Xisco joins Deportivo on loan until the end of the season
Ridman replied to LoveItIfWeBeatU's topic in Football
"He told the Chronicle: “It was the right decision – I have no regrets. “I came here to show my football this year. “It hasn’t come true for different reasons.”" “I signed here for five years, and I will have a lot of chances to show the best Xisco. “Hopefully I can do that. It hasn’t been easy but I will continue to work hard. “If I have to play in the reserves to do it, I will.” : “Every game there are nearly 50,000 people. “All the time the fans are with the team. It’s perfect. “I’ve never seen something like this in Spain. “There are no fans like here. “I don’t have any problems with the life here it is brilliant, I just want to work hard to get things right on the pitch.” http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2009/05/01/xisco-kid-s-in-no-rush-to-get-outta-toon-72703-23519400/ Fair play to him and great attitude, hopefully he'll be given a chance next season -
Me too, also scared that they'll pick up a point at Bolton. Hopefully they'll only get 3 points til the end of the season with us winning the two remaining home games and staying up on goal difference. Sunderland have 3 winnable games remaining and I suspect they'll pick up at least one win, meaning we'll need to get something at Villa or Anfield to stay in touch with them. Looking really bleak for us at the moment.

Kinnear only got the job as no one else wanted it. Zico did http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_4118885,00.html Did a decent job with Japan and got Fenerbahce into the Champions league quarter-finals (where they lost 2-3 to Chelsea on aggregate). Fenerbahce also won the league during his first season and finished 2nd the following year.

We should have gone for Zico after Keegan resigned in September. Zico was interested and ready to work under our setup but no, why not let Hughton run riot with the team and lose game after game then only to be replaced by Joe fucking Kinnear. What a joke. I hate Mike Ashley.

You should try listening to the Icelandic ones. It's just like commentary for the blind, a 100% accurate commentary of what is happening at any given time. "Martins passes down to Owen, Owen gets the ball, Owen turns and crosses over to Gutierrez, Gutierrez runs with the ball and shoots way over." *camera turns to fans* "There we have some Newcastle fans singing" *camera turns to the goalkeeper* "Here comes Van Der Saar, the Man U goalkeeper, and he kicks the ball upfield" etc. you never have any analysis of any kind. Listening to Sky commentators is like listening to Gods compared to the Icelandic ones. I actually know a family of die hard Man U fans that always watches the footy muted and honestly I can't blame them. Some of my favorite words of wisdom this season: "No no no, if you are going to shoot from that range you'll have to go much closer" Yorke is preparing to come on as a sub and the commentator, having nothing useful to say, goes "Dwight Yorke is coming on, he sure knows his way around the ladies" Then everyone of them is biased as fuck. The other day we had a Liverpool fan commentating a Liverpool game so in the warm-up he goes "Oh, I hope we get to hear You Never Walk Alone, that magnificent song" then of course a minute later they play it "Ok people, turn up the volume on your televisions because here it comes" , then for the whole time they were playing it he didn't utter a word, probably leaning back in his chair with his eyes closed hugging a Liverpool scarf. The Icelandic MOTD is even worse. Like everyone in the studio agreed that the penalty given in the Man U - Tottenham game was probably the right decision Ah, during the Euro 08 I remember Holand getting a free-kick. With the likes of Persie, Sneijder and Vaart looking likely to take it the commentator goes "Now Nistelrooy will probably come to take the free-kick, he is their free-kick specialist". Then of course he was surprised that Sneijder got to take it. Useless tossers.

Dunno, I thought he was immense in a strong Italy side that only conceded two goals during the tournament (an unfortunate own goal and a penalty) Didn't Zidane win the golden ball though?

On average Giggs has played 37 minutes per game this season...

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHA That's all you can say. Just shows ya how thick the average footballer is. How can a player who has started 12 games possibly be chosen the player of the year? Evans and Rafael being nominated for the young player of the year award ahead of the likes of Fellaini is beyond a joke too. I'm lost for words really.

Surprised that Fulham are now considered a step up from Monaco. from what I've seenof him he's pretty decent. Quick and will run all day. Not a tremendous goal threat but still good. Also I'm sure his name has always been Park Chu Young. Is yours the proper translation. . It's the phonetically correct one, but people generally just use whatever they're comfortable with. I think you're right and he's registered himself as Chu-Young Way off-topic here, but exactly how popular is Starcraft in Korea? In comparison to other sports? Was watching this mini-documentary the other day and seeing all those live events with thousands of people watching the games live and probably a million more watching it on TV it made me wonder. Those pro gamers are pretty crazy, like these clans lock themselves up in this little rooms with just tables and computers and practice 14 hours a day (and when they practice there is no time for msn/facebook etc. you actually play for 14 hours straight, they have 3-4 coaches that ensure no one is doing anything else), 6 days of the week. It's a bloody 10 year old rts game ffs! Taken from wiki "Boxer), is one of the most successful players of the real-time strategy computer game StarCraft to date. Dubbed The Emperor by his legions of admirers, he is the most popular Starcraft player with a fan club of more than 600,000 members and a DVD compilation of his greatest games released in South Korea." Seeing how dedicated and competitive Koreans get can when it comes to computer games ya have to wonder why that doesn't transfer that to sports and why they don't have more world class athletes.

Just look at him! http://img.skysports.com/09/04/800x600/Everton-v-Manchester-City-Stephen-Ireland_2217869.jpg Pretty sure this is the closest to what you'd get if an elf and an alien had sex.

He did just before the impact, still Gomes got the ball before brining down Carrick. It was the wrong decision to give a penalty but in my opinion nowhere near the scandal people make it out to be.
