While there has been a plethora of great games both home and abroad and the respective arrivals and departures of King Kev and Jose Mourinho were sensational news stories, I'd have to plump for Darren Moore's miracle. Way back in December, Big Dave performed the impossible in making Mark Viduka look fast. Moore had at least 10 yards on the big Aussie at St James' Park, but backed by the Toon masses, Viduka swept past the Derby man and cleanly took possession. I haven't laughed so much in years. mackems.gif

Scored more goals than anyone except Man United this season. Not dull. A traditional, quality winger in Ashley Young? Not dull. The pace of Agbonlahor? Not dull. Combined with the power of Carew? Not dull. The passing of Barry? Not dull. Currently in with a very good chance of finishing 5th, two years after having looked odds on for relegation, and not even having started spending properly yet? Not dull. A goalkeeper (not Carson) A right side midfielder (Milner would do) A right back (preferably two - Nelson from Benfica will prob be one) A left back (god knows who) A goal scorer (god knows) That's what we need to really push on next season. Although I like Milner, I'm not convinced he's of a high enough quality to take you into the top 4. Other than that I think you're right, you are about 4 or 5 players from improving on this year's finish. Assuming you don't loose any of your better players that is. With Melberg going to Juve, Carson returning to Liverpool and Barry possibly leaving, you'll have a lot to do in the summer. How much ya think Villa will spend this summer, Brummie?

I think they probably will. They hated Shinawatra when he first took over anyway. The difference is though that Sven was Shinawatra's man, he hired him. When Ashley arrived Sam was already here so Mike thought he might as well give Sam have a go and see how it works out, don't really understand why we got so much criticism. Sam was never Mike's man and was taking us to the Championship playing the worst football I've seen Newcaslte play while Sven is actually doing a decent job and is very popular with the fans and players.
