Midds, this one is for you. What good will another short-term appointment do? If a new manager is to be appointed it has to be long term and in that sense we can do far, far better than the likes of Pardew and Coleman. No we can't. In the state we're in I'd hand either one of them a two year contract in a heartbeat. Despite the likes of Terim, Deschamps, Bruce and Shearer declaring interest in the job when KK left? The club's stock has shot down like a rock since then. Besides, none of them actually expressed genuine interest bar Terim. Shearer made a point of saying he wouldn't come here.

It's not as if Kinnear was a class manager with a decent record and we're just turning on him because of recent poor form. FFS. He was never good enough. Appointing hiim was a mistake from the start. Let's just get around to rectifying that before we're dead and buried. It was either him or Hughton. Take your pick. No-one else wanted the job. Getting on my nerves how everyone states this with utter certainty. If you were an unemployed manager who'd just left a Championsihp club, would you not jump at the chance to manage anywhere in the Premiership? No matter how s***? Well there are a few of those out there right now. And every last one is leagues better than Joe f***ing Kinnear. Do you blame the players at all or is it totally, 100% on Kinnear? The players are also s*** but they'd be significantly less s*** if they weren't being coached by a complete idiot. Is it impossible in your mind to both improve the squad AND get a new manager? Does it have to be either/or? Not at all. But I can't see a long line of top players and managers forming an orderly queue to join us, can you? In my opinion the players need to take a large share of the responsibility of the blame for where we find ourselves. If you disagree then fair enough. I don't absolve the players from blame in the slightest. I don't see why you keep trying to misrepresent me in that manner. We need to make a couple signings AND sack Joe Kinnear if we want to stay up. There are replacements out there. Name them. Search the thread, I've done so at least five times and I really can't be arsed anymore.

Does blaming Kinnear automatically equate not blaming the players in your mind? NE5-esque logic

What we should have done was say "thanks but get the f*** out of here" the moment the club went off the market. Why? We were looking alright going into Christmas when, as I recall at least, we put a decent little run together. To sack Kinnear on the back of that would have been very unfair imo and would just alienate the players even more. If it's illogical to sack a decent manager over a bad run, it's equally illogical to keep a shit manager over a good one. We should have let his contract run out, gave him an honorable handshake for steadying the ship, and write him a glowing reference for his new job in the Championship.

There is absolutely no chance of us changing the manager now. There's no point even discussing it. no chance of any manager doing much better either unless at least 2 good players walk through the door A manager who told the players to stop standing still waiting for the f***ing ball & move into some f***ing space would be a start A manager who told players like Duff to try looking up before passing the ball to no one would help. In any case, why must it be either/or, why can't it be both? We need signings AND a manager that isn't a complete idiot to stay up this year.
  13. And a dead heat between Joe Kinnear and Tony Adams for the most inept Premiership manager in recent memory.

Hoping for a new manager honeymoon period is pretty much our last chance now. It's a gamble we have to take.

  16. Did Duff walk eagerly over to the touchline thinking he'd be coming off?

Are we still absolutely sure that mr. "Lualua on for Geremi on the 91st minute" is the best manager we could possibly get?
  18. It'll be comedy gold if Owen starts begging for a new contract from his hospital bed.
  19. Could city fans not have the common decency to give us a rousing rendition of "you'll be sacked in the morning?"
  20. Bassong injured mackems.gif This year is "Newcastle United: The Greatest Hits" We've got Souness' ineptitude, Roeder's injury crisis, and Allardyce's shit tactics molded together.
  21. Hmm, might have actually scored one or two in the second half if we had Oba or Owen on the pitch.
  22. Both keepers must be falling asleep. Unlucky how we conceded early, could have nicked a 0-0 the way City are playing.
  23. If it turns out that Barton and Owen are both injured for extensive periods of time, I'm just going to and give up on football.
