Wow. Hadn’t had a kick up to then.

So with Havertz getting dogs abuse from his own fans does that mean that Arsenal will be forced into buying a striker in this window? Hopefully over priced and not the type they need.

Their LB (number 30) looks like he could be a player. Tall, comfortable on the ball and looked fairly quick. Don’t know how old he is but he looks like he’s playing below where he could be. He’s the lad who smashed the ball in late on.
-
He’s so much stronger than last season; we’ve got a player on our hands. He’s a number 6 for me, he can cover ground without being quick and he’s a passer rather than a ball carrier. If we have to sell because of PSR and want pure profit, we sell Longstaff every time. At 18 years old Miley has a huge ceiling. In a system that suits him he’ll be top class. Give him a yard of extra pace over the 1st 10 yards and a bit of controlled aggresyanf he’s got the potential to be different level.

I really don’t see the appeal of the Arena site. It’d cost a fortune, the infrastructure surrounding it would need a complete rework. You might get a good view coming in from the South by rail or Redheugh but that’s it. It’s bad enough getting around there with a 11k arena, I can’t imagine how you’d cope with 65-70k piling out.

Worried in case they have to pay for extra time/ tea is on/ bus is due/ back shift.

Batty was the destroyer/ disrupter in 2 Top Division winners for 2 separate clubs (obvs Leeds the season before football began). Every top team needs a player like him to allow the more creative players to perform. Tiote is probably the next best we’ve had but he was levels below Batty. I don’t think Batty gets the recognition he deserves Tonali could perhaps do the role but they are different players. We’ve all seen Hall, he’s become an England international with us and will be for years to come. He’s the best left back we’ve had since Alan Kennedy. I’m baffled how anyone else can be picked ahead of him. How many games he’s played is irrelevant when you can see class. Tony Green being a prime example.

Any 11 has to include Woodgate, Beardsley and Ginola. All 3 were a class apart. As a team I’ll go: Pope, Tripps, Botman, Woodgate, Hall, Ben Arfa, Batty, Lee, Ginola, Beardsley, Shearer. Botman and Woodgate would be a fantastic pairing, Hall is already worth a place. You need a player like Batty and Lee’s running and ability to score was top notch. I’m a bit torn on how Ben Arfa would fit in and Nobby could easily be swapped in as a team player and top talent. Beardsley was simply next level and you could put him with Shearer, Ferdinand or Cole and guarantee goals. Not so sure how he’d work with Isak, I feel Isak works better up top alone and links other players in. One thing for sure, there’s some great players to choose from.

If we’re not getting a fee then surely only Dubs can be pushing this? Moving in this window could be a part of the contract he’s being offered in Saudi. He’s no spring chicken. We can’t be looking at extending his contract for more than a year (hopefully we just release and replace in the summer). There’s absolutely no incentive for us to let go? -
Jo was nearer, running towards the player and the ball was blasted at him. Wolves can count themselves lucky with that one.
-
He’s only moving on if we’ve agreed a pay off with him.
-
They’ve been doing it at home games as well with those who have a physical plastic ST. Know someone who has one, ticket showed red and they were asked for ID. Guess they are going after touts with physical tickets for home games. The away ticket check is set up to strip supporters of points where points are being harvested. I’m not particularly against that but how it’s being done doesn’t sit right.
-
Ange actually corrects himself a couple of times and says “if all things were fair and equal”. Should have pushed him on “fair”.
-
Ref did well not giving handball, don’t think Gordon was ever getting a penalty. Think he also was right in not giving Bruno’s free kick for running into his opponent and I did think 10 mins was pretty fair. Booking Botman for Maddison running into him was ridiculous and he missed at least 2 nailed on yellows for Spurs players.
-
I’d be really surprised if he started. If Tripps is fit I’d start Tripps with Kelly RCB and tell Tripps to talk Kelly through the game. He’ll need the practice for the Arsenal game as surely Botman sits that one out and starts against Bromley or comes on at 60 mins.

If we can contain Maddison and Kulusevski we really should have enough to win. An early goal would be massive. Ange ball can hurt us. We were poor at home against Spurs, Maddison found too many pockets of space early on. Need to frustrate him and he’ll likely spit the dummy out.
-
See they’ve got this as a Cat A game, some of the ticket prices are ridiculous. Has to be aimed at the tourist market. They’ve definitely got the players to hurt us if we allow them too much space.
-
At this point teams are just expecting to concede at corners. Good hit Martinelli
-
Same goal he scored against us

We’ve got to be pretty ruthless in our business and if that includes “reasonable” sweeteners to make it happen, so be it. Miggy and Targett really need moved on somehow and as for Isaac Hayden, I mean, good luck to him but, jeez, that contract he’s got. We need to get ahead of the game with PSR and know where we’ll be in any 12 month period (or more). We can’t be left in another situation where we’re touting players we’d rather keep in a come and get ‘em frenzy to meet requirements. Easy to say, very hard to do.

TBF we could have played Shelvey in goal these last 4 games and we’d be discussing if he should be England’s No 1.
