Diddums. Perhaps you've forgotten that they're soon having meetings with people from various fan groups. No, I haven't forgotten but those "ITK" have chosen not to provide any details & seem to be showing a worrying loyalty to MA & a fuck off attitude to those that ask any questions. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the main thing that MA's team hope to get from any meeting is how they can increase revenue streams via the web or other media. If by diddums you mean concerned supporter - yep that's me. I hope that you are ITK as otherwise your blind faith is mystifying.

The media don't really need to try very hard at all to stir things up. The clubs lack of a public face, the manager's clear frustrations with the current situation, recent niggling injuries & the prospect of losing at least one quality player with the "promise" of getting 3 or 4 "quanity not quality" players in is quite sufficient to give fans like me something to worry about. In the last two friendlies we have played Harper as an outfield player & finished the Juve game with a group of academy players. The season starts in 10 days time; let's all hope it all falls in to place. My gripe (& it is growing) is with MA. I don't want chapter & verse over his plans but I do not feel like my support for the club matters to him & that sould concern everyone. He could come out & say that he's not going to saying anything - at least we would all know where we stand. As things are, people are left to speculate & that itself can lead to divisions amongst supporters.

Zog could do a Dyer type role but Sam would need to place a great deal of trust in him.
-
If that's where the Dyer money will go you could say; fair enough - but Dyer was a potential star man, Smith will spend most of his time on the bench. Personally, I'd add the Dyer money to whatever budget Sam's got & go out & pay over the odds for some decent defenders as opposed to paying over the odds for Smith.

Shit for brains & heaps of it.

spot on. Tsunami, if he is s*** domestically, and I mean he was s***, he can't be a success purely based on a few european games even though one was a huge highlight. The league is the bread and butter. If you watched him week in week out, he was utter bollocks, and that determines if someone is a success or not. I used to play Saturday afternoon football at the time so I didn't get to see him game, in game out but we were on Sky almost every other game. He was inconsistent for sure but he did have a knack of creating a spark at some point in a game. Given how good we were, we had a team that could accommodate this. For my money he was a success but I do see your point.
-
May be harsh but apart from taking his penalty well he was fairly anonymous (nice touch to Milner for the pen).
-
I haven't read the posts. Tino was a success; he got blamed in some quarters for us not winning the league but that is bull shit. We bottled it in the end & Cantona embarked on a one man mission to win the league for Manure.

Those who were booing want Dyer to leave & haven't got a brain cell to share amongst themselves. If he is fit & keen he can cause havoc & if they really think we need him out of the club given the current squad we have I worry for their sanity. As a person he clearly has his problems but I'd love him to stay.

The Sunday Sun are also running the same story as the People. This is now heading towards something akin to meltdown & a PR disaster from MA's team.

Has to be bollucks & I hope it is.

I have reset this poll which was listed on 16 July. The results suggested that almost 50% reckoned that MA should complete his review first with around 20% saying they had complete faith in him & he could do as he wished. How do we feel now? Has the meeting with Mort progressed?
-
They are trying to take advantage of the situation. Stuff them. Dyer needs to get his life in order. He has family & kids down in Ipswich so IMO he could gallavant around the Quayside. If he is now missing them so much a) what has changed b) move them up. I believe his sister has been in a spot of bother & he may be getting pressure from family in that regard.

I hope Setanta go bust. I already have a ST & pay for Sky Sports, there is no way that I'm giving Setanta £9.99 for the odd away game which I hopefully see for free on the internet (or go to the pub).

Said everything that basically needs to be said right there. I wonder whether Sam's panorama episode might have made the new board a bit more cautious about fast-tracking deals which is probably what Allardyce is more used to? When you take into account the fact that both the club and the manager were such a big part of the bung investigations, and you add to this the fact that Mort is having a first go at his new role, you would have to imagine that things would be taken very, very slowly. The emphasis is going to be on ensuring there are no similar scenarios in the future. I'm sure the recent police raids at the club would have only further slowed things down and re-emphasized the need for things to be done properly. All very frustrating, but the former regime has to take the blame. All of this was available information to MA & his team before he bought the club. The recent police raid is officially (according to the police as well) nothing to do with the club. None of this can be used as an excuse for the present difficulties Sam is having in the transfer market.

I think that may be giving MA a bit of an excuse. Anyone taking over a football club must have a pretty good idea what it entails. We have a paper thin squad & Sam is quite clearly worried. As things stand I'd take a bet that if FF had still been in charge we'd have made the signings we already have plus some of the other "top" targets Sam wanted. By the way, I'm not saying that I'd prefer that MA hadn't taken over. I just think he needs a bloody good shake. We all live & breathe NUFC, he clearly hasn't got this yet & we can only hope he does. He should get his backside up here & experience first hand what it means to own NUFC. All fair points. I'm sure it takes more than just understanding what the club is about though. From various signals and things have said it's been a right mess to sort out. It has been a mess and will be a mess for some time yet. That shouldn't be allowed to get in the way of the footballing side of things. God help us if we start badly & pick up a couple more injuries. I don't suppose MA would be too happy with 50,000 Geordies singing he's a t*at or we want Shepherd back. Might sound unlikely but if we are a goal down at home to Wigan four games in then it is a distinct possibility.

I think there's a realisation from most now that the transfer window hasn't gone as Allardyce might have liked it. My initial issue with the threads you were starting was the unnecessary "Mr. Ashley, where's your money gone! Show me the money!" stance, when you really had no idea as to whether he was being forthcoming with transfer funds or not, and the "Where are the signings!? I NEED SIGNINGS" outbursts when we basically hadn't got someone in for a couple of weeks. I don't think it's blind faith to preach a bit of patience, especially when it's very clear that the new manager is doing his utmost to get bodies through the door. We all want to see new signings at the club, but pressing the panic button in the first couple of weeks of July and having a go at a new owner who has been at the club for about a month didn't make much sense to me or others it seems. The time to make judgements is when the window closes. Be concerned by all means (I am, it's clear Allardyce is), but don't go daft about it. Not having a go btw, but I'm a bit sick of this talk of "blind faith" syndrome and the I-told-you-so posts. Gemmill, no intention to say told you so to anyone. My and others like mine previous posts did not ask the questions you state above. We just thought it'd be prudent to ask for & expect a little bit of information from MA & his team as opposed to the majority of posts saying it would be ok. Quite why Dave has labelled some members knob heads is a mystery especially as this is attached to a piece that clearly shows that things haven't gone as well as most would have believed.

Seems to me that all those who have expressed certain worries have been correct to do so. Posts around here have argued that all will be ok, that the cash is there & that the takeover wouldn't affect anything. Mort has said that there will be signings but that stupid money (no definition) would not be spent. SA has said that the takeover has caused problems, that the new owners are not adjusted to the pace of things in securing quality players, that he has missed out on his top targets, that he is struggling to sell Newcastle as a club to come to & that the signings he makes will not be of the quality he had hoped for. Those with "Blind Faith" syndrome need to start realising that everything isn't going hunky dorey & whilst this may be a long road that MA has set out upon that short term quick wins are also going to be very important. So far (repeat so far) we have been a damp squib this pre-season. A good start to the season & feel good factor will be pivotal to how quickly we progress. Whether people like it or not we need to qualify for europe & whatever steps/ money etc that is required to achieve this should be as given.

Don't say that, i've had it with false hope He's from Merseyside & Everton are supposedly interested. Given that & the fact that Whelan hates Ashley suggests that we are not exactly in the frame. One thing for sure is that he turned the Mackems down as a better offer is looming. I hope he does sign for us.
-
Oliver made all that "height" s**** up tbh Which begs the question; why isn't Sam interested in him? Can he not defend?
-
Looks like he may be heading to Everton. NB. If, as has been suggested, he is too small for Sam's liking as a FB what is Sam doing saying N'Zogbia may do a job there? Makes his seemingly refusal to consider Baines all the more baffling.

I thought some members wrists needed a break. She will be back.
-
It is stated that a PL defender turned us down when their club were apparently quite happy for them to come to us (sounds more like Heinze or even Dawson rather than the rumoured Yobo). We have struggled to make other breakthroughs in the market & there is no sign of any signing that will "shock world football". I think some people need to remove the rose tainted glasses. The fact is that we are struggling in the transfer market & the attractiveness of the club itself is open to question.

MA has just appointed his own man as Chairman; hopefully all will now become a little clearly.
