I lived a couple of Terraces back from the ground for a while and used to go to the annual Callers Pegasus games way before I lived there. Local cricket up here has strong and well established teams and leagues. It should stay that way. Durham are the NE team, many a Geordie have represented them and Durham has produced a string of England players. We should support them. The ECB did their best to completely fuck Durham over up here in the far north. Would be lovely to be ruffle some feathers. Never forget the below and this doesn’t even cover the ECB encouraging Durham to expand in order to achieve Test status in the first place or the fact that ECB advised Durham to turn down a 4M private investment to manage the debt in favour of their so called bail out. https://amp.theguardian.com/sport/2016/oct/03/durham-relegated-financial-struggles

I’d much rather PIF bought The Falcons and helped them and injected cash / sponsored Durham CCC. Be lovely to see them challenging again after the ECB screwed them over. Any PIF involvement in Durham CCC would mess with Mackem heads as an added bonus. The money would be a drop in the ocean for PIF and be good for sports fans across the NE.
  4. TNT Sports 3 @ 8pm. Hi lights of the Feyenoord v NUFC Champions League match.
  5. We could have played all night and not scored at home to Wet Spam; just weird.
  6. An early goal for us would huge. Can see them with a low block to protect their midfield and attempt to release their wide players. We need to be disciplined but also find a way to get at Erikson and Casemiro without leaving gaps. On paper we win this, play to our strengths without falling to a sucker punch.
  7. Angel Gomes is a good 8 inches short of being an Eddie Howe type player. If he came on a free I’d be looking to flip him but he’d no doubt be on a big salary. Avoid.
  8. We’ll find a way to lose, we always play the occasion at OT no matter how bad Man U are (same at Anfield). We have to get at them and don’t let them settle into the match. Avoid early yellow cards and we should be able to control midfield. Let’s imagine we’re playing at Portman Rd again. Approach it like we did at Everton away and we’ll concede at least one.
  9. It’s terrible PR but I’m staggered if Bryan Robson and Denis Irwin are in need of charity or what a portion of 40k would do for their particular plight.
  10. Why was Rogers given a free ride in the media for trying to get Joelinton sent off and McGinn immediately getting into Taylor’s ear for well over a minute?
  11. Here’s 2 frames from the initial stamp. Schar has just cleared the ball and nearly caught Duran in the nuts. In the 1st frame Duran’s whole momentum is going to the left, his left foot is going left. In the next frame he’s looking at Schar and you can see his left foot moving towards Schar’s backside. He catches Schar, rolls his foot and instead of just falling to his left and manages to stamp on his back.
  12. Looks to me like he intentionally gets Schar with his left as he appears to move his foot to connect with Schar. This in turn rolls his ankle and if he’d just let momentum take him he’d have fallen to his left, there was no need to plant his right boot. The more I look at it the more it looks like it took a bit of effort to stop his momentum to catch Schar with his right.
  13. They’d had a tendency to occupy the same positions on the pitch. Bruno might say he prefers playing higher up the pitch but he was forever dropping back to collect the ball. I had the feeling Bruno felt he was being pushed out of “his” position. Fwiw? Tonali is by far the better suited to the deeper position.
  14. His mobility and athleticism at a 6 is different level to Bruno. I still feel there is a little “clash” between the 2 as Bruno sees himself as a 6. If and when they click and become comfortable in the system, we’ll have a midfield to be reckoned with. Add a top RW option and we’ll cause all kinds of problems.

There’s something about playing in a full stadium. It affects both home and away teams, it creates better atmosphere. I think we’d struggle to get an extra 20k there every match. For for all those saying they’ll go given a chance, I’d be fairly confident that after a few years of not winning a lot would pack in any ST they had and would pick and choose individual games to attend. I reckon 70k would be about right and that would be with a view for catering for non football events as well. It has to be multi purpose.
  16. Ange can’t possibly survive can he? This is embarrassing; you simply can’t use the same tactics against a decent side.
  17. So, is there any point In Spurs playing Lpool in a 2 legged semi final? Gotta pray Lpool play their youth side.
  18. Did they just hold their post match press conference at the SOL?
  19. The way he says Mo Salah when he shoots is quite possibly the worst thing I’ve ever heard. Please, end it.
  20. Clearly playing for a January move along with Isak.
  21. Yeah, looks like he couldn’t do much else with it.
