  1. See Kuol celebrating that goal almost as soon as Humphrey’s hit it.
  2. That looks a cracking shout mind. VAR check every goal as well.

    Dan Burn

Bloody hell, he wasn’t the reason we didn’t win today and I don’t think Targett would have made any difference. We all know what Burn brings and he’s been a huge part of the defensive unit. I’ve been hugely impressed with Robinson from Fulham; it depends what you want from your defenders and the understanding they have as a unit. We’d have probably won today if Bruno had played, we lost control in midfield.
  4. His biggest problem as we get better is that you don’t quite know what he’s going to do next and it doesn’t fit into our patterns of play. He’s prone to losing the ball and when he does it often leaves us out of shape. Gordon looked a far better fit. I really feel that Maxi’s place will be from the bench and, realistically a move.
  5. We really missed an option for CF from the bench today. Wilson struggles to last 90 mins the way we play, he missed the 1 on 1 in the 2nd half due to fatigue. He should have scored with the header but these things happen. Gotta think if Isak had been available he’d have took that chance, small margins but every 10th of a second counts. We could have easily lost today, take the point, move on. West Ham are hugely underperforming this season.
  6. We looked leggy and our central midfield 2 weren’t as good as Rice n Paqueta. Once Paqueta gets up to full speed he’ll be a handful, bigger than I expected and very calm on the ball. Rather him than Rice and no contest given likely price.
  7. Fulham again showing what a good team they are just now.
  8. Chelsea just again showing they need a centre forward.
  9. Think Robinson would be a good option at LB, he’s rapid, decent size but perhaps lacks a bit of defensive awareness. Paulhina would be a great addition.
  10. Anyone know if people in different pots but in the same friends group will be seated together if they buy tickets in the same price category but on different days?
  11. Let’s hope the gamble not to replace Wood or Shelvey hasn’t backfired before the window even shut. Gordon/ ASM will now start, if Isak is prevented from playing at the weekend then we need to be 2 up by the time Wilson loses his legs around 70 mins. I understand why we didn’t replace but we haven’t half tempted fate.
  12. We’re not bringing anyone in unless it’s a loan for someone happy to sit on the bench unless needed. We’re gambling on fitness and form hoping it’s enough to get us into Europe. It makes sense in that we’re not back filling Shelvey and Wood with little upgrades and taking up squad places for summer targets. Gotta hope it pays off.
  13. I’d like us to have a 3rd striker, a goal scorer, by all means a young lad with potential. Playing centre forward and scoring goals while doing it is a specialised and very hard thing to do. We can’t be saying that Gordon/ ASM or anyone else in the squad other than Wilson or Isak can do it. Wilson will get injured; he’s looking like he needs a rest already. You might get away with it for a couple of games (unless you really are a Man City) but look at Chelsea, they’ve got a fantastic squad and Havertz playing up top. Bonkers.
  14. If we end up in game where Gordon is our centre forward then we’ve failed in recruitment.
  15. Well, I really hope that’s not what Eddie thinks.
  16. The sudden need for a CM shouldn’t hide the fact that we haven’t replaced Wood. We’re inviting trouble in key areas.

    Sander Berge

Maybe loan with obligation to buy would help us with ffp?
  18. We’re an injury/ loss of form or suspension away from having a very limited central midfield. Shelvey had got himself in top nick pre season and could have filled in. It’s an opportunity for us to upgrade and I can see us really going for this.
  19. If we allow Shelvey to go we must get a replacement in. We’re not exactly blessed with any depth in central midfield.
  20. Right, clean slate. He’s ours now; 100% support; I honestly believe that with a hard work and a lot of support he could be a real asset to the way we play. He’s a young lad, supports a team in absolute turmoil where he and his family have suffered disgusting shit. He clearly cares about his football, unleash his potential. I reckon he’s got a point to prove.
  21. Looking forward to see how we use him. He’s very quick, direct, taller than you’d expect and a bit of a shithouse. Longstaff/ Willock? I’d imagine we’ll introduce him gradually.
  22. I’m taking him agreeing to hand in a transfer request as a positive. I reckon he’ll come here feeling he has something to prove. He’s got some serious shithousing in him, we’re going to be hated.
  23. For a home grown 21 year old with a high ceiling I don’t think we can grumble too much at the price. We just got our money back on Woods (ffp wise) so that helps. Guessing it’ll be something like a 5 year contract for Gordon which will also help. We’d have walked away if we weren’t happy with the deal. He has all the attributes to fit right into the way we play. He does need to a bit more professional and I’m sure we’ll work on that.
  24. I’d imagine his team mates love having him in the side. The ground he covers and his stamina would be very hard to replace. He is limited and his shooting has massively gone backwards but he really does suit the way we are set up.
