Trying to take a step away, we’ve over achieved so far and FFP has us tied up in knots. Our squad isn’t deep enough and we have players in our best 11 who really shouldn’t be there. It’s hard to accept but there we are.

Never a pen

Hasn’t Isak done that before this season?
-
Far too sloppy in possession, can’t get a shape out of possession. The midfield just isn’t working, they either need to sort out how to compliment each other; somehow.
-
Jackson is rolling Burn and Schar for fun. Not good enough.
-
That was prime Shelvey tracking back.
-
Burn having a kebab or something there?

At this stage he’s of no value to us, in fact he may as well be Isaac Hayden. Love the guy but he’s a drain on our wage bill, seriously, there’s no injury as such but he can feel a tightening……I was all for keeping him but he’s having the life of Riley at our expense.

Loving that physio’s mullet.

Might be petty but the free kick that created the goal was taken 10 yards from the foul. Ref generally gave them a free kick for every tumble with the one against Gordon being a complete shocker. Must have given 4 free kicks where a Brighton player was throwing themself down before any minimal contact.
-
Better display than against Everton but we’re struggling to take chances. Isak is out of form, can’t get involved and Barnes and Willock don’t get regular starts. Brighton were ordinary at best. We could have played another 90 minutes and not scored.
-
True though. I really hope we don’t go up, we have made huge steps but we need at least 2/3 years at this level with year on year progress.

First decent hit of the ball.

Trying to watch this but it’s dreadful so far.

It was a shocking header mind. Think it’s safe to say it’s not a strength.
-
Well, experiment or no, that was awful.

Fulham were a much better side, had pace and pressed us. The other thing to mention is that Everton didn’t play out from the back, we couldn’t press, couldn’t get them out of position high up and we gained the ball inside our own half almost every time. Howe got it wrong and should have been able to work it out. Think I’d have had someone in as a 10 early 2nd half and see what Everton did.

We didn’t have a shot on target after Gordon’s penalty miss in the 35th minute. Gordon booted one over and Bruno shovelled one over where he really should have done better. A look at the passing maps shows that we were largely playing sideways and backwards from the halfway line up to their box (due to low block). Despite what’s being said we struggled to make chances through our patterns of play. We were one mistake or Pawson awarding a penalty (which wouldn’t have been overturned) from losing a game where the opposition were dreadful. I’m not having we played well, we played comfortably and it wasn’t enough. Down to tactics for me, couldn’t get through a Dyche low block with a make shift back 4.
-
67% possession, expected goals 1.73, including the penalty, 3 shots on target. Dyche will be delighted, we didn’t manage to disrupt their shape or have any sustained pressure in the final 3rd. Everton didn’t press, didn’t commit players forward and were reasonably comfortable. I’d have had Willock on earlier for Tonali & Barnes had to stay on, he’s the player who would have taken a chance. Two points dropped, no doubt about it.
-
I’m struggling with those who thought we played well. Everton sat back, allowed us time on the ball and we created very little. We were far too slow with ball across the middle and just didn’t get at their back 4 who are dog awful. Bruno and Tonali should be destroying an opposition like that.
-
Poor result in all honesty. Everton were terrible.
-
Keep at it and we win. Awful penalty, he didn’t look at Pickford who was already fully committed and on his way by the time Gordon hit the ball.

Would it be possible to move a bit north, start building the far end of a new stadium and start the south end at the end of a season by demolishing the Leazes end? Would it then be possible to start the next season in new stadium whilst building work continues on the South end? If the new stadium is to hold say 70k would you then be able to accommodate all the ST holders in the half built new stadium?

Looked off tbh.
