No idea why you would read it that way when it says the opposite. I try not to talk in riddles. I would like a bit of an update. What that consists of I'd leave to Mike. The point is he hasn't said a thing since that first statement & things appear to have lost momentum in relation to getting players in. Are you happy to be left in the dark and for things to continue you that way? At some point you will end up with an owner that has alienated himself from the fans & who has the power to sh*t on us as he wishes. We are his customers, without us the product fails as the more lucrative streams of income will in turn fall away. A bit dramatic maybe but he needs to give something. mis reading- was very simple, i was reading your post, didn't see the "don't" and thought you wanted to know how much money was available. "Are you happy to be left in the dark and for things to continue you that way? At some point you will end up with an owner that has alienated himself from the fans & who has the power to sh*t on us as he wishes. " you make it sound like it hasn't been like this for the last 3 years. When did shepheard ever answer any of the above questions, excluding the first one, which was the predictable "champions league football" then "challenge the top 4" then "5th place" and it continued in similar vein. Maybe i'm just used to it, or maybe i don't care what he says as the last owners words meant f*** all. Or maybe i don't find these things too important. unbelievable highlighted a few good questions, and a few pointless ones, but i don't really have any desire to know the answers to any of these at the present time, excluding the two mentioned in the post above, and if he doesn't want to answer these now i won't lose any sleep over it. Shepherd didn't own the club; it was plc. FF put money where his mouth was & did try to talk up the club. There is no doubt he cared. There is also no doubt that he could be incredibly stupid and incompetent. MA does own the club, we have no right as share holders to get any questions answered. This places, IMO, a responsibility on him to give us some information. In the unlikely case that MA gets news of the views on here he'll be delighted that supporters really don't care if he tells them anything or not; and you can guarantee that he'd choose not too.

best LB on FM that'll be good enough for some of the 'tards on here. Can we have any post that refers to FM as any kind of reliable source of a player's ability struck out? Luque is apparently a world beater on it. Anyway, Maicon isn't on the list & we haven't got a chance of getting him but hey who cares?. He looked fantastic for Brazil and has the physique that Sam seems to go for. I'll bet he's the dogs b's on FM.......... I'll edit this to confirm that he can play LB although he did play RB for Brazil.

I think people are misunderstanding what I'm trying to get across. I don't want world shattering signings, I don't expect to win the league - I don't expect us to win anything. I don't want MA to come out and say what money is available & I don't want us to pay over inflated prices for players that don't improve the current squad. I would like to know a bit more about the plans the new owner has for the club I love. More so now, given that the new manager seems a little agitated about his efforts to strenghten the team. Time ticks on, the season start does draw closer. Stephen Carr played RB last night & Baba is our 1st choice LB. what hasn't he said that needs to be said? what over inflated transfer fees have we paid? would you preffer it if he came out and said "i've told sam i will pay up to 8 million for cannavaro, he thinks he can get him for 4.5 though" "whats that, real are saying they won't accept a penny less than 8million for cannavaro, how odd". give me one other chairman who has said how much money is available. Villa chairman? i don't think so. Spurs? nope. West ham? more than other clubs can afford, but no specific figure. You are not even reading what I post!

It was nothing personal. Nothing I ever say is. I was referring to your message board opinions. If that is an apology; I accept it. Your post referred to me as opposed to the opinions expressed.

You know nothing about me & I'm cool with that. You need to grow up son.

?? This is a poll & my observations on the poll as it stands. I can hardly place my observations on the poll within another thread. Your post was very helpful - how did you vote by the way?
-
I don't understand why around 50% of votes ar being protective of a new owner who we know very little about & where we have an equally new manager who is seemingly also in the dark & getting a little frustrated. MA said part of the reason for choosing Newcastle was the passion of the fans; he is hardly helping to fuel it. We were delisted today, it would be too much too expect any statement though & it seems we agree; why should he?
-
Now do we know that for sure, or was it more a case of us already having Woodgate he felt he didn't need him. Also, the year before he went to Rangers, Houllier tried taking him to Liverpool for around £6m. You can't have too many good players especially if they're free. SBR didn't rate him. He was a Bosman...same with Ballack, Ben Haim, Geremi... So sign him up - we had the chance And first thing he realises is the sh*t we've been left in in terms of defenders by the time he came in. So he signs Boumsong? Highly-rated at the time, would have had 4-5 years left on his contract, and as already mentioned, Liverpool nearly spent £6m on him when he only had a year left to run on his contract. Far, far too much money. Highly rated in Scotland, taken apart against Yeading. At least there's something we can agree on. And for those that say Souness was rated a Top Boss, the truth was that he was on the verge of getting the sack at Blackburn. This all may have nothing to do with the current goings on but are people really defending Boumsong & Souness?
-
I'm not asking how much money we have to spend or posting a poll on where we will be at the season start. I was simply trying to gauge how people felt at this point in time. Sam is now saying he has missed out on all his top targets because of the takeover & yet the concensus seems to be let MA get on with his review. I find this a little strange. I would love to have more information & the little soundbites coming from Sam & the recent lack of transfer activity suggests that there is a blockage of some kind in the way.
-
We had the excitement of the takeover, we have been told that Mike would like to make a signing that would shock world football & that he wants NUFC to be a world force. Through his right hand man, Mort, we have been told "money" is available but we also know an internal review is taking place. Sam has stated that his priority is to get the defence sorted & he will convince the money men if that is what it takes. So far we have been linked with superstars, given a trial to a free agent, spent a net amount of less than 2M & have made 4 decent acquisitions. Today the fraud squad paid a visit. So what do you think? We all want the best for the club & I think most agree that Sam is doing what he can but may currently have restraints. What should Mike Ashley do now, if anything?
-
Can it be that simple? If you had asked any Newcastle supporter which transfer they would query the most following the Panorama programme we would all say without hesitation - Boumsong. SBR didn't think he was good enough on a free. Rangers sign Boumsong for nowt Souness becomes our manager We spend 8M on Boumsong shortly afterwards Boumsong is crap This made either SBR or Souness a terrible judge of a player or suggested that the latter may have had an agenda. You have to assume that Souness does know a good footballer when he sees one. I hope our private thoughts are true as it will explain quite a bit of the mess he made with the squad & wipe that smug look off his face when he talks about his time at the club. I felt taken for an idiot at the time. To what extent, if any, FF is implicated is anyones guess but he must be sweating.
-
So if anyone does know anything & seeing as this has started to rear it's head out in the public domain can they either post it or PM me. No more secret society.
-
He wasn't the one who let Luque ghost in behind him & score from 4 yards out I hope.
-
MA's not a reclusive billionairre; he is an under cover cop & we've been caught in a sting. That's why Sam has been picking up free agents & we've been linked with unrealistic transfer targets.
-
Titus Bramble hasn't been downloading stuff from the Internet has he?
-
At the moment he is must be in with a big shout. I wouldn't want a goal keeper as captain & thereafter we are not exactly spoilt for choice - Owen & Barton may have claims but would either, for differing reasons, be that good of a choice?
-
why is taylor in this team? hes the only player that lets it down your havin a laugh..........one of our few gd players players last yr besides milner, oba, given u stupid? this team has 8 new players in from last season so why would i be 'havin a laugh'? Sorry, didn't quite grasp that that was our team. Bloody Hell it looks good.

I have just come back in after posting that hypothetical conversation about Ronaldinho/ Messi/ Cannavaro etc at 8.30am this morning & I am greeted with this headline. Will someone have a word with someone up at Barrack Road. I have mackem mates having a laugh at us & rightly so.
-
Embarassing, tbh. In your other thread, you were crying that we weren't linked with Deco any more in the papers. Now we're linked with UBERDECO and you're upset about that. You're just a whinger at the moment. Also, it's the NOTW. It's not true. Relax. I have never whinged about not being linked with Deco anymore. I have queried why we were being linked with top players, giving trials to others & being in pole position for average PL players. I asked the question what is MA all about & it remains more so valid today.
-
If this is true we are beginning to look bloody stupid. Giving trials to free agents one week & going after Ronaldinho the next. Sam knows he needs to sort out the defence & if we do have that kind of cash, splash it wisely & then the trophy players will want to come once we are a viable proposition for them. Other clubs are signing players; we are continuing with Jackanory stories at best & self indulgency on the part of MA at worst. Nobody has a clue what MA is all about & I find this latest story cringeworthy. Sam - "So Ron, how do you fancy playing for the Toon?" Ron - "Fuck off" Sam - "Mike, told you what he'd say" Mike - "Ok Sam; go & buy Queuedrue & then give Messi/ Kaka etc a call & see if they fancy it" Sam - "I'd rather try & get Micah Richards or Ledley King in" Mike - "Nah, you can ask about Puyol or Cannavarro & if they say no you can go & buy Luke Young" Let us hope this is not how it is going. The point is we don't know & surely we must start asking questions. Is that not reasonable? This is not Chicken Little panicking; though I do expect many posts saying don't worry it'll be alright. I'd rather know what was coming over the horizon rather than bury my head in the sand & hope it is all ok.

I almost give up. We could have checked basic fitness levels before he came over. If Sam fancied him his current fitness levels would have been taken into consideration & he would have been given a week or two. Sam wasn't at training for his first day. His fitness would not improve in the two days he was there. Conclusion: Sam didn't really fancy him but through circumstance made him give it a half hearted shot Question: Why did Sam have to go down this route?
-
I think you have answered your own question. I think you need to stop smoking crack. ? Hands up if your think we should be giving trials to overweight & unfit players? Sam wasn't even there to see him the first day. Complete waste of time. What?.. that's the point of a trial for f*** sake! Until you give a player like this a trial you won't know for sure if they're unfit or what other problems they might have. Duscher is obviously a player Allardyce has seen in the past and been interest in. But given the problems he's had at Depor (lack of fitness ect) and the fact he's been released it was decided to give him a short trial to see if he's still the same player or not. Obviously he isn't the same player and so he was sent away. Exactly the way a trial should work.. again, what on earth are you complaning about? oops i missed this post by tsunami. as said, whats the point of a trial if you cant find out stuff like this. sam doesn't have an all seeing magic eye of players fitness that enables him to know whether a player he hasn't even met has let himself go a bit, the guy had just been on holiday as well. We didn't know he was overweight and unfit, that was the porpoise of the trial, to find out stuff like that, and when we did, he was sent packing. The point is we should have known he was overweight & unfit & we could have done some homework before inviting him over - the Depor forums suggested this & no-one else has offered the guy a trial. Get real please. Why are we in a position where we had to invite an unfit player over for a trial? Please don't reply along the lines that the Depor forums are neither here nor there. If Sam had fancied him he'd have given him at least another week. It was a pointless excercise & raises questions over why we even considered that route. Surely you can see that?
