erm isnt that a good thing? or you think will take more than 4yrs to lower the debt? It's that time between that's the unbearable part. Sorry if I wasn't clear, I was implying its going to take him some time lowering that debt (which at current rate, would take a few years imo) before he sells up, versus something quicker. If he was just going to write off most of the debt "debt owed" to himself and just sell the club at what he bought it for + some premium, I'd see a deal happening sooner than later - but clearly he wants the full investment returned less any debt he's paying down to himself. f*** him. I think he should write off the money he had to put in when we were relegated as that was down to his idiotic decision-making that season. Someone on here once said that with regards to Sports Direct, he always makes sure someone else pays for his mistakes so I guess we are the ones being made to pay or his NUFC ones.

I think our policy is not to buy any players unless a "purple" leaves - too much hassle this transfer business. Just don't know why they bother with the whole charade. Would we really have bought Aubameyang if he had wanted to come here or would it have ended up being delayed with us trying to sell other players first. We "supposedly" were prepared to pay £10m for him - the same as for De Jong last Summer so what happened to that money or is it being saved for next Summer's elusive striker target.

Except when fans sing he is a FCB then he gets all precious and disbands the singing section.

I think the local press will be going for it big-time once the window closes.

Really starting to think that Joe is literally getting paid to take stick instead of Pardew I think that's absolutely what it is. He comes in takes all the flak. Does anyone remember the days when anything NUFC wasn't some huge conspiracy? Ashley runs it like the f***ing mafia. What flak? Outside of here and social media theres nowt really What about the banner? The chanting? I'm not sure what else you think people can do? He doesn't go to the games as he'd get roundly abused. There were also some chants at the Fulham game although they didn't last for long.

Silkman has been on the radio this morning saying that a Premier League club have said they might be interested in one of his (out of contract) players on a 6 month loan. He said he would never have thought of suggesting x player to that club but they have failed in all their striker targets. Could be us?

If he does end up staying, hopefully he will take the attitude that he needs to play well this season to show that last season was a blip and to ensure that he is in the French World Cup squad. If he has a good season, he will then probably get his move as a club may offer closer to the asking price.

I bet Pardew is fuming though and of course he will have to be the one that will have to try and put a positive spin on it.

Considering Ashley runs a tight ship financially, what is the point of wasting money employing Kinnear and paying all those travel and accommodation costs? He is happy to sack staff who are doing a good job to cut costs but then waste money on that joke.

From the Mail: 'I try to score a special goal in every game,’ said Ben Arfa. `Against West Ham I tried a lot but they all ended up in the sky. ‘I have been practising more with my left and I have two weeks now to work on my right. If you want to improve you have to work hard every day. ‘It is fine for the fans to have doubts but the players cannot have doubts. If we start thinking too much and having doubts you end up down and don’t hit your best form. We do not doubt, we just try and try. ‘I am very happy here, especially because I am healthy and fit and I am doing good things. I try to do my best and I hope everyone comes to the stadium to enjoy and I will try to make everyone happy.’ http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2408494/Alan-Pardew-guard-Yohan-Cabaye-decision-set-to-wire.html

In the programme yesterday, Steven Taylor says Tim Krul is the least intelligent which is a bit rich but then in the feature where they ask players to name their dream line-up of players they have played alongside, Krul's backline is Danny Simpson, Boumsong, Colo and Raylor The rest of his team is Cabaye, Milner (!), Sneijder, Van der Vaart, Robben and Huntelaar.

His name was also sung briefly as well - the Robert song.

It concerns me when the press are starting to be as outspoken as this because it makes me think that things are even worse than we are aware of because they will undoubtedly know more of what is going on behind the scenes than we do.
-
And with Pardew bigging up Elliott saying that he has proved that he is a Premier League goalkeeper ............
-
Crossed my mind too whether it is a genuine injury or whether they are expecting a bid. Hate how cynical I am these days.
-
None of the local journos hold back when referencing Kinnear. I am kind of surprised they are so willing to show their utter contempt for him as DOF.

Lee Ryder @lee_ryder 21s Transfer deadline day: NUFC will try for Demba Ba on loan if Gomis bid falls through http://bit.ly/17fQFdl #NUFC Expand Lee Ryder @lee_ryder 1h #nufc aren't trying to sign both Gomis and Ba. The pair have just emerged as targets from a transfer meeting yesterday involving Kinnear We are obviously getting desperate if the above is the case as they obviously have not managed to come up with any alternatives.

Just looked back in the thread and PSG publicly wanted him prior to his West Ham horror show. Was that tweet about end of April? Early February, she subsequently dismissed it as a joke. Someone must have told her it was getting some discussion! I think she subsequently deleted it but it was definitely there and got some air time on here. Remember people talking about it now you mention it, ties in with the PSG interest and his lack of form too It was during the Villa match after he scored that goal. A friend tweeted her MU or MC?

I heard the same - think it was probably Radio Newcastle but not sure.

It seems odd that we are only interested in recruiting from France. Carr does scout in Holland, Belgium and England as well. Being cynical here, it occurred to me with the Sports Direct advertising being in French in the ground last Saturday that perhaps we are trying to maintain our profile in France whilst Ashley develops his brand in that country.
-
Is he the French equivalent of Harry Redknapp?
-
This has evolved into the kind of situation that Ashley loves to exploit. Disaffected player who is either refusing to play or is being stopped from playing showing that a problem exists within the club. Ashley would be hanging in there monitoring the situation in the hope of getting the player for a knock down price in a take it or leave it offer. Arsenal won't pay anything like what Ashley wants especially for a player they don't particularly need. If the club is preventing Cabaye from playing then and then trying to say he is the one refusing to play, it could cause upset amongst the other players. It happened with Carroll when other players were angry about how the events of that day played out and Enrique used it as a reason to leave.
-
I won't judge the player either until we know (if ever) the true facts. He has always been praised as a model professional up until now. Also, most of our players leave under a cloud and I think that is often engineered by the hierarchy to deflect any criticism.
-
Agree. Invest in a good manager - one that is able to develop players - and the benefit would be huge. As well as a better team for the fans to watch, just think of the improved profit Ashley could make on player sales!!!!!!!!!!!
-
The Arsenal fans I know just can't understand the move for Cabaye at all. In terms of other priorities, cover in the middle etc. Strange one. It's the same with the ones I know as well. They see him as a squad player.
