  1. Fan power hasn't won, Ashley/ the media/ whoever, might want people to believe it but the fact is that if Ashley didn't want to sell he wouldn't. I believe that he is manipulating events to make him out to be the good guy done wrong by a club is disarray when he bought it, a mad manager and maniac fans who he is scared witless of. We all know FS had lost his way & was in danger of taking the club into Administration. FS & SJH knew this, the fans knew this and something was done about it. FS isn't responsible for what Ashley is now doing. Ashley knew what he was taking on, don't be fooled, he will make a profit out of this. The fans are rightly upset with how Ashley has gone about key issues and have held peaceful demonstrations. Ashley is using the fans as a vehicle to get out & warn the world about the place. Mike Ashley, good guy, mis-undertood, scared to go out his front door, Billionairre.
  2. SSN reporting of his statement makes us fans sound like we're going to kill him & concentrates on the negatives. The statement was more balanced than that. You'd think Sky were trying to fuel the fire...
  3. if he had everyone would have said "heard it before from shepherd. i'd rather you said nowt and we'll judge you by your actions" When he took over we were crying out for such a statement, his actions would by & large have borne out the statement & we'd all have known what to expect. He's playing with us.
  4. Why didn't Ashley come out with such a statement about his feelings, plans, debt & transfer kitty when it was really needed; i.e. before this fiasco. If we knew what the score was we could have supported it or at least understood our limitations. He has put this out to make him the victim. He could quite easily have avoided all of this. The club insider referred to KK last days as The Madness of King Kev and rolled out those ludicrous transfer targets. Change of tack from ridiculing KK to trying to get him back & now making him the victim. I hope that a new buyer is found fast, if so & Ashley remains a fan I'd quite happily have him beside me. I suspect however we'll not see him as & when we've been sold. If we don't get a buyer then Ashley has clearly tried to place an onus on the fans to allow him to run the business along his business plans & any further disruption and its effects are down to us. In lots of ways he is right. This to me is PR on an emotional scale & a says things that should have been said 18 months ago. He's playing games with us.
  5. Has to be yes; so we can move on. Ashley resurrects the messiah, doesn't let him manage in his way, forces him out & tries to get him back. We'd have all been better off if he hadn't appointed him in the first place; he's made a complete mess of things. We need closure on KK so he either comes back or Ashley has to go. If this drags on we could go down.
  6. Probably been said but the team we had to put out yesterday just hi-lighted the fact that our squad is far too thin. We have big problems ahead.
  7. What Guthrie did can be understood but it was also unacceptable, rounded off a thoroughly miserable day.
  8. If we see breaking news about Wise/ Llambias resigning we can start hoping. This is madness, I just cannot believe KK would come back, the club got rid of Terry Mac earlier this week for leaking news. If he does come back there is no way the present personnel (perhaps the set-up may) can also survive. Hopefully it would mean that Ashley would at last have realised what thee club & fans are like and will be a bit more adventurous with his wallet - would also make a right fucking mockery of the transfer window we've had to endure. No wonder the papers love us.
  9. So, some on here accept that Ashley is in it for the money first and are happy with that and the fact that any success would come as by a by product and that by and large PL safety would be acceptable? With the strategy he is using that is the best we can hope for. If that is the ambition of Ashley and those supporters are happy to accept this then we do not deserve success.
  10. KK as aplayer worked on value terms, his transfer fee was very low. the problem the club has is in paying mega bucks for players past their best. By their own statement/ rules the present regime would not have signed KK.
  11. Is the foremost amibition to make nufc a profitable company or a successful team? Ashley's priorities are not the same as the fans. When the infamous club insider said of KK's targets that there was no re-sale value in them we should all be worried. If that was how we had acted in the past there would have been no KK the player, no KK the manager, no return of Beardsley, in short we would not be the club we are. By trying to discredit & make a fool of KK things that have been said by nufc have done little but make fools of themselves and show where priorities lie. I hope the initial fury at the manner of KK's departure hasn't diminished but has grown as we start to understand the implications and that Ashley gets the grief he deserves tomorrow. He has lied in the most fundamental way to us - he wanted a bit of fun; he's not running this "business" in any way that suggests that is true.
  12. The rumour mill suggests that Ince had the respect of the MK Dons players and they put up with his arrogance but the Blackburn players are already pissed off with him. An arrogant cockney arsehole; seems perfect then. We need someone to steady the ship, who has bags of experience, who is available, who is widely regarded as an excellent coach, who has worked under a DOF type setup, who would gladly take the money and run when his time came, who would love a last big pay day, who is a cockney wide boy with Spanish undertones.............................why we are going to end up with El Tel.
  13. I think the injury to Jonas and potential time he could out should make it clear to all that our dealings in the transfer window would lead to problems fielding a decent first 11 with players in their preferred positions. The sale of Milner forced Jonas on the right and now we have - Geremi? On a larger scale it goes to show that KK had a rather big point about the squad size and that he had been let down by the structure. We all knew (I hope we did) that the squad was too small & that being Newcastle an injury would come sooner rather than later. In fact I remember posting about this during the transfer window and some saying we'd be ok. We have to hope that Jonas's injury isn't ligaments or he could be out some weeks.
  14. I'll try and bring this back on topic and tbh this could have been posted in a few threads (probably has). Ashley has lied to us and has been on a long PR run to gain support without investing properly in the team. The final straw was how he dealt with KK (& yes I'm pissed off that KK chose to walk instead of fight from the inside). If there is one thing I will judge Ashley on however it is the fact that he chose Wise over KK, he chose a man with no feeling for the club, who is based in London, who assaulted a taxi driver and broke Callum Davidson's jaw while he was asleep over a man who loves the supporters, who is respected, who has integrity and honesty ingrained in him. A man who was european footballer of the year, who captained and managed his country and believed in trying to give the supporters the team they hoped for. Ashley appointed both and sided with Wise. I'm not having a go at Wise here, he is only doing his job. However, it tells me all I need to know about what type of man Ashley is. And yes, Ashley clearly did chose Wise over KK.
  15. Do the council still own the land, I thought that the club bought it out during SJH's time, it wouldn't make sense if they didn't since they were trying to build a casino on some land of theirs around SJP, I'm pretty sure the metro station is actually on NUFC owned land. We renewed the lease on the land, we own the stadium. One of the reasons SJH wanted to move was because the council wouldn't sell.
  16. Doesnt appear to be a FACT so I would say no KK had been invited to another meeting (Thursday?) but I believe this invite was in the letter he received telling him that the club's position wouldn't change but they'd still like to talk to him & that Ashley was still on the lash in New York. KK declined to attend and resigned.
  17. Sorry what little faith/ hope I had has completely gone. He has shown that he will not invest in the first 11 in anyway that will involve him having a potential monetary loss to him. All actions he has taken financially are ones that would be recouped by a sale (which I sincerely hope is his plan). This is a man who pretends to be one of the lads, who lost over 100 million spread betting, allegedly 2 Million in a casino & was in New York spending 125k on a bar bill when he should have been sorting out the mess he has created. He said he wanted the club as a bit of fun, well I don't find it any fun.
  18. Did Dennis Wise or KK want you?
  19. Just saw Shay Given on SSN he looked like a bewildered rabbit in the headlights. Whoever takes training next week is going to have a hell of a job on their hands.
  20. Seems to me that the club is telling the fans to go fuck themselves and go fuck KK too.
  21. I hope the lad is a star, he's done nowt wrong.
  22. Simplistic and not very well done; but that's how I feel anyway. http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm253/nufcstu/welling-1.jpg
  23. Wasn't the structure put in place after KK was appointed & KK knew nowt about it until Wise was taken on? KK had a discussion with Ashley prior to taking on the job; I doubt very much it went along the lines of "You'll be manager and you'll be given players by a Mr Wise". I'm stunned that any fan can cut Ashley any slack on what has happened. The timing of KK leaving is a disaster & I'm bitterly upset that KK has left. Yes, we are left in the lurch but I'm not sure that KK could have stayed if Ashley wasn't prepared to budge on critical issues. The statement from the club is meaningless. A serious question; do you believe that Ashley has the best interests of the club at heart, is here for the long term, understands the fans and will be prepared to put money into the transfer market? This is the man who not so long ago lost over 100 million spread betting on HBOS. He was willing to gamble Millions on the spreads but not invest in players we clearly needed.............. I've never trusted him as he's done nothing to deserve trust and loyalty. I hope he's only here until he can make his profit as it galls me every moment he is the owner of our club.
  24. How can people on here suggest that KK has been impulsive, it has taken (at least) 3 days to get to this decision. The problems have been brewing since the day Wise was appointed.
  25. The only thing I find confusing about KK statement is the lack of comment about selling players but there is a comment about imposing unwanted players on him. What does that mean? Anyway, don't go into the Hull game until half time & then support the players - they deserve our support.
