Gordon in particular should have done better from the punch. He does a little shove which is neither nowt nor something. That said, the players around are far too passive. They don’t see the danger.

There’s impact with Schar’s shin, he feels it and holds his shin where the impact was. Might have been soft but that’s never getting overturned. Lascelles was a yellow, it wasn’t a goal scoring opportunity. Little was said about the clear shirt pull from the neck of the shirt, impeding a header 6 yards out, which was dismissed as no more than “they don’t get given these days”.

I really don’t understand the grief Pope is getting he makes the correct decision not to go for the ball for the 1st goal. He doesn’t get there if he tries and he’s not stopping the header either way. The 2nd goal, he decides to punch (you could argue catch it, but conditions aren’t great), our defensive reaction to the punch is poor. We looked tired at that point and personally I’d have had either Hall or Tino on. Certainly once Neto went off we had a chance to hurt them down our left. Willock was fresh and they looked vulnerable there.

Spurs are ok, things have largely gone their way so far this season. Palace have nowt, no flair, an abysmal goal threat and get by accepting this and setting up to defend deep. For the yellow kit, the Alan Gowling/ Supermac blue shorts and white socks with top hoops are absolutely my favourite. That goal at Bolton in that kit is iconic. It was just like watching Brazil, Bruno/ Jo would love it. We’ve never gone back to it and I’ve no idea why not. It was an absolutely fantastic kit.

As has been said, KK virtually saved the club, not once, but twice. Those of us who remember the 1st time may well say the 1st was more important than the 2nd. Without the 1st, KK would not have returned as manager, there was no Premier League/ SKY around the corner. The club was was in a coma, nobody believed we’d ever be anything other than a has been. I still can’t believe he joined as a player. Stand or Statue, KK deserves something. His impact has been immense.
