Walker not going, Richards not going. I can't imagine Hodgson fancying Glen Johnson at all. ....Dare we dream?

it may not be the clubs decision. They do have the option of giving him a new, more lucrative deal that could convince him to stay, possibly with assurances of first-team football. Up to them to decide whether that's wise or not. no-one should have a contract that ensures them first team football anmd i wouldn't want him being unhappy at a tactical thing but the cash making him stay. Well, yeah. But if the club do decide to throw more money at him I'll trust that they're made a reasonable decision based on what they know.

Meh, I trust the club to make the right decision in this sort of situation. Most of the factors involved in deciding whether to renegotiate his contract or allow him to leave are psychological/emotional, so it's impossible for us to make an accurate assessment from the outside.

I am so going if we're playing in Kazakhstan
-
bit sad he wouldn't at least come back home and play a season, given how apeshit bonkers everyone is about him there He's disgustingly loyal to that club. Retired from international football at age 30 to prolong his club career as well. No wonder Fergie loves him.
-
Park has said (and taken a lot of flak for saying) that he'll retire when he's no longer good enough for Manchester United. Can't see him agreeing to a move to Sunderland, of all places.

Shame all of the Russian teams qualified are Western. Would be pissing myself laughing if we got an away day in Vladivostok Looks like the closest I can hope for is Kazakhstan

To be fair we've done well in the 4-4-2. It worked against Man United at home and Chelsea away. It's pretty obvious that his plan (at least later in the season) is to go for a slightly more direct 4-4-2 against the better teams, while going with the more adventurous 4-3-3 against teams we should beat. I don't think the 4-4-2 suits or players, but at the same time, our impression of it is probably biased by the fact that the teams we use the 4-4-2 against are much tougher to play against and (usually) make us look worse.

If nobody is allowed to "buy" the title, Man United would just win it every year for the rest of eternity. Nobody wants that.
-
i'd be embarrassed if we won it like they have. muted celebration at best. Nobody will win it any other way anymore.

Perhaps my CY Lee to Newcastle wet dream may happen now

Fuck this shit

I think we'll strengthen in the summer but we can't really count on Chelsea and Liverpool to have another utter shitstorm of a season like they have this year. Realistically I think we're looking at 7th. I'd be happy with that and a good cup run.
-
The South Korea squad is probably the weakest it's been in a decade, but I think we'd still have a decent shot at beating England. The players you have available for selection at the moment are quite poor.
-
Would we fill 10,000 more seats? Not like we sell out every match right now anyway.
-
I see they've changed the wording on that unfortunate Sunderland advert at the airport
-
Really? He was excellent earlier in the season, I went on RAWK and many were saying he was their best signing in a while. What changed? Been a bit shit the last few games. We broke him at St James'
-
To be fair, I guess I'd be feeling magnanimous too if I'd just (sort of) won the title.

Thought the booing and hissing was class. Any human being would find it difficult to preform in that environment. Although it's probably a complete coincidence, they scored after De Jong came on and we started booing just him as opposed to their entire team

Couldn't help but notice the small pocket of City fans staying to applaud our players' lap of honor. What they're doing as a club might not be agreeable but you certainly can't fault their fans for that.

I'm leaving tomorrow. Wish I could stay for this but neither my boss nor my bank account will permit it Ahh back to the land of the rising sun eh mate? Yeah, must be nice for you living in Sunderland

Brought a tear to my eye at the end. Must be sad, knowing that it's the last time you're going to walk down that tunnel. He gave us a few good memories, which is more I can say for a lot of the players who've been at this club in the last few years. Best wishes wherever he goes.
