  1. If he wants to go I guess he goes and we make City pay top dollar. Would be a huge miss and difficult to replace. Disappointing if he’s up for the move.

How the fuck can predictive text change Henderson to Hordon 😂

Get TAA on, get Hordon & Eze and just run at them. Henderson & Palmer may as well be sitting beside me.

    João Pedro

If Isak has another season like last year & we fail to qualify for the CL there has to be a good chance he’d push to go. Getting Predo in now would be a great move. I don’t particularly want Elanga but, I’d sell Gordon if that meant Pedro, a RW & Trafford. Barnes then gets the LW spot & we’d still have Osula & Big Jo as wider options. Get money for Willock & Longstaff & we should have enough PSR headroom to perhaps get Guehi in as well (think he has higher ambitions than us). I’m not openly advocating Gordon leaving but, it’d give us options, we have cover & there was something not right towards the end of last season.
  7. Well, so Murphy is better based on data but, slower. My main concern is that we pay upwards of 50M and bench him in favour of Murphy. He spent a chunk of time on Forest’s bench last season. He doesn’t appear very disciplined or that good technically. 🤷‍♂️
  8. Reminds me of a quicker version of Murphy, without the defensive awareness.

    João Pedro

He’s a cracking player, will be wildly overpriced.
  10. Ref blows on 90 mins to save further humiliation.
  11. The way Trafford celebrated his 2 penalty saves against the Mackems with his Isak impression kinda felt he’d already decided he was coming here.
  12. Betting markets in will be getting looked at after that kick off.
  13. Got an unexpected nod that a “major” signing is expected by the end of this mini transfer. Got a separate message that failure to qualify for the CL would have forced the sale of a top player. Both player ambition and the need to freshen up the squad. PSR has to change, the implications for the likes of us, Villa, Forest or any club wanting to really go for it and have the money for it seem to get more desperate every year. Fail to make the CL and you risk your whole longer term strategy going up the wall and a new cycle begins. Sky 6 excluded. It’s crazy that we’ve gone 3 windows without a signing.

  15. Betis performance levels fell off a cliff 2nd half. Can’t keep up with Chelsea, far poorer bench options

UEFA carried on with the 1 club 1 city rule for the first 2 or 3 years (until Everton appealed). It was the same competition, with a different name, cup and governing body. UEFA wanted to wipe the previous version from history.

Fairs Cup: * UEFA don’t list it as it was a FIFA organised competition. * UEFA took it over as it was overshadowing The Cup Winners Cup and had better sides in it. * Don Revie commented that it was almost as hard to win as The European Cup as only League winners entered the top competition whereas the strong leagues each had several teams in The Fairs Cup. * UEFA kept the 1 club 1 city rule until 1976 (?) when Everton complained that they’d again missed out to Liverpool. Don’t let anyone try and belittle it, it was a really big deal. Ujpest Dozsa were serious contenders in The European Cup in the next few years, pretty sure they got to the SF. We were firm underdogs to beat them. Given we were 2 down in the final at HT in the return leg it’s even more remarkable that we beat them.
  18. Leaving all speculation/ motive aside; how did he get his car there in the 1st place has to be a major question. Thoughts are with all the victims. It’ll be interesting to see what details come out.

    Jacob Murphy

Tonali & Tino did well in a team generally not at it. I didn’t mention our left as Gordon had a game to forget over there. Murphy looked to me that he didn’t have options, was in a slightly unfamiliar role and didn’t have the ability to adapt (that time he ran across the pitch in the 1st half about 25 yards out before losing being a good example). Barnes failed to give him options by being tucked inside too often and Isak just wasn’t fit and didn’t have his usual movement to give Murphy a target. We absolutely need an upgrade but, for the money we’d get I’d be happy to keep him. I was far more concerned about Gordon’s performance tbh.

He’s had a largely cracking season. From Howe downwards we were all over the place yesterday. We knew how Everton would set up and can only assume thought they’d be on the beach. TBF, I certainly thought that, it was soon apparent that they weren’t.

They’re better off getting top dollar for Bellingham now before he embarrasses himself in the Premier League. He brings very little to that Sunderland side.
  22. We need Real Madrid/ Bayern Munich away. Had enough of Barca. Ajax at home would be good. Avoid Celtic, could get messy home or away. Let’s get drawn against some famous names we’ve not faced before.
  23. There were far too many young, mouthy, scally, Everton fans after the match asking for trouble. Also saw a father laughing at his 2 young daughters mouthing off. There were some canny Scousers in The Newcastle Arms beforehand but they really do have some complete arseholes.
  24. First domestic trophy in 70 years and Champs League qualification. Triumph of a season. Fine margins and all that; come on.
