It’s a great deal, even when Chelsea buy him for 70M or more next close season.
-
Great business tbf. Hope there’s a sell on or buy back clause; good luck to the lad. The number crunches must be hugely relieved.
-
Can we value Anderson at 30M and Forest Elanga at say 35M and pay the difference in the same as 25M v 30M would work. We’d benefit an extra 5M pure profit on Anderson and FMV aren’t going to argue the toss?

If we don’t sell anyone by Sunday I guess the pressure to sell someone we’d rather keep will have largely gone; damage been done We really could do with avoiding a points deduction as that’ll cause difficulties in reaching Europe next season which in turn makes it harder to keep our better players and attract others. As much as we might not to, we need to have been telling some players they aren’t needed and telling them and their agents earlier. It seems a bit of an avoidable mess.

Pretty sure there were some ITK posters a while ago saying Gordon to Liverpool was very possible. Then again, throw enough darts and one will hit. What this absolutely should show is that PSR is a joke and unfair. If we do end up selling someone on the cheap to meet the rules we should everything possible to argue it is patently unfair. What’s more, the American owners are meanwhile trading players like its American Football in almost a closed shop bubble.

When Barnes played he largely did what we expected he would and probably better tbh. Crucial against West Ham and the finish into the bottom corner was as fantastic.
-
Gotcha, hope they boycott that 👍.

As it stands we get Slovakia according to BBC. Jammy as it gets. If we beat them we then get Scotland.
-
It’s not a dead rubber, we need to win the group looking at the 2 sides of the draw.
-
We have to get Foden at 10, put Gordon or Eze on and take Gallagher off and put Bellingham in there. Having said that, Bellingham has been invisible and you could easily take Rice off instead of Gallagher. Hope Shaw is fit for the next round as we desperately need a left footed LB.

Around 17/10 for a Hungary win looks good value to me.

Quick comparison, both have dodgy hamstrings, one is 5 years older. I actually love Wilson but I’d roll the dice on DCL.
-
DCL should be approaching his prime years. He played for England 3 years ago, scored something like 4 goals in 11 games. He’s had injury and mental health issues, he looks a little fragile. The lad is 6”2”, good in the air, seems mobile, can hold the ball up. If we agree a decent price, give him the support he needs and don’t need to push him for game time, we could get a bit of a bargain. Who knows on that. What we do know is that Wilson is 33 in February and his body is failing him. He wants game time and he will miss games. I’d want to keep him another year accepting he’d get limited but important game time. I think the reality is that bringing DCL in, letting Wilson go and see if we can bring a prospect in, would be good business. Wilson’s contract ends in 2025, if we’ve got suitors now is the time to sell and he gets a final pay day.

What’s happening with Arbitration?

It’s was Topley not Wood.
-
Mark Wood just taken a wicket and Sky show a bloke in a Mag top, gravy all o’er his top.
-
Seems widely accepted on RTG that the Seagull Wanker is a Mag. You’d think they’d chase him out of town given he lives on Rover Avenue and must be able to see both Roker Park and The SOL from his bedroom window. Could’ve had a few Seagulls around during matches having a tug. Given how many threads they have about wind milling Mags it’s all a bit baffling.
-
I was also looking at it from Everton's pov and profit on DCL? Is 37M for each player better than say 25M?
-
Only way we pay 37M for DCL is if we get the same or a bit more for Minteh and it all helps with PSR.
-
You would hope we have a reasonable buy back/ sell on clause. In that case it’s probably a good solution to tick a few boxes. Young player gets game time in the league, helps PSR and we get either a % of future sale or the option to bring him back. Have to say if I were Minteh I’d be unimpressed with us and generally it’s farcical that we have to act this way.
-
I’ve never thought of Kilman as more than ok. Having said that he’s 6”4” and we know what Eddie likes. Anderson lacks a bit of pace but I do think he has a higher ceiling than he’s shown. He needs regular football. Think fans of other clubs could be guilty of underestimating him.
-
I’d be happy with that as well I think. Would mean Isak and DCL (if signed) not being injured at the same time for more than a couple of games or so. We can’t be having Gordon forced to play through the middle, as an option it’s ok, as a forced change it isn’t great.
-
If we sign DCL he’ll (hopefully) not have the pressure to play when not fully fit as he’s had at Everton. He’s 27, Wilson turns 33 in February I think. Regardless of what happens with Minteh (who it looks we are prepared to sell) I’d buy DCL at the right price and if Wilson feels he has to move so be it. If the squad size and FFP allows I’d be happy to have all 3 for a season. We struggled badly last season up top, Isak, DCL & Wilson as options for a year would be pretty tidy and we see what we need the season after. Regarding Minteh, we sell with a reasonable buy back clause and sell on clause. Chances are he’d be loaned out otherwise or spend most of his time on our bench and his stock would fall. Let some other club bring him on and we can see what we’ve got. Play it smart and we get make this work.

Nah, Tiote’s was just wrong.
