Too early for Shearer far too early. If I were Ashley/ Mort I would n't even consider appointing him. Too many ties to the old regime at the moment. Al needs to come out & clearly say if he would like the job. Staying silent is no help to the fans or the club but it does boost his sizeable ego. I get the feeling that in Al's world he comes a long way first ahead of the club & the fans but he doesn't half know how to play the sheet metal worker's son from Gosforth line.

Any anger should be directed against Mort. Ashley may have given a shopping list; Mort didn't get the goods. Ashley clearly had a more pressing need to be in HK & it is his other interests that give him the cash to indulge in NUFC.
-
Ashley will be pleased he's in HK & not in with the crowd at OT today. Wednesday should be interesting if this mess isn't resolved by then.
-
Sam must be pissing himself this morning; probably already spoken with Harry & will share a glass of wine with him tonight/ tomorrow. Mort needs to pull a rabbit out of the hat now. Ashley must be livid.

Shambles - new regime, same mistakes Piss up/ Brewery springs to mind

Mourinho will have bigger clubs falling over themselves for his services. We are not in his sights. He achieved wonderful results at Porto & Chelsea but you could also say that his style at Porto was cynical verging on cheating & at Chelsea he became very negative. He'd be a gamble same as everyone else.

It is far too early for Shearer. He was playing golf with Fat Fred when he heard of BS's sacking. Why on earth would Ashley want to bring Shearer in when he is still too close to Fat Fred & a lot of the players yet knows nothng of Ashley & his mob? Give it 5 years & better still let Shearer learn his managerial ropes at a smaller club.

Sacking BS at this moment in time is a huge gamble for MA. From hereonin it is not only his club & his money but it will be his manager & his manager's choice of player & team. Brave decision certainly & one that would suggest that he's here long term. Whoever he brings in will need time, we must all give full support & the new manager must be given at least 2 or 3 years. This has to be a new start; we simply can not afford to have another false dawn. Mike Ashley; you've made your first huge decision, good luck. Let's get behind the team. They'll certainly need it over the next few games. Put this post in another thread if appropriate. I just wanted to hi-light the fact the Ashley has well & truly put his head over the parapet & we all need a united front.

only rednapp makes any sense from whats being said but why sack BS now? Madness

We will not get relegated eos

Managers are judged on results & performances; after over 6 months in the job our's are going backwards not forwards & his major signing is in custody. Of course he should be under pressure; we shouldn't be served up shit after 6 months. I'd like to think he can turn it around but he is making it bloody hard for people to support him. Our displays are rank & the players clearly do not like or can perform to the tactics.
-
Professional footballers should be banned from MacDonalds; it invariably leads to them getting into bovver. We should be able to cancel his contract. Gross Misconduct/ bringing the clubs name into disprepute. How can he play for us again? As for BS; as others have said this latest incident may have done for him. MA doesn't need this shit & will not put up with it.
-
Unbelievable; actually sorry I mean predictable; sorry I mean inevitable. Tosser.
-
I want to give him a fair crack; but our performances & tactics are absolute abysmal. He deserves until the end of the season.

Stick with - for now

We are going backwards not forwards at the moment. We played well against Arsenal = 1pt We scored a last minute winner against Brum = 3pts We scored a last minute winner against Fulham = 3pts We scored a goal in the last 2 minutes against Derby = 1pt We lost today = 0 pts We have taken 8 points from 15; it could have easily have been just 3 points from 15 & in a real crisis. The players & majority of the fans are clearly baffled by BS's tactics. We have to stop this long ball, give it back to the opposition shite. He has until May to turn it around as there are many fans around where I sit who are not willing to fork out £600 a season to watch Championship style football.
-
We got 3 points we didn't deserve, kept a clean sheet & have taken an extra 4 points from goals in stoppage time in the last 2 games - let's just take it. Sam will look at those 2 games & see that we didn't play well in either & that had Beye not scored against Brum & had Fulham taken either of the chances we presented to them (as a decent team would have done) we would be sitting with 1 point instead of 6. The defence is going to take some sorting out; the lack of understanding between players is painful at times - somebody has to take charge back there. When you see that we had Cacapa & Beye - both captains at their previous club - playing it is all the more worrying. Roze desperately needs someone to keep him on his toes. We must now go on and beat Derby.

Pele Maradona Zidane All great, all won the world cup, all stood the test of time & at club level were the main influence in their teams & they all won titles at club level. I'd also mention Best, if he'd been English (or Scottish) he would have should his class at international level.
-
It was apenalty - look at this mornings papers. There was no need to make contact with Martins. Roze & Taylor's lack of communication led to their goal. A 60 yard ball should never be allowed to split your centre backs like that - no excuses; bad defending. Barton is way off the pace at the moment as is Geremi. Still we won when a draw would have been a fair result. We have to build on that.
-
Given that he seems quite bright his actions are all the more worrying. Is trying to dare the jury to convict him with his "prison doesn't scare me " talk? Troubled lad indeed
-
Didn't deserve to lose.

I haven't read any posts & don't want to start a new thread. If you were at the match today you will know that the performance today was a zillion times worse than Pompey & as bad as anything served up by Roeder or Souness. BS has to take the blame for what is happening. We have decent players but shocking tactics and players who do not believe in what they are being asked to do. Again, 10 minutes into the game we had players looking at the bench for guidance & got nothing in return. Again, we did not try to win the game & BS had no idea how to turn it around. His substitutions were baffling beyond belief. I am all for giving a man a chance but these last few performances have been coming & the truth is we are simply awful at the present time. Those that say "give it time; you never have any patience; this is a long road" either do not watch the same things that most of us see or do not understand or have played football. Don't bother with platitudes in reply, they will not wash - we are shite & the manager is at fault. He either needs to sort it out by Christmas or he can fuck off. What we are serving up in unacceptable. Am I over reacting? No. Those that have been to the games so far this season come & post your thoughts; let the others know what the reality is. This is teetering on a crisis. MA will not stand for this. I left after the 3rd goal; the earliest I have left a match in 30 years. Disgusted.
