morning, he said he had been told on very good authority that Jose had been offered a 5 year contract on £50k a week which if true means that Jose is right and he has not been offered a payrise.

The two are evidently inextricably linked. They are..Btw, right now all our stars are happy, except Enrique. We don't know that - maybe they are just keeping quiet about it.

Pardew is clearly putting out misleading messages man. Claiming we've offered Enrique a massive contract offer for this club. Enrique saying that they basically havent offered to increase his salary atall. You realise this means that Pardew is trying to present the idea to us fans that Enrique is lucky they didnt offer him a reduced salary, following being one of the best players for our club in the last couple of years. And you cannot see the BS ? What I read from the quote is that Pardew claims the club offered the best deal available to anyone (which probably means the same as Coloccini) while Enrique claims it is "not just about money". "They offered me money which I already have" could be interpret as "I got money but my ambition isn't fulfilled". Not blaming Enrique, just I think it is ridiculous that the club offered "reduced" wages to him. Can't be true. Well they initially offered reduced wages to other players before e.g. Barton, Taylor.

We must be losing a significant amount of potential revenue because the SD advertising around the stadium is so extensive. Are they just filling in the gaps because they cannot get any advertisers interested or are they not interested in trying to attract them?
-
I think Pardew's job will be pretty safe as long as he tows the party line regardless of the grief he will get from the fans. If he goes, it will be because he gets us relegated or has had enough. I've got no time for Pardew but his replacement would be another out of work, desperate and cheap manager so I cannot imagine that he would be replaced by someone better.

The thing is everyone knows Ennrique wants to go so other clubs are going to wait in the hope of getting a better deal for themselves. If the buying club waits until 31st August before acting, what will happen about getting a replacement - will they say they didn't have time when they have known for 7-8 months that he wanted to leave.

How long ago was it since they announced trying to sell the naming rights. Obviously there has been no interest unless they intended it to be SP@SJP all along. Bit by bit, they are destroying our heritage and as I have said before, the longer they stay and the more they continue to alienate supporters in a one town club where most of the supporters are based, the more irrepairable the damage will be.

I think the players do make an effort to keep things inhouse. There have been many arguments between the players and Ashley/Llambias and most stuff stays in house. Nolan always said this was important to give the club an appearance of stability. The trouble is this helps the hierarchy because it is the players who get accused of a lack of loyalty or being greedy when they decide to move on. The sale of Carroll was the breaking point because I believe he did not want to leave and the other players knew that as well. When you have players like Given, Nolan and Jose who have been very happy at the club wanting to leave because they are not happy with what's going on, then they can't all be wrong. The circumstances may differ but we only ever hear one side of the story.

Still not sure what the point of painting SD on the roof was. OK people in the Leazes and L7 see it but the TV cameras rarely pick it up and when they do, I think it is only noticeable to people who know it is there anyway.

Phew. Congrats to Simmo He said previously that the baby was going to be born on 15th August so I hope everything is OK.

I heard they had split up but they are now back together.

Agree with that, Matt Taylor has been pish for a while. Typical West Ham signing if ever I saw one! He's been a shadow of the player he was since he got glandular fever last year. Idiot fans booing him didn't really help his confidence either. Similar to Scott Parker with us. He got glandular fever towards the end of his first season with us and never really recovered his form after that.

It was a different French journalist - Xavier Rivoire (I think) but how gushing was he about Cabaye. If he is half as good as he said, we will have one helluva a player.

I would have thought that even when tickets went on General Sale, the box office would have taken names and addresses as occasionally the Box Office might need to recontact people but even then, I would have thought they had a responsibility to know who they had sold the tickets to. Obviously that is not the case when it is pay on the gate like at Darlington.

Hopefully this guy can give us an update next time he's online. The following was the response to the same question about Cabaye. danking11 Dan King @ @craigynic Tidy, set up Barton's goal by winning possession and clever pass, although he also gave the ball away for one of their goals

They need the Carroll money incase the club is fined!

Brazil transfer window ends Tonight so no time to make a deal. Or is it? I'm surprised this transfer hasn't received more attention. City will be desperate to offload the player, if for no other reason that they've got to start trying to maximise their income with Financial Fair Play kicking in. However, it's difficult to get a big fee with the player saying he wants to be closer to his family in South America. Then we have a Brazilian club offering a fee which is nearly four times the South American record - a sum that would have been considered totally out of their reach before. City announce that the deal is done, only for the Brazilians to withdraw, saying that it may get revived in January, presumably if the terms are right. I can't be the only one wondering what's going on. I heard that from next year there is a big TV deal in Brazil and it was that money that they were planning to use to buy Tevez but as they have not got it yet, they wanted to defer payments until next year.

The Times are saying that Liverpool's spending is on hold for the time being as they need to sell before they can buy again.

Just been listening to Total Sport from Monday and they mentioned in passing that there was going to be a NUFC channel on Freeview. Not sure if that is the "big" announcement as it is not charity-related

Was the day I realised I really never would see us win any thing. That was a rotten week. Went from Lisbon to Cardiff for the semi-final and then Norwich.

Don't know about City but the journalists seem to think that while Liverpool rate Enrique going forward, they have concerns about his defending.
-
I think Colo is a good choice because all the other players seem to have huge respect for him. Barton, Nolan and Harper have all spoken very highly of him.
-
I wonder if Arsenal are genuinely interested whether they will wait until just before we play them to put in a bid? It might unsettle things a bit.
