If Cabaye has to leave, I just want him to go a foreign club. Would hate to see him excel at another English club.

If they are going to bid for him then I wish they would just get a move on. There is just no reason for them to wait.

If PSG are interested, I wonder why they have not made a move as yet - can't be because they want to save a bit on the wage bill by delaying the deal - unless of course discreet negotiations are already taking place. Blanc says that he "read" Spurs were interested so they might not be. However, I wonder who would blink first in negotiations between Ashley and Levy.

Ashley is taking money out of the club. Well that is the logical conclusion.

I'm now of the opinion we're not signing anyone this summer. Kinnear doesn't want to strengthen the team and potentially Pardew's position when his only concern is getting back in the dugout. And I don't imagine the owner is too upset that his mate Joe is telling him to put his wallet away. That will probably be Bent as Caulkin got to know him very well when he was up here and has kept in touch.

If JFK really wants to be manager and expects to take over when Pardew goes, it's not in his interest to help him then. Could he really be that manupulative?

We definitely need a striker at the very least even moreso if we are prepared not to play Cisse if there is no resolution to the Wonga thing. If we don't buy a striker, we will almost certainly be relegated as there is no way we can rely on Gouffran, Shola and Campbell to provide sufficient goals and anyway Shola is unlikely to stay fit for more than a game or two at a time. Despite how incompetent we appear to be at the moment, I just cannot believe Ashley would ultimately be willing to take that risk. The problem is how long will our supposed targets hang around for. If other clubs come in for then, I don't expect them to hang around for Newcastle to decide when they are going to actually put in a bid. With regards to selling players, if any other club came in for Cabaye, I would expect they would be confident of getting the player so they know they can take their time. If we are waiting to sell before we buy then we could run out of time. I just don't see why we can't afford to spend some of the TV money like every other club is doing so. No-one is asking them to spend a fortune but just buy the players we desperately need and anyway, they keep telling us (when it suits) that we are financially strong and don't need to sell any of our players.

I just don't understand what Ashley thinks he is doing. Surely at the very least he wants us to stay in the Premier League preferably without getting as close to relegation as we did last season and somehow keeping the supporters interested enough. He is also supposed to want to develop the academy so we start producing players for the first team and develop first team players presumably to sell for a profit. However, his decision-making is undermining all those things. You want a younger and progressive management and coaching structure but he keeps hiring dinosaurs that have no history of developing a club in that way and would produce a struggling team that would turn even more supporters away. Considering all Ashley seems to want is to protect his investment, he is doing everything to damage to it. He may not be that knowledgeable about football but he is supposed to be a fan and almost every football fan would say hiring such personnel will not progress the club at all. I cannot fathom it out.
