he's not what we need & not for 17M
-
KK looked a beaten man on the bench. We need a lift, we need to beat the smoggies.
-
Dennis Wise was a prize prick as a player & a half wit off it. Punching taxi drivers, crazy gang etc. Now he is dof at nufc. Surely there must have been more qualified candidates? KK seemingly knew nothing about the Wise appointment (but presumably knew of the position); Keegan & Wise forming a close relationship? I can't see it. Puzzled.
-
Sib did far better for us than anyone could have expected. Top bloke, average footballer.
-
Potentially yes, he works in the media & as soon as anything looks a bit iffy the media will try & crank it all up via Shearer. There's no better fun for the press than turmoil at nufc. Shearer knows how it works.
-
Legend though he is, there can be little doubt that the most important thing in Shearer's life is Shearer himself & that at times he uses the club & the fans as his vehicle. I get the feeling that he & KK no longer get on very well at all. Keep your friends close your enemies closer. Will KK try & get him in, in a non threatening position so that he can no longer be loose canon in the media?

Big Al has turned down the number 2 position apparently saying it wasn't good for him or the club. Keegan says he still hopes to get Big Al in, in some capacity, Woody's dad says he went to Spurs 'cos Big Al wouldn't take up the number 2 post. Should we not just draw a line under Big Al for the moment? His time will come & do we need his very considerable shadow being caste over the club in the meantime? I for one sometimes get confused over what Big Al's agenda is at times.

Woody was by far the best defender I have seen in my time watching NUFC. I'm disappointed we missed out on a player we wanted as that is not good news; but I don't think he is quite the player he was & he will miss games through injury. All in all it may not be such a bad thing. Hope we don't waste the transfer funds on Chimbonda. Beye has all the qualities needed to be a quality signing & would be better than Chimbonda imo.
-
Could be, but that's what the craic was. KK also seemed resigned to the fact that he lost out
-
A smoggie on another site reckons Woody is believed to be at WHL having his medical.
-
hope it's rubbish - money more important than trophies ffs
-
I voted for Beardo. Gazza had it all & blew it, Beardsley made the most of the very considerable talent he had. Gazza could have been a World Superstar but for that tackle & the fact that he is clearly crackers.
-
Quite simply Woodgate is the best defender I have ever seen in a Toon shirt. Hope he comes & stays fit. That's the gamble.

We tried to play football today but couldn't put the players out to do it. Emre needs a right kicking for getting sent off against Stoke. Enrique at one point gave Given a blasting when he was about to hoof it up field. We need ball playing midfield players.
-
The day he signed as a player I was in Rimini (16 yr old) & I wouldn't believe my Mackem supporting mate's dad that we'd signed him. First game QPR, queuing in the car park outside the old stand, sun shining, can of beer in hand. Standing in the old stand paddock nearest the Gallowgate & that goal. It was the first magical moment of many more to come. We had been rubbish for a number of years prior to that, were a club going nowhere & were light years away from being any kind of big club. It was THE catalyst to all that followed. Simply fantastic, the best by far for me.

Some useless twat on Talksport (Mike Parry that's you) defeated his own argument about us not being a big club by slagging off the 20,000 fans who turned up for Owen's presentation to the media. He then compounded it by not recognising the shite he was spouting out. Successful we not be; Big we surely must be. The rest of the country wants us to fail it seems as after the last time we got too big for our boots. Yeah right Fuck Off. Truth is most people like Keegan & would love us to play similar football to the last time.
-
I was 9 in 1974, Supermac was King, Keegan was the enemy & scored two.
-
Get in. Just hope he brings Shearer & not Coleman who has just resigned in Spain.
-
Clearly, they aren't. Good players perform.
-
He's a coach, clearly shite as a manager. That said what the fuck was Sam doing allowing him to run the touchline during the first half of matches?
-
Pain before pleasure. Sam had to go; today was just an exageration of the mess he's got us in. Consider the rubbish tactics & performances, the undeserved points against Wigan, Fulham, Brum, Derby & be thankful he left us above the drop zone. Mr Ashley, Mr Mort you have a huge responsibility in picking the new man, Redknapp wasn't right, nor Hughes (we shouldn't have lost there & Coventry stuck 4 passed them) & nor is Shearer. Hiddink, Van Gaal or Houllier for me; Mourinho I can live without.
-
I think that display shows what Sam had done to the team & that Pearson knows nowt. Decisions didn't go our way but I have to say again in the scheme of things this may be a blessing. Ashley no knows for certain what a big club is, where we are & what needs to be done.
-
Surely by that linesman's standard Ferdinand was offside?
-
Why are people getting worked up over this result? In even a small scheme of things it doesn't really matter. All I will really say is how on earth was Owen ruled offside - but I guess we know the answer to that. Kalou yards offside Owen level........yawn.
-
I can't believe that Mort/ Ashley would be so niaive to have sacked Sam without thinking Harry was in the bag. Big embarrassments to them both. This is a shambles but not a disaster. Harry wouldn't have been my 1st choice.
