I have decided that Pardew has classified him as "weird" due to his strong religious beliefs.

I think the protests have given the club a kick up the backside which was sorely needed to shake them out of their complacency so I would say they have been fully justified even if the original aim has not yet been achieved. Certainly the club seemed alarmed enough by them to go out of their way to thwart the protests. We will find out in due course whether lessons have been learnt but hopefully some will have been. Surely the club and Pardew must see the positivity arising from recent results and from the introduction of the younger players and try and build on that (wishful thinking maybe) otherwise dissension will return soon enough.

I agree with you basically, but it's not just about who would manage us, it's also about who Ashley would approach and (more importantly) pay for. I heard something or read it recently where a journalist said that when the club were considering Pardew's position last season (probably not seriously) that Koeman was on their list. Who knows if that is true or not but if it was, it is quite reasssuring to think that they might consider looking elsewhere than out of work lower league managers.

Don't know if it has been mentioned that West Brom fans also held up a flag for Liam and John which was a nice touch. There was also a Cabella song yesterday which was to the tune of Crowded House's Weather With you. "Cabella" sung at the "Weather with" point but I can't remember the rest of it.

Sick of the media saying the fans should apologise to Pardew. Can't remember Pardew apologising to the fans for his poor performance this year.

They were saying on the radio last night that he has a 4 year contract as does Guardiola. And because the people now running City were previously at Barcelona that they think that is who they want as the next City manager and the length of contracts tied in nicely. If they decide to get rid then they have a problem because the preferred candidates would be unlikely to be available this Summer (Ancelotti being another one). They were also discussing the apathy shown by City fans to the Champions League. Several phoned in to say they weren't interested in the Champions League and that anyway, UEFa had an agenda against them to make sure they did not progress!!!

Getting irritated with all the media saying the fans were wrong and we should apologise to Pardew. We have had two fortunate results against Swansea and Spurs and a deserved win with a team that everyone (and I expect Pardew as well) thought would be well beaten. It is too soon to say we have turned a corner - we may have - but you need a good few games before that conclusion can be reached. I want to see the first team starting to play with some flair and intelligence. We had a glimpse of that in the second half against Spurs but that is all. At the very least the Sack Pardew campaign has shaken Pardew out of his comfort zone so if this run continues, then they should be applauded for that rather than criticised. The 8 year contracts were made on the basis of stability but they also breed complacency especially if the manager thinks he is untouchable. I think he genuinely thought he might get sacked and that was due to the protests. I still want him gone but if he is going to stay then he should not be allowed to get too comfortable in his job.

It is what Pardew does though. He repeats something until it becomes accepted as fact.

Even if he comes back in January and plays every game for the rest of the season, he will not be Pardew's saviour as he is going to need games to get fit and will have to adjust to the league.

Can't get too excited about transfers when the club says they are going to stick to their tried and tested formula. If we in a serious relegation battle come January, how would a bunch of young foreign players make a difference when we don't even trust the young players on our books as it is. We will not have the time to allow them to "adjust" to the league. We got away with it last time but we were in a better position back then.

He must have a plan because we must be a cash-rich club now and he can't leave all that money showing in the end of year accounts and then plead poverty saying we have to sell before we buy and finding new ways to cut costs. Maybe he is planning to repay some of the loan, maybe it is going to be pay for the redevelopment of the training ground. Although if we go down, it should cover the losses incurred by relegation.

TBF to the Fan's Forum, the tone and detail of the discussion is not conveyed in the minutes. I would hope that those attending were tougher in their questions than it would seem from the minutes but the club are always going to be vague in their responses. And we know that there is no way they would hold these forums if they were not a UEFA requirement.

Taking credit for a solo goal now? About the only thing Pardew is good at - bigging himself up. It always ends up being about him. Just like Allardyce. When the team does well, it is because they listened to him and when they don't, it is because they have ignored his instructions.

I wonder if any agents say to the club when they express an interest in their players that there is no way they will let them join NUFC having witnessed how other talented players have regressed under Pardew.

But why? The money saved will be peanuts. They don't like bad press but they go out of their way to rub the press up the wrong way. It is just so incredibly petty and pointless and yet another example of how mean-spirited and spiteful this club has become. I have often wondered why the journalists don't get as equally petty. They say that one of the club's issues is that the newspapers don't pay for access but you could argue that the club do get a lot of "free" advertising so I think the print media should make a point of never referencing Sports Direct in their articles and only use photos from away grounds so Sports Direct is not present in the background (which is an impossibility with photos from home games).

I'd say our support is still fervent to the extent that it's very much part of the weekly routine, discussed everywhere at length including by old grannys in the street and people still turn up in their tens of thousands to watch a team that's got f*** all chance of achieving anything under the current owner. It might not be vocal but that's because they've got nothing to shout positively about. Easier to sit tight and do their 'duty' and then meet their mates in the pub afterwards before walking into the town to get lashed. The s*** football was a minor inconvenience during a day/night out. That's totally different to football and football fans in the south/south east imho. Do they love their clubs any less? No. But the demographic is totally different in so much as the 'match' isn't woven into all elements of society in the way in the way it is in the NE, including Sunderland. I think there is a common misconception when pundits etc refer to our "fanatical" support and other fans take exception to that label. As you say, it is not that we as individuals love the club more but it is the intensity and fervour created when virtually every one in this city supports one team. Whether people like football or not, they are still aware of everything that is going on related to NUFC and it will probably affect their lives in some way whether they personally like football or not. (I remember years ago, a girlfriend of my brother who was not interested in football would always check the score before deciding whether to come around on a Saturday night because if we lost, my Dad would be in a bad mood). I like it when you overhear conversations in a shop talking about the football and you know they are talking about Newcastle or when an old lady will come up to you after a match and ask how "the lads" got on as will all the shop assistants. No need to ask "which team". That doesn't happen elsewhere. When I worked in London, everyone in the office interested in football supported a different team. That meant that the limited football conversation was very different from up here where so much of it is based around NUFC. I would say that during every conversation I have with an acquaintance up here, there will be a point when the latest goings on at Newcastle will be brought up. When the team does well, local businesses benefit from that and productivity improves. On a Saturday night if the team has played well, there will be a great vibe in town and people stay out and drink longer whereas if it is another defeat, people tend to go straight home. This is why it is different up here. Do I support Newcastle more than another club's supporter? No. But having lived all over the country including cities like Manchester and London, I have never experienced anything like how the performance of a football team affects the rhythm of a city and the people that live in it as much as Newcastle United does.

I wouldn't be surprised to see us concede 8 or more in some games with our defence.

Noticed the stewards outside each turnstile at the Gallowgate. They weren't there before the Hull match so definitely there to thwart any SackPardew.com protests.

Its not a pension, its a bonus. The pension were removed going off what that article said. In this day and age when people need money this f***ing vulture flies in and picks the f***ing bones dry. All that f***ing TV money that has vanished and he wont even give a few hundered employees (who are most likely on low wages) a pension. What a c*** of a man.
