I've never really rated Guthrie and thought he was poor last season opposed to what many supporters seem to think. This season however he has been doing a decent job for us and is the player in our squad with the league game assists (8 in 17 games, Jonas has 6 in 19) so you can't complain over his assist/game ratio. Still I think he's wasted out wide as he clearly isn't perfectly comfortable there. He doesn't really have the pace or technical ability to dribble past players and often drifts inwards to Smith-Nolan narrowing our attacking options when he should be stretching their defense. Maybe that is something what Hughton has told him to do, I don't know, but in any case I've often found myself cursing Guthrie for being so anonymous only for him to deliver a perfect cross leading to a goal few minutes later. I'd definitely prefer us fielding a fast and technical natural winger on the right but seeing how Ashley won't spend a dime this transfer window, I say we should stick with Guthrie. As much as I love Nobby, he is 35 years old and people really need to stop with all the nostalgia bullshit. After the relegation I thought most people here wanted to stop relying on yesterday's men and build up for the future, well legend or not Solano is clearly past his best and isn't the future.

Just seen the interview. He said 'Twenty seven thousand people' 9 times in 3 minutes. That's nothing like. I remember counting Paul Ince saying "you know" 37 times in a 3.5 minute long interview. quote: "...and you know, I've always said you know, you know, it's important that we entertain the fans and you know...." Scott Parker still holds the record for most "you know" in 1 minute with 17 "you know" in less than 60 seconds. (one you know every 3.5 seconds, quite impressive indeed)

Yep, will be a steal at 1.5m if they chose to buy him at the end of the season. Was dubbed to be the next big thing in Poland a few years ago but didn't' quite live up the to it, a bit surprised he is doing so well in a physical league such as this one. Always thought he would be quality in the future though.

They sold too many of their good players and sacked their coach far too early. (think it was about 8 games into the season, so he could have turned it around). After losing players like Pantelic, Voronin, Fiedler, Simunic and Babic it was quite clear they wouldn't be as good as they were last season. Ah, cheers Still 6 points and 13 goals in 17 games is a bit pathetic like.

Obraniak, out of contract in 6 months. Doesn't want to sign a new contract and the only club I've heard him being seriously linked with is Rennes. Only seen him in the national games but he definitely looks like a tidy player with good technical skills who can play as a creative midfielder or out on the wing. edit: Hmm nevermind, seems his contract is out in 2011. Must have missed that somehow, doubt we'll have money for him then.
