That's the puppy. I am scrubbing my eyes as I write this.

94-5 and then again 99-2000, but they weren't rooted in any historical thing, though. Ellis probably got a job lot from Diadora going cheap. We had a repulsive green and black striped away shirt in the mid 90s, too. Apparently our new away shirt is a replica of the 1982 EC final shirt, which will make up for the current badge disappointment.

I loathe the new badge, and there are rumblings of a campaign to get it re-designed (doomed to failure, obv). I can not believe it says AVFC and not Aston Villa, and the actual design is s****. Yes, new home and away, Hummel out, thank christ, they really are the lowest quality shirts ever. Unfortunately, the sponsor changes after the coming season too, so that'll be new kits for two consecutive years. I only buy vintage ones myself, mind, so I'm not bothered. Was the bloke on SSN a weedy looking Asian bloke? if so, he is a twunt of the highest order, one of the people who propelled himself into the media every now and then when we were trying to get rid of Ellis. Stripes on the badge, indeed. They were moaning about that very thing when Ellis introduced them Didn't Villa originaly play in stripes though? Could be wrong mind, but sure I once read yous did. Having seen the badge, it does look s**** mind (sorry). No, played in them one season in the 1880s and wore horizontal stripes for two seasons in the first ten years following formation in 1874. I did, however, check historicalkits.co.uk to check this, mind, I'm not a trainspotter or owt. Don't apologise, you are right about the badge. Shite.

How has it gone down? That zebra stripey dealie on the side looks minging IMO. City's kit not out for a while. All I know is, Le Coq. Everyone is complaining about having Umbro. And I agree really, they're s***. Even Derby bloody County have got Adidas now. Though I think next seasons kit is an improvement on the current one, at least the neck is symmetrical and I like the slight bit of yellow trim. The zebra stripe things are rubbish but they're on nearly all the new Umbro kits. Umbro kits are quite nice. We're moving from Hummel (the absolute fucking worst) to Nike, which is supposedly prestigious, but for my money, Nike kits look dull.

So why last season did they have the st. george cross (england flag) above all the player names on the back of the shirt? http://www.mmsports.com/inter/06/inter-home-ibrahimovic-8.jpghttp://www.uksoccershop.com/images/figo_inter_home_0607.jpg Because that is also, as someone else pointed out, the flag of Lombardia, the region in which you'll find Milan. Somewhat contentious as it associates them with the Lega Nord / Lombardian seperatist movement.

I'm clapping in agreement with this. I would rather my kids grew up to be Birmingham City fans than Man United / Chelsea / Liverpool fans, and when i see parents with Chelsea shirt clad kids around here, I genuinely want to give them a slap. These people who "choose" their club despite them being at the other end of the country, funny how they never choose unsuccessful clubs, isn't it? They are the lowest of the low in my opinion.

No, that was an Ellis invention of a few years ago. The original badge was a shield, claret with blue lion, very simple. Then we had a very 70s one which was round and very stylish in its time (like your one i mentioned above) which i personally loved but only because it was our badge when i got into football. Then the s*** stripey Ellis invention, and now this f****** abomination, which does indeed look like some 13 year old knocked it up in Paint. I'm very, very f***** off, and so are most of our fans.

Currently 4 points less mediocre than your good selves, mind. Aye, we're so jealous. I didn't say you should be, I implied that you're mired in precisely the same vat of sticky mediocrity that we are. Only slightly more mired.

Currently 4 points less mediocre than your good selves, mind. Yeah but at least we're united in mediocrity. Mid-table is the new top of the league, tbh.
-
What, not again, you mean? ...from what it is now, I mean. Controversially, i quite liked your old NUF plus inverted C one, very of its times, but i liked it.

Don't get me fucking started on this. Prepared is the motto and always has been but is whacked on the bottom as an afterthought (and Villa predate the scouts by several decades, before you ask). The star refers to the European Cup win but makes us look small time for having it there. The AVFC across the top is a fucking disgrace, we have (imho) one of the most historic names in football, we're not some fucking acronym. And the type face is shite as well. We're fucking gutted about it, the first fuck up of the new regime. However, I soon stopped being too worried when i read this article in The Times today: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premiership/aston_villa/article1739139.ece

Jloyd Samuel is out of contract. *begging bowl shaking gesture* PS and Lee Hendrie.

Without wanting to state the obvious and not in any way a wind-up, maybe the difference is that they won things?
-
I agree on both points. And all these people blathering on about how Liverpool - Man U would be the dream CL final should possibly remember that all that does is make the gap even wider.
-
Fucking brilliant. Stick that up your arse, Taggart, you cunt.

Oh and by the way, I'm with Gemmill on the "football shirts anywhere other than to the match" thing. It just isn't right. Oh, and women wearing football shirts is never right, not even AT the match

lol but did you get the doors to go on the bottom of your billy? How vulgarly nouveau riche!

We've got three white ones AND a Benno in our, errrrm, 'study', like.

He's got a big Citeh tattoo on his leg, so I doubt it. Myth AFAIK. Was a City supporter growing up for sure, but I think this tattoo thing was just born out of someone looking for a reason he always wears long sleeve shirts. For what its worth, I don't think many footballers "support" a club. I imagine that once they turn pro, that feeling we all have of wanting our team to win is replaced...altho they will probably have a special place in their heart for the team they supported as a boy. The only exception to this I know is Paul Scholes, who goes to watch Oldham with his kid, and even that is probably not so much support as it is responsible parenting, ie. making sure his son supports someone proper instead of growing up to be a w******. Footballers are mercenary cunts. Observe "Once a Blue, Always a Blue" Rooney jumping up and down kissing the United badge at Goodison last week, right in front of the Everton fans. Actually, not necessarily mercenary cunts, just stupid cunts. When we had Ian Taylor (lifelong Villa fan) playing for us, he was injured for the derby game at St Andrews, but rather than sit in the dugout or some box, was spotted by the tv cameras sat with the rest of the away supporters watching the game. I'd imagine most players undergo some brainwashing thing where money is the most important thing, and the team they actually supported counts for nowt.

Ah, the IKEA Billy bookshelf (Oak) plus accompanying CD tower, which may actually be a Benno.

Chelsea will make it 1-1 in the last three minutes of normal time.
