We really should be thinking of Gordon as a new signing. Talk of a need for a RW needs to stop. Barnes will be LW, Gordon competing for RW or through the middle from the bench if a game needs this.

Haiti deserved a draw against England. They were far better in transition. I can’t see us doing much from that viewing though Haiti could be a bit of a surprise package. The debate about pay should be pretty simple. You get paid in line with what you generate, a bit like a business eh. I do think that more money should be put into girls grassroots football. I’d also support top ups from the men’s game to ensure that women players can become FT pros which hopefully boosts their game. I just can’t get away with players demanding equal pay.

Think it’s clear that’s the case. Though I’d quite like to move Targett and replace with better and less wage. We’ve outgrown him far quicker than imagined and we really stretched what we offered him.

Assuming - big assumption- that we get Tino in, how many more incomings and what type do we actually need this window? We have to consider team spirit and familiarity of our play/ time for new players to settle. I’d be happy with an addition/ competition at CB and a striker - one for the future type. Together with FFP restraints we’d be able to manage that? Also have to imagine we manage to move one or two more players out.

As far as keepers go when we were really rubbish Steve Hardwick and Kevin Carr looked like Sunday morning pub keepers. All set to go to the club and play bingo, watch strippers and drink LCL for the rest of the day. And, then there’s Mike Hooper.

If he comes then he’s clearly been bought for what he’s good at; he’s very much a player that makes runs as opposed to taking on his man and he can take a chance. ASM is almost polar opposite as a winger. Get him on the training ground and drill match situations/ positioning and assuming his attitude is right then he could prove a great signing. I’m not entirely convinced about him but, I can certainly see what he could bring. ASM by and large slows our play down, Barnes could speed transition up, he likes to get in behind and he does score goals.

There’s a great stat that Kane had a 100% pass accuracy in the 1st half at SJP; 33% were from kick offs.

I’d be pushing for 50M, he’s 26 years old, contracted and is a bit of a one off. Don’t think anyone could argue at 50M as being unreasonable/ dodgy. Surely a player is worth what a buying side is willing to pay? Look what we paid for Wood.

We’re definitely playing the we aren’t an open cheque book and FFP is clearly an issue. We need to get revenue in and “be creative”. The spending of other clubs is a worry, they’re strengthening at a rate we can’t keep pace with. We perhaps need to draw a little breath, reflect on how far we’ve come in so little time and accept we might need to go back a little and still keep ahead of schedule. We’re years behind in having the full set up required to trade players without real constraint. We might even benefit from that in terms of team spirit and continuity. We’ve been far better than the sum of our parts since Eddie came in. I’ve no doubt we’ll do all we can to get the right players in for the right positions.

What length of contracts we handing out? We’re obviously looking to get immediate promotion and just wondering if the new players would be able to push for a further promotion? We’re going to need a couple of new teams to get us through the divisions?
