  1. The press are being very very gentle on him for whatever reason. Because at the minute Sunderland dont sell newspapers and they just dont appear on the radar of the commen football football fan
  2. I am not mate. Firstly its a money thing Secondly, I have been to see them at St Andrews a couple of times since I moved down here. Both resulted in getting kocked out of the league cup and it hurt like hell to see their fans celebrating and then having to meet up with bluenose mates that were there as well. I thought about it and decided that if it happened again, that I just couldnt cope with the disappointment. The stakes are just so high tomorrow. Weak as fuck I know but I just couldnt stand it - it will be hard enough going to work on Tuesday to face it
  3. I think its a fair knocking bet that he will be using a lot of Fergie's psychologiocal tactics but as ever, only ever see's the ones that go against him.
  4. What we have to focus on is the results of NUFC. No one else. IF we win and draw a few of the remaining games, we will be ok. It doesnt matter what Fulham do so long as we look after ourselves. If we dont then we will go down anyway as the 3rd bottom and deservedly so. I think its a natural reaction when we see a bottom team win a match but we surely cant expect them to go on and win the rest of their games. There is a reason they are 2nd bottom. They just got lucky and caught Everton on a very poor day. If we win tomorrow, the fans of all the other clubs will say the same about us.
  5. After the next 6 days, there are no more excuses. Its been easy to say "the fixtures have been very hard" up until now and I think that is a genuine defense. However, we cant use that after Birmingham/Fulham .
  6. Thats the things isnt it. For too long, a lot of people on here, and a lot of Villa and Birmingham fans around where I live have all been saying "you wont go down... there are too many shite teams down the bottom". Well here is the reality check... we are now the shitest of the shite (bar Derby). Hopefully the players havent also been thinking along the same lines. If they have, hopefully, recent results will have been hammered home to them and have shown them that they have to stop assuming someone else will be worse than us.
  7. I think loyalty is important as it helps keep continuity within the team and the club. Commitment should be part of every players natural make up but the reality is that they are just employee's of the club and a percentage of the country's population arent committed to their employers and just do their job grudgingly. What we hope is that the players look beyond the club and think of the fans but I dont think they do in a lot of cases. Best way to do it is to have a good manager who is positive and can bring out the best in each player and for the fans to show equal commitment to supporting the team and hopefully, the players then respond - especially when the chips are down like now

You're right. I'd much rather watch a toothgrinding, soul destroying 0-0 slugfest between Bolton and Boro than, say, Barca or Inter or Real Madrid, or Milan, etc. etc. Well, when watching 'La Liga' I don't care who wins and that for me is the difference. I am interested in all football - I just love the sport. How can you not be interested in watching the likes of Messi, Ronaldinho etc ?

As if he would do that He should, if he wants to play PL next year. Got a feeling he'll not be here next season no matter what. I hope so, but I can't see the club getting rid of him nor any club wanting him apart form Leeds. He'll end up a journeyman. Hull, Bradford, Huddersfieds etc IMHO Edit NEWCASTLE, Hull, Bradford, Huddersfield
  10. To be fair, I'd take a draw now if given the option. Took the thought right out of my head
  11. The man is a classless idiot. Hasnt an honest bone in his body and kind of confirms why he lost the players. A good manager has to work with his staff and not just order about. The man just assumes he is right at every turn.

I am amazed that a young professional footballer wouldnt go all out to make sure that statistic doesnt become a reality. With 9/10/11 games to go I would have expected him to be covering every single blade of grass and almost literally sweat blood. Looks like professional pride isnt part of Alan's make up. How very sad in terms of the modern game
  13. Frighteningly realistic. It was the part about Keegan giving the interview and making the comment about the fans that made me jolt and realise that it actually hadnt happened yet - it seems so clear. You managed to hypnotise me into thinking I was reading an actual review of the season
  14. Villa away after that, Spurs and Chelsea away to come later on. Villa on the slide
  15. On the programme change over at lunch time today on Talksport, Ian Danter had only been talking for about 10 seconds before getting his dig in about Newcastle sending 1,000 tickets back. Lets hope we can fuck them over so we can ring in and say we didnt want to go because we knew it would be a piss easy win. ... now where is that dreaming emoticon
  16. I agree. Very bad result for them. I did wonder whether the decision to change their team on Thursday would be a bad one. Could be very bad for their morale. I just wish I could see us picking up some points from somewhere - currently I just dont. Seeing Fulham beat Everton today makes me VERY nervous for next week. Jamie Redknapp wound me up when he said it but he was right. All the other teams are picking up points here and there. We are the team that needs to be the most worried
  17. I suspect that all of the other teams down at the bottom are taking heart from that fact that, in their eyes, we are already down. Is it irony that our lack of confidence is giving confidence to the teams around us ?...
  18. Dont man. Its facts that that that send a shiver down my spine. You can see the resulots and headlines already cant you

Full time. Wigan 1 - 0 Bolton. Cheers. Great decision by Megson to drop all those players for the UEFA Cup. Fool
  21. Andy Dunn alert Andy Dunn alert Andy Dunn alert Andy Dunn alert Andy Dunn alert Andy Dunn alert I thought that saying KK was "hopelessly" out of his depth was a scandalous comment. You cant say that 1 manager should have been given more time, then call another manager hopelessly out of his depth after 8/9 games against some of the best teams in the league whilst having to use the players handed to him by the previous manager.
