  1. Don’t think it would over complicate. In many ways it makes it easier as you know what part of the body (foot) you are drawing the line from and it also more accurately (imo) reflects if any advantage has been gained, which is the whole point really. You don’t get a false start in the 100m just because your head or shoulders are ahead of everyone else.
  2. I’d like to try that outside of the 18 yard box that you’re only offside if your foot is ahead of the defender, as you get the advantage of running or shooting, ahead of the defender. Any other part of the body doesn’t matter. When was the last time you saw a goal scored by a knee, shoulder or even a header from outside the 18 yard box? Getting caught offside, 40 yards out, because your chest or top of the arm is ahead of the defender is bollocks. There’s no advantage.
  3. Haha, he commented as if they were Brazil and we were there as a play thing. Some of his drawl was embarrassing. Best of all he got Bruno mixed up with Jo so many times it was comical. Assuming this has already been mentioned?
  4. We’ll get overrun from around the 70 min mark. Chucking it down with rain and tired legs. They have bench options, we don’t.
  5. Wilson is absolutely made of glass now. He’s now a problem that we must solve. He can injure himself getting out of bed these days.
  6. Gibbs-White would be fantastic in our set up.
  7. Wan Bassaka actually ran away from him, unbelievable.
  8. The scousers are usually very up for this game, even when we’ve been awful. It’s not like playing (no disrespect intended) Wolves or Fulham or even sides like West Ham. They take joy in beating us and we generally find a way to oblige.
  9. I think that ball was out tbh. There’s a frame where you can see the “left” edge of the ball on the boot and can’t see any of the “right” edge, the very next frame you can see it. Cant say conclusively that it was out but I reckon it was. Shame.
  10. We’re a long term project, we’re ahead of schedule. Now until the end of the season will be interesting on the playing side (and what Ashworth decides if Man U come calling). PIF will be looking at what needs doing and in what order. Eddie has a big few months coming up, he’ll have a fair idea of which players he’ll have back and when. Intensity is our identity needs a plan b and c if we are to become a perennial top 4/ 6 contender.
  11. His pressing and enthusiasm is great. His decision making is poor and his shooting is predictable. More importantly, a top 6 side shouldn’t be playing a wide player where the opposition know that all they need to do is show him the line and he’ll turn around and play a simple ball back or inside looking for a wall pass down the line, inside the full back. There’s levels of being one footed, I’ve never seen a pro seemingly afraid of using their weaker foot. Until now.
  12. That’s what I was getting at, Gibbs-White, in possession, battered Bruno and Longstaff was way off helping out. Miley couldn’t be expected to help and Jo was on the bench. I was hugely impressed with Gibbs-White, well disciplined out of possession and very progressive in possession.
  13. Gibbs-White stuck very close to him today and in possession Bruno was out paced by him. Bruno needed Longstaff to help him out and unfortunately Longstaff was way off the pace today.
  14. Chronic lack of pace in midfield cost us big time today. Once they managed our early press and worked out where to counter attack us, they destroyed us with their pace in wide areas. Miggy’s lack of a right foot and decision making was almost comical. Longstaff was ineffective (not match fit?). Miley was our best midfielder, that should not happen. Forest came out in the 2nd half, having refined where they needed to hit us and should have scored 4 in the next 25 minutes. Howe lost tactically today, the better side won. We need a boost, the players lost belief far too quickly.
  15. We’re seeing the accumulation of months of injuries, lack of options and playing players who aren’t 100% fit. It becomes debilitating and affects the starting 11. Let’s get enough players available to be able to have options and see where we are. I can’t remember any side having an injury list comparable to ours.
  16. Was absolutely class, we had 12-14k there and completely drowned out the Kop. Bus windows put out, hell on afterwards in between the terraced houses. Hanson and either Gillespie or Lawrenson (can’t remember who played) were allowed to kick lumps out of our forwards all night.
  17. FA Cup 3rd round on a Friday night, KK’s was exceptional. Largely down to us. YouTube it, live on BBC as well
  18. Made some really poor decisions lately. I think he was trying to make a controlled header so he could boot it away. Got it horribly wrong, should have just headed it for a corner; he’ll know that.
  19. I just think it’s a perfect game for Chelsea. Less pressure, at home and we’ve been poor away.
  20. Can’t see how we win this. They’ve put a really strong team out. We’re going to have to score first and hope for some luck.
  21. The League Cup has been devalued in the last 10-15 years because of TV and money. You never used to see weakened sides. We need to start winning things as opposed to qualifying for things. There’s a huge difference, last February showed that. We lost a final more or less on belief.
