  1. Fulham don't have a rubbish ground! They've got an Archibald Leitch designed stand, for a start! For my money, bland, retail park holes like the Reebok and the JJB are the worst in the league. Interesting point about teams that don't give you a reason to dislike them. I was thinking maybe Reading, until I read your point about Hunt's hair, at which point I did one of those vinegar-face expressions, sucked my lips, and said "oh, yes, forgot about that".
  2. Villa Newcastle Everton Fulham Man City --- 12 other teams in some random order --- Chelsea Man United Birmingham City
  3. And the person who mentioned Savo .... firstly, he only cost 3.5m. Secondly, he scored 29 goals in 85 league matches. Hardly brilliant, but one in three is hardly flop territory. Eh? EDIT: Quoted completely the wrong bit there. I was meant to be eh-ing at the Ivo Stas thing... Scored an own goal against us for Banik Ostrava in the UEFA cup. We decided to buy him, he got injured in training, never played again.
  4. Luc Nillis. Shame, that one. See also Ivo Stas, who we signed, who never played a game for us, yet scored for us in Europe. Work that one out. And the person who mentioned Savo .... firstly, he only cost 3.5m. Secondly, he scored 29 goals in 85 league matches. Hardly brilliant, but one in three is hardly flop territory. I think you may be thinking of Bosko Balaban, our Luque.
  5. Simple scenario, you live in these towns, you fancy watching the odd match, you fancy choosing a team to watch, in a neutral, casual, mild affinity way ... who do you go for? London - Fulham (nice location, nice fans, old school ground) Birmingham - Villa, of fucking course (FFS, don't make me explain this) Liverpool - Everton (proper grand old club) Manchester - City (not United) Sheffield - Wednesday - big club, hard times. Glasgow - Celtic Wild card - Nottingham Forest (for the Clough legacy)
  6. How long has your brother been a Chelsea supporter?
  7. I bet Aaron Hughes flailed around cluelessly, the clueless fecker.

Incidentally, I think Heskey has been excellent, too.

When we put Barry in centre midfield towards the end of last season, he honestly bossed games on a regular basis, and was the main reason we had that 10 match unbeaten run.

And an Aston Villa player to control midfield for 180 minutes.

That's because there haven't been any since 19 fucking 57.

Yes, plenty. At the 2002 WC there were a lot of Japanese England supporters. England are up there with Brazil when it comes to getting foreigners supporting our national team. Most "Brazilian" supporters at international tournaments are actually Finnish. I've just made that up, I think, but I'm a bit pissed, so boo-yah who cares.

Ha ha, witness this, the least convincing eulogy EVER.
  14. Upper Trinity, near the halfway line, at the front, row E or less, definitely. Oh
  15. I went from Israel to Egypt on the same passport. Never heard of people needing two?! Is it even legal to have duplicate passports? It is legal, yes. I too went from Israel to Arab countries with no problems (six month Israeli visa stamp in my passport), but a friend of mine (who came with us to Israel), his father worked in Libya for a US oil company (this was the mid 80s) and he had to have two passports, as Libyan stamps in your passport were the 80s equivalent of travelling with a muslim style beard and bulging rucksack. All arranged with the help of the FO, apparently
  16. Whilst I agree Barry is in the best 11 outside the top four, I'm duty bound to point out that playing him at left back is a criminal waste of his talents, as any Villa fan would tell you. His best position is where he played for England on Saturday.
  17. I can't believe anyone can put together an argument that Ken Bates was even a remotely half decent chairman. There arent many people I used to look at in the darkest days of the Ellis years and say "well, it could be worse", but Bates was one of them. Remember the electrified fences plan?
  18. You know that Surman is white, I would hate to think you are trying to make this a colour thing. I'm talking about Agbonlahor. His dad is black, so his provenance is commented on. If his dad were white, it wouldn't get mentioned. That's a fact. Surman was at least born and lived in South Africa. "African connection" my fucking arse, Agbonlahor is as English as it gets. Lazy, lazy journalism.

I thought Gareth Barry was excellent today, really excellent. I fully expect him to be dropped for the next match.

    Best uncapped XI

Pennant should be in prison, the horrible fucking scrote.
  21. I think England winning the world cup in my lifetime would make me very, very happy indeed. I know Villa winning the League and European Cup made me as happy as I've ever been in my life. Which would I choose? Option a for the first time in my life or either in option b to happen again? Option b every time.
  22. I wonder if Agbonlahor's mum was Scottish and dad was, say, Italian, whether anyone would even mention it? I somehow doubt it. I wonder why that is?
  23. Agbonlahor is from Erdington in Birmingham, and thus about as English as it gets. Oooh, but he's got a fancy foreign name. So have half the population of Birmingham.
  24. Talking of which, interesting article here: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premier_league/aston_villa/article2388758.ece *thumbs up*
  25. Ignore this. I should read posts properly before posting.
