Even if we were capable of getting him to sign, I wouldn't be sure I'd want him here. Could just be another N'Zogbia situation where he underachieves massively yet still unsettles the dressing room by begging for a "dream move" to Arsenal every window.
-
Try M'Bia then. Everyone on here who's seen him (I haven't) reckoned we'd need to double our supposed bid to get him. Where does that £3-4m come from if not from the Given sale? We can't afford our targets as things stand. Would never come here anyway so not really bothered about him. Simple fact of the matter is that no player rated at 10m is going to come to this club right now.
-
I find it extremely unlikely that the delay is actually about us squabbling with the club over 500k. The player's agent is apparently already in town for negotiations, and 500k is chump change for anybody. Even us. The simplest explanation for me is that the player's agent is just being an arse over personal terms. Again, can't prove any of this etc.
-
No reason we can't pony up 3m, and the player's representatives wouldn't be in Newcastle already if we hadn't even agreed a fee. Pretty sure the agent is just trying to jack up personal terms.

It's been made public numerous times that we have "8~10 mil" to spend. We've made public bids that roughly conform to that budget. The reason we haven't spent all window isn't because we're utterly insolvent. It's simply that our targets won't come. 5m more doesn't make a huge different to us when it seems likely that the absolute best we can hope for at this point is maybe signing Ebondo. Having Given or not makes a huge difference for City. (This is of course, all assumption based on my interpretation of reality. No I can't "prove" any of this, just like no one can prove anything that pertains to their views of how the club is being run right now. It's a "discussion" forum for God's sake.)
-
Our prem status is at risk BIG TIME, we need money to fund other areas of the first team. Man City know this. 5m more isn't going to represent a significant upgrade on our current targets.. Our problem isn't the money it's that nobody wants to come here. We have absolutely nothing to lose by playing hardball. It's not as if we're going to buy anyone significant anyway.
-
How do they? They're under pressure to improve their squad and their league position.
-
Would love him to prove us wrong by coming to us in our darkest hour rather than waiting until everything is plush. It's about time somebody connected to this club exceeded my expectations for a change.
-
I don't get this "city have all the cards" bullshit. It's not as if the club's going into administration immediately. We're debt free and only need money insofar as much as it can buy us players. It doesn't look like we're buying a lot of players (which certainly isn't a good thing, but howay nobody wants to come here what can you do.) So we don't need the money. There's every incentive for us to hold out and get a proper rate in the summer rather than letting them hold us to ransom. CITY are the ones who should be under pressure. They need a keeper NOW.
-
Not his fault tbf that his best players have been sold. Portsmouth were paid handsomely for those signatures. He should have replaced them. Besides, what they have left still isn't that bad.
-
Kinnear is more embarrassing, but Tony Adams is hands down more inept. He took a FA Cup winning squad and managed to transform it into one of the worst in the Prem.

Think Sunderland are a good example of sacking their manager at the right time. The players had such an "anyone but Roy Keane" attitude that the good feeling resulting from his sacking has got them quite a few points, although Sbragia is almost certainly out of his depth in the long term. Surely the attitude in our dressing room right now is pretty much "anyone but Joe Kinnear." Sacking him now could produce similar good feeling.
-
Why don't we all have a protest at the derby, with "appoint Wise!" and "Cockney Mafia In!" Banners. Confuse the hell out of Ashley
-
Everyone on here got sick of listening to his "fair point" years ago. The smugness, misrepresentation, and generally annoying attitude are just gravy.

The question that haunts me is where we would be if Ashley had the balls to stick to the plan and gave Terim the job instead of trying to sell. I look at how comfortable West Ham are with no money, a s*** squad, and an unproven manager, and I shed a tear. I didnt relaise Terim was the plan, my guess is that Poyet was the number 1 choice, better than Kinnear. Its a shame that the fans didnt protest, Im not sure he'd put the club up for sale if they hadnt of protested so vehemently. West Ham is a prime example of what we should be doing, said it 3 months ago, ill say it again. My opinion, and i dont care who this pisses off is that those who protested are a big part of the problem we face now. I agree but there were never, ever not going to be protests when a club legend like Kevin Keegan walks out, ostensibly due to the interference of the "Cockney Mafia." Keegan's fault for leaving us in the shit. Ashley's fault for appointing him in the first place, and then caving at the first sign of trouble. Why the fuck is everyone at the top of this club so weak minded.

Really deserves to be sacked even just for his reckless misconduct alone.

I don't agree, if we had the majority of our players fit for the season so far we would be comfortably in mid table. Perhaps not comfortably mid table, but certainly not nailed-on for relegation as we are now. You can't blame this entirely on lack of transfer activities. No squad in the premiership could withstand the kind of injury crisis we've got. It's a miracle we avoided relegation in 2006-2007. This one's just as bad, if not worse.

Is the ignore filter coming anytime soon? I don't read anything he says but even just his avatar kind of gets on my nerves now.

West Brom's actually been on the up last few matches... Think Stoke are looking the worse team at the moment. Stoke at home... Ah, that certainly went well
-
I honestly don't even know who he is. When'st he last time he reffed us?
-
I didn't even consider this option, but sure, why not. To think that the day would come where I would welcome Dennis Wise as manager...
-
N'Sonia.....N'Zogba.....err Charlie That was absolutely f.....g hilarious. indeed it was!! hah.......... god i hate jfk The fact that he mentioned N'Zogbia without even being asked about him seems like a bit of a slip. Looks like both were rested due to transfer reasons. Getting a few quid for the French cunt should take a bit of the sting off losing Shay.

If that interview isn't stone cold evidence that he's lost the plot (assuming he ever had one to begin with,) I don't know what is. Reminds me of those Roeder interviews that made him look borderline mentally unstable towards the end of his reign.

He was fine when we had Enrique-Colo-Bassong-Beye going. Everyone's been hit with a drop in form since Wigan away. Owen was scoring for fun, and Bassong and Colo were rocks. It's the injuries destroying the squad and the players losing confidence in their manager that's killed everyone's form. I would be hesitant to judge anyone based on how they're playing right now.
