For some reason, I can see Park Ji Sung getting it...(purely for commercial reasons). Wouldn't be a bad choice tbh, if you want players looking to their captain in terms of effort etc... Hughes has told the Korean press that Park is "in the reckoning" for the captaincy. If so, it's probably a commercial choice. Would be interesting to see how he gets along with Barton regardless.

Is there a Korean player that wouldn't be a fantastic signing for anyone in your opinion though? Every single one except about ten? He's one of the good ones though. Will be our best player within three years time. He is one of maybe three Koreans I would be happy to see at Newcastle United, so obviously it's a huge coup for Cardiff City.

Korean international winger Kim Bo-Kyung (almost) off to Cardiff City. Will be a fantastic signing for them.
-
Don't know if he's signed a new contract since the new money came in, but if he has he's probably on absurd wages as well.
-
Thought he would retire? Lots of money changed his mind I suppose. And it's a good thing it did. We'd have glory hunters crawling out of the woodwork for all eternity if he retired there and got a testimonial or something. As for his ability, while he's definitely overpriced, I wouldn't discount his capability to lift a relatively inferior team. That's essentially what he's been doing for nearly a decade at international level.

Come to think of it, MUFC selling Park and replacing him with a Japanese player is probably one if the only things they could have ever done to lose all their support out here. Fergie has answered my prayers

Korea team is pretty motivated for this. Winning a medal gets them exempt from military service.

Wow, did not expect Park to QPR at all. On the one hand I'm glad because I've always wanted him to grow a pair of balls and move to a team where he can be a key player. On the other hand I can't help but feel that it's a bit too late now. 5m and 60k/w is a lot for a thirty-year old who's been a bit player for almost his entire career.

this is brilliant This absolutely must be sung.

This is the bestest news. And even if they win, we still get to keep Tiote as a consolation prize.
-
Love the guy but I'd tend to agree. I would think talk of 8m would be bollocks if Celtic hadn't already rejected 6m from Rubin Kazan. He's certainly much better than Celtic make him look though. Would be a massive upgrade on Barton.

The petulance of this new thread title

I just came when I saw the title. Had to start picking the jizz back off the floor when I read the actual articles

You guys were so close. I was in Seoul with all the 'Be the reds' after the Portugal game. One of the most amazing experiences I have ever had. Seoul was insane. People would jump on cars and break windows and the drivers would walk out and celebrate with them.

Oh dear, are we talking about 2002?

Fuck, I think that just might be the classiest thing I've ever witnessed from a footballer. With the obvious exception of every Sunderland match, of course.
-
Wish him nothing but the best in the future.

Cuellar cost 7.8m? Well, at least O'Neil is getting him for free this time.

Like the Turks, our first names are our surnames, our last names are our given names. So in reality, we all have double-barreled given names.

Nobody cares about that man. His agent calls it the APL as well for some reason

Really not having fun with this Euros. No truly dramatic matches, no great stories, pretty much the best four teams in the quarters, and a final that's about 99% likely to finish 1-0 with Spain winning again despite being massively unimpressive. 2008 was so much better.
