Miles Starforth@milesstarforth Tim Krul, still in his kit, just walked past the mixed zone on crutches. #nufc

Not quite buying into that.

I guess until we are safe, Pardew will go with the tried and tested partnership of Colo and Taylor and then I would expect MYM to start some games with Taylor.
-
Agree - my heart sank when I saw the ref reaching for his pocket because I thought he had a good chance of a red. Very lucky to get away with it. Thank goodness he did get booked otherwise he would probably have received a retrospective ban and we need him on the pitch for the rest of the season.

None of that makes sense. Guess they were just saying things they thought the fans would want to hear. They kept saying last Summer that there had been no offers for any of the players and then when they didn't bring anyone in, said they had to work hard to keep them. Cabaye was supposedly disappointed that we turned down offers yet probably at the time, was still expecting Debuchy to arrive. The one thing you can give them credit for is that it was pretty much kept in-house so everything is speculation especially as they seem to tell a different story to different people.

Familiar complaints from West Ham fans on the Talksport phone-in: - Player x has no legs - Midfield is too slow - Went to a struggling team and played not to lose - Bought a player last month who has scored 4 in 4 in reserves but not even in squad - Hitting the ball long all the time instead of trying to play on the ground Remind me who their manager is!!!
-
I expect Levy would. Whether anyone would pay it is another matter.

Mark Douglas@MsiDouglas See @EveningChron for excellent Llambias exclusive. More in Journal 2mor courtesy of yours truly. Some really interesting stuff still to come

because they're really lazy and its easy to just say Carroll to newcastle than actually do any kind of research And probably because Lee Ryder keeps writing that we are still interested in bringing Carroll back.
-
I wonder if this is in response to the Chronicle saying we are still interested in Carroll which found its way in to several nationals - I guess this story has evolved in the same way. Liverpool are supposedly reluctant to sell Carroll to us so maybe this is them suggesting that is the only way they would do a deal. However, they are constantly saying they are skint despite spending a decent amount on each player they are bringing in (the media keep saying they have to sell to buy). I think the only way this would happen would be if they sold Suarez as I don't think they would be able to afford him and even with Carroll in part-exchange, I would think the balance due would be well over £20m.

The loan boys are have an incredible experiences this season. Good - League Cup Final Newton & Dummett - Scottish League Cup Final Inman - likely Johnson's Paint Trophy Final. They've all played in front of big attendances as well. There were over 30,000 at Coventry last night for the Crewe game. Newton, Dummett and Inman have all had long injury lay offs but with all aged around 21, will they get a chance with us?

Tottenham Hotspur vs. Newcastle United - 09/02/13 @ 12:45pm (Live on Sky)
Wallace replied to Fenham Mag's topic in Football
its not daft- we can give anyone a game playing like that. I dont think I can ask for anything more than that tbh. No it's not daft. Chelsea playing like they did yesterday would have beaten most teams. So yes. It's time for Spuds to be a mite more concerned about us that they would've been a couple of weeks ago This is exactly the sort of unfair advantage Wenger was talking about. I almost feel embarrassed that we made perfectly legitimate transfers during this window, completely exploiting the being allowed to sign players rule. We are scum basically. If we pick up points at Spurs after beating Chelsea, I am sure Wenger might feel a bit kinder towards us as we'll be doing Arsenal a big favour in their chase for a Champions League place. -
How does Fernandes know what we were offering - he only has the player/agent's word for it. Job A - Offered £40k, Job 2 - Asked what salary looking for - take a chance and say already been offered £80k, employer 2 says they'll match it.
-
There's no point in booing as it seems to motivate him. When Stoke fans did that, he got a hat-trick.
-
I think that is the same agreement they had in place last Summer but a lot of what Sullivan says is rubbish anyway. I thought West Ham might cool their interest because he has had two injuries since he has been there that have kept him out of the side for several weeks. He came off the bench in their last game which was his first game back so I wonder if he will stay fit for the rest of the season. I would have thought he has not done enough to justify the fee Liverpool want and his wages. Also West Ham don't seem in any hurry to renew Allardyce's contract so he may not be there next season and the next manager might not want Carroll.
-
Ba came on as a sub in the final minutes and he usually starts from the bench anyway.

I think the Chelsea game is supposed to be on AM this weekend. Was wondering whether the match will also be on DAB, as the radios I've looked at don't have AM. When both Newcastle and Sunderland are playing at the same time, the home matches are on AM and DAB and the away games are on the FM frequency. Frustratingly, the FM frequency and DAB radios do not work in my flat.
-
Listening to the BBC Radio Newcastle podcast of the game, Steven Taylor says that all the new players had to stand up and say why they wanted to play for Newcastle at the meal the evening before. Not sure if that is a new thing as I have not heard of them doing it before. Sounds as if they had a blast (although Saylor always speaks in hyperbole).
-
Maybe we should get some of their coaches over to run our Academy.
-
Thank goodness for that. Couldn't bear to watch it after the penalty - just been pacing up and down the living room since.
-
Marveaux was due to play instead of Jonas but has picked up an injury according to Mick Lowes.

Paul Lambert also saying in the Birmingham local press that they were after him but could not afford him.
