  1. Shouldn’t try and label brothers in order, Matty was labelled better than Sean, Josh better than Jacob Murphy, Justin was said to be the best of the Robson brothers. The list goes on, let’s be happy that Lewis looks a prospect and hope all his brothers make it. I do wonder if Lewis could benefit from a running coach, might also benefit Bruno. He runs like he’s got skis on doing a Nordic event, very weird action (Lewis that is).
  2. I know they were different windows but I do find it a bit strange that we didn’t (that we know of) go for Paqueta when he was clearly available and then spent big money on Tonali. This isn’t a debate about who is the better player, we don’t know, and it may have about priorities but, you can’t help feel we missed an opportunity.
  3. His football intelligence, his composure, the body position he takes when he accepts the ball, his ability to see a pass are all years beyond his age. Going to be really interesting to see his development in the next 2 or 3 years.
  4. Jimenez went down like he’d been absolutely clattered, he was forced to go to the sideline as the ref wasn’t taking his play acting. He the literally ran back onto the pitch and ran full pelt and launched himself at Longstaff still in a hissy fit. It was pre meditated, high and very dangerous. I couldn’t believe that the ref didn’t show a red in the first place.

Has anyone mentioned that the Sir Bob surfer was the wrong way round?
  6. I haven’t said we’ve played well, we’ve played the match situations and missed the breaks.
  7. These stats that are being thrown around are never taken in the context of the match situation. Milan away - a bit of a settler, 1st game back, Milan didn’t really threaten. PSG - battered them Dortmund - struggled in the 1st 20 mins, Wilson missed a sitter, wood work hit twice. Dortmund - poor performance, Big Jo missed a sitter at 1-0. PSG - led, PSG didn’t really threaten, had loads of shots, mostly from 25 yards and not on target. Robbed. Milan - Dubs, 2 soft goals, hit the bar at 1-1. Milan hit the post twice late on as we push on. The big moments didn’t go our way, and our big moments were earlier in games than they were for the opposition. As an aside I thought the referee was harsh again on us last night. No individual decision led directly to anything but it can have an accumulative effect. The stats don’t tell the full story.
  8. Wow, we just didn’t the breaks at crucial times in 3 of the group games. Live and learn, fine margins and we came out the wrong side. Onward and upward
  9. No idea how Romero didn’t get sent off btw. The only intention was to stamp on the ankle, the ball was nowhere near. How’s that a yellow?
  10. We over achieved last year, with a far better team than we’ve been able to put out most of the season. Our schedule has been far harder. Complete free pass so far for me, it’s massively frustrating but, we learn from it.
  11. We’re not there physically or mentally. A 5% drop will do you and they don’t have the crowd to get them up. It’s fine margins and there can be no surprises with recent away results. It’s not the time to question the manager or the players on the pitch. Let’s get the injured players back and see where we get to. Away from home opposition sides know how to hurt us just now; our counter attacks are way off where they need to be and that’s just one of the issues.
  12. Nowt he could do with the 2nd and can’t say he did much wrong with the 3rd. Thought it was a pretty poor dive for the 1st. The opening goal was crucial.
  13. Match too far. We had chances but Tripps has had a mare. Dubs perhaps could have done better for the first. We’re running on empty when we have to chase a game.
  14. We haven’t played an Everton 3pm kick off since Ben Arfa in 2010. Most have been mid week with only coach or car options to get there. Many have been on TV, little wonder we’ve struggled to sell out the full 3k allocation we could ask for. Pretty sure under Ashley we didn’t even ask for the full allocation. 13 years of midweek games, with an awful view, between 2 bang average sides and the prospect of getting home at 1am at the earliest would take its toll on even the most ardent fan.
  15. The Brazil kit is a banger, proper old school homage. Make it sky blue shorts and we’re really talking.

They must have a replacement ready to step straight in. Mowbray was a really uninspired choice and this has ended as most predicted. However, he was still doing a decent to good job. He had a young squad, playing pretty good football with some blips. Understandable given the age of the squad and some of the quality. Who’d have thought Mowbray would be gone before we’d have hounded Eddie out? Their next manager will be expected to take them up based on where they are now and Mowbray’s sacking. Good luck with that.
  17. Pope looking far too happy for a bloke who has just dislocated his shoulder. Can’t even say he’s been on the gas and air. He’s still got his keeper’s shirt on.
  18. Bruno & Jo need to be on best behaviour. O’Nien will no doubt look to kick the crap out of them.
  19. Eddie is going to have to try and rotate/ rest players against Everton and Spurs. Milan is a huge game and be the main focus. I can see Ritchie/ Hall/ Dummett all starting at some point. It’s no exaggeration to say we’re only 2 injuries away from a potential further spiral of further injuries through fatigue. We can’t go on playing so well with such limited availability. There’s every chance we’ll see another Bournemouth performance in the next 2 games.
  20. If that’s the game I remember it was a mid week game and it was so late that we were just about to leave the pub to walk up to the ground. Back at time where if you in say The Bodega, you could leave the pub 15 mins before kick off, get into the ground, have a piss and still make kick off.
  21. Trevor Sinclair vibes about that.
  22. Mehrdad out of order there. Atmosphere wasn’t there today tbh but he has contributed to it. It’s a joke at the turnstiles and I had offers of 2 last minute tickets today that I couldn’t pass on to “proper” supporters. Mate has to put his up for resale so his seat wasn’t left empty and the lad who bought it spent half his time taking photos. Meanwhile, the lad on the other side of me was videoing Sterling’s goal.
