I get that but he should have license to pick and choose. He tried to play one into Bruno’s feet in the 2nd half where Pirlo would have struggled to make the pass. Risk and reward, it’s not just us, it’s just crazy how many teams are asking their keeper to pick a pass to a player under pressure 25 yards out from goal right bang in the middle of the pitch. The keeper then gets pelters when it goes wrong.

Watched most of the game. We’ve 2 or 3 players who can play, generally we look quick and strong. The keeper looks a huge upgrade however, our finishing was awful and that will cost us against better sides. You have to take your chances. There’s a few positions where we need upgrades, feels like we’d benefit from 2 or 3 seasons in this division, building year on year.

As much as I dislike Bruno F I don’t think that was a red. He slipped, he goes to make the foul and gets Maddison mid shin. There’s no real force as he’s lost all momentum. I’d have been ok with a high, dangerous tackle on Maddison from Bruno F but it just wasn’t.

If Roger’s did only cost 8M he’s a steal.

It’s a penalty; despite the fact that Gordon’s touch was pony. There’s contact and he’s impeded. Not sure why MOTD didn’t analyse Walker clattering into Big Jo shortly after, absolutely no intention of going for the ball.

Just seen Palmer’s 3rd goal. How on earth is he allowed to take the free kick from there? He’d never have tried a shot if he’d been made to take it from where the foul took place.

He got caught in 2 minds with that fluffed pass and the chance wasn’t the easiest. He had to come on as Bruno, Jo & Tonali were all on yellows. None of them could make a tackle “for the team” to break up a City break and Tonali was also out on his feet. He did a job when he came on, he covered ground and didn’t hide. He’s got a part to play and he needs our support as opposed to incessant criticism for what he can’t do.

His pre match warm up didn’t suggest any issues with his shoulder. I got in really early today and him, Dubs & Ruddy were already out going through drills. He dropped a few crosses under pressure from Ruddy. Wouldn’t fancy a clip off Ruddy mind. He’s a bit of a unit.

I watched him do a 10 minute drill pre match where he had to control a pass and hit out to the left, middle and right off either foot. He did ok but the drill needs to include someone closing him down. His shop stopping by far out weighs his skills with his feet. We should allow him to hit long more often. Asking him to play a difficult pass into Bruno’s feet who is shouting for the ball with an opposing player rapidly closing him down is just asking for trouble.

He needs to come out and apologise for that. Utterly uncalled for and disrespectful. I’d be furious if it was the other way around.

Moreno got away with taking throws ins like that all game against us. Every one was a foul throw.

Have you seen how he runs and how uncoordinated he is generally with his arms? Its pretty remarkable, I’d love to see him with a golf club.

He needs to be told he’s playing on the right and to suck it up and be professional. If he asks why then show him his finishing compared to Barnes’. If he does want to leave, let him go and use the money to buy someone who does want to play RW. I’m hoping it’s just a blip but he’s a shadow of last season with the most noticeable difference being attitude.

He’s quite a bit off the pace at the moment. Anyway, came on to say, again, he often strikes the ball like he’s pushing it with his foot. It’s how he gifted the 3rd goal, you expect him to ping it or strike through the ball and instead he looks like he’s shovelling coal. It’s very annoying.

It’s the lack of any urgency that’s really worrying for me. If you’re not at absolute 100% most PL sides will run past you in transition and will have time to organise when out of possession. Something needs to happen, we don’t look like a happy team just now.

You’d expect that to be given tbh.

Think I’d start with Gordon on the right and switch perhaps for 10/ 20 mins during the match to mix it up. I’d worry moving Barnes to the right will take away his goal threat whereas Gordon isn’t the goal taker Barnes is and would still be able to produce chances from the right. Gordon doesn’t score that goal against Wolves, Barnes might well have put the ball inside the post when Gordon hit the post (obvs assuming he could have made that chance).
