Mike Ashley needs to sell up and piss off. We don't know the full facts and we all know what KK can be like. But, given what Ashley has done no manager or player in their right mind would come or stay with us. Ashley has shown himself to be a pig headed stuff you all character who when pushed will dig his heels in regardless of the consequences. The fact that KK has felt compelled to resign says it all for me. I only hope that this was part of Ashley's plan and that he has done this to invite a takeover bid. How the fuck are the players going to perform? They will be sick & the atmosphere at games will be more hostile than it has ever been; this is not a situation that will go away while Ashley remains. Somethings you don't forgive. Twat.

If that's true, then highly hypocritical of Keegan. If he knew what happened then, if should have told Ashley in January he wasn't happy with the situation, and if Ashley was still going to appoint Wise, he should have walked then. Are you being serious or just a wum? Are you comparing Keegan with Wise and ask yourself if you were a Fulham supporter then who would you have wanted as manager and ask yourself the same of Keegan and Wise. Wise, Llambias are doing Ashley bidding I cannot imagine for one minute that Keegan was acting as Al-Fayed's bitch.

Ashley comes across as a self important, look at me I can do anything fool. I can wear the shirt, sit with the lads & drink beer. He is an imposter with a slick lovable manner that has taken people in. I wouldn't trust him as far as I could shit him. Both SJH & KK have been told of his plans and he has not delivered. The slack some people are prepared to give him is unbelievable. The lack of money spent on players stinks of the club being set up to be sold. Yes, he has cleared debts but these are actions made to make a business look attractive whilst reducing the wage bill is also a very good move. The sooner he ships out the better. I simply do not believe that he has the clubs best interests at heart.

Not that i'm disagreeing (or agreeing) but how can you pin all of the blame on Ashley? there are two sides to every story and we don't even properly know one side yet! The 2 most important things to any club should be the fans and the first team. KK knows that, Ashley doesn't seem to have grasped it and is doing things in a kind of bargain basement way. Phrases like long term strategy are there to buy time & will only gain credence if short & medium actions pave the way. Ashley has given false hope and allegedly false promises to supporters - Wow. He's made KK look like a tit and we all know where that road leads.

This is almost deja vu with Hayden Bridge/ not like the brochure debacle. I say almost as that was kept fairly quiet and there was a way back. Looks like Ashley is not letting KK run the side how he wants and they have had an almighty pissing up the wall contest that KK was never going to win. In the heat of battle KK is sacked/ walked and Ashley soons realises he has totally fucked up and simply didn't realise the repercussions. The club say nowt as they spend the next few hours trying to get KK back & then issue a statement saying KK wasn't sacked & they want him to stay. I can't see KK coming back from this one and Ashley has lost the fans. I hope he can find a way back & that Wise becomes the fall guy, otherwise we can only hope that Ashley sells up as he will not find forgiveness for what he has done to our club. I'm not blaming KK at all on this one; imo Ashley has brought this day all upon himself and it is we, the fans, who are having to suffer.

Complete shambles.

How much profit has Ashley made on transfers?
-
May have been mentioned - Milito off to Genoa for around 5M
-
How can we sell the twat? We are going to struggle to field 11 players soon!

I've been trying to get into MA's mind set; wow factor, publicity, revenue, low transfer fee, player with something to prove. I came up with David Beckham.

I started the thread so people could have a go at me as a doom monger as some seem to think I am. Since then we have sold Milner and had to field Ameobi at Arsenal and bring Barton on. A good season would be a season where we have a chance of europe or a good run in a cup, a season where we look like we are progressing would be saved. To have any chance of doing this we need a quality: target man, a creative midfield player, a left back (not Atouba). We also need squad players in certain positions to add competition to places. Having seen Jonas on the right I think he clearly prefers the left & Milner leaving leave us short on the right wing. It's a pity we couldn't get shot of Duff whilst Zog needs to start coming good on early promise. In fact as I look at it there's hardly a position on the pitch where we do not need to strengthen. A few questions: What's the problem with bringing Barton on? He's had no pre season & isn't fit Hence bringing him on. Surely he needs to be eased back into things, which is exactly what we're doing. What was wrong with selling Milner for £12 million? Nothing if we bring in better; at present we have no real wide right option (not Jonas or Geremi) What's the problem with Jonas or Geremi? The pair of them are both better wingers than Milner. Do you honestly think a solid top half of the table finish would not be a decent season? If it was coupled with visible progress Fair comment. Aren't we on the verge of signing a creative midfielder? Are we? Gonzales on loan from Valencia. Why do we need a target man so desperately? Are you being serious? Deadly serious. It's always a good option to have, but wouldn't say it was vital. Do you feel Enrique is a good enough first team left back? Don't know, KK isn't convinced Fair enough. If so, what's the problem with Atouba as back up? Atouba can't defend He can though, ever see him at Hamburg? If anything I'd be more concerned about his consistency and temperament. Are you ever happy? Yes, but you should always want more, stand still and you go backwards Another fair point. There you go Not having a go mate, more curious than anything. Ok no problem. fyiw we shouldn't have had to bring Barton on, Jonas didn't look comfortable on the right & Geremi has no legs. Signing a loan player of questionable ability doesn't cut it with me - I'll be happy to be proved otherwise, Owen & Martins aren't a pair & Viduka will be injured, we do need a target man. I've seen Atouba at Basle & Spurs & he was a loose canon who couldn't defend. The German league is not of good enough quality imo to say whether he can now defend. I'm worried that we have fans who seem happy with what we're doing.

Wow indeed, how on earth can he leave out the only proven goal scorer we have at international level? He'll play Rooney so he'll have to play?......................................Defoe? Oh dear.

There's no loyalty from players & with the club showing little ambition you'd expect a player of Owen's calibre to say bollocks to this I'm off and what's more you couldn't blame him. If we'd tackled this contract issue earlier and made in roads with transfers I think he'd be signed up already & we'd look a far more settled squad.
-
In one sentence: the club progressing aided and given a chance by strengthening the side through a successful transfer window.

Jonas & Collocini are quality, Guthrie is ok. Look at the side we put out against Arsenal & our bench - we have weakened our squad overall. Even when we've had the expected injuries we've been able to put together a better team as a whole. We may get some signings in but personally I'm extremely disappointed in the way the club have gone about things during the summer. I'll repeat Jonas & Collocini look quality but we should be entitled to expect an awful lot more.
-
I'm sure the club didn't go an injury its players to enhance his chances of being started. It's called bad luck... Is it? Have you seen our strikers' injury records? Yes a player getting injured is bad luck. What would you call it? Incompentence. The front men we have are all injury prone; we have needed a target man since Shearer retired and that need has become fairly desperate. It is not bad luck; nothing like bad luck. We are 3 league games into the season & our the size and make up of our squad is simply awful. To have to wait and hope for signings come the last day of the transfer window is shocking. You have to remember here that whilst other clubs may also have struggled to buy that those have started from a stronger position than us, whilst those who were perhaps weaker have managed to stregthen their squads.
-
The side & bench KK had to put out last night was embarrassing. How the fuck did we get in a position where we had to start with a half fit Ameobi is simply beyond me. He isn't even supposed to be still with us. In some ways it doesn't matter who we do or do not sign by Monday night; having to send out Ameobi away to Arsenal is a sign of incompetence by all concerned.
-
Atouba is not we need in a FB.
-
For £12m you could buy two replacements and I'm pretty sure at least one would be as good as or better than Milner. True, but if we don't buy a replacement then it isn't such a good deal.
-
12M is fantastic money; but it is as only as good as the replacement we buy.

i know, i asked him ages ago who she was so i could start hunting her down (not literally ) on the internet but never found out new thread? "find this woman, somebody, pleeeeeeeeeeeease...!" Season Saved.  I feel abused now.
-
Discuss, argue, take the piss and lock the thread. I'm off to bed. Target man & creative midfield player; without these additions we will not finish Top 10 and in the event of a modicum of bad luck we will be in for a long hard season. :frantic: :frantic: :frantic: :frantic: :frantic: :frantic: :frantic: :frantic:

Hope & pray we sign a target man and a playmaker in midfield. Those who are pleased with our summer signings may need to think again. Jonas & Colocinni both look class, Guthrie is ok, Bassong a squad player, this doesn't make a successful spending spree. We are woefully lacking quality and depth in the middle of the park & are very limited up front. Take that into Sept and all it would take would be a couple of injuries to see us limping towards January and a very poor league position. I'm not saying we have 4 days to save our season (what a great panic thread that would make) but we do have 4 days to give us a fighting chance of having a squad strong enough to challenge the top 10.
