I remember laughing at the prospect (during the 1974 Local Government Reorganisation) of the newly proposed merger of the towns of Washington and Sunderland being more likely to be called Washington, than Sunderland. Washington was actually the 'older' more historic place name, that had just recently had the new-town added onto it. As I am sure you are aware of from the Takeover Thread, I was aware that PIF never withdrew their bid to anyone in the Consortium, they only "said" it for public consumption. Throughout the 18 months I repeatedly said that the success of the Takeover was completely inevitable, because of the calibre of our buyers, Reubens, PIF and PCP. They have bought us as a consortium, not as three individual groups. That is one of the differences between you and I - I said what was inevitable before it happened, not after the event !!! The "calibre" of the consortium and its constituent members has not changed, so do not get concerned about it - this is only the beginning of a VERY long journey.

I would have thought that - by now - you would have learnt the value of W A I T I N G !!! Because that is what you, and I, and all of us, will have to do.

The reason I had absolute certainty over the last year and a half that our Takeover would definitely succeed, was purely and simply because of the calibre of those who were buying us. The leaks (if they ARE leaks, which is very doubtful) are unlikely to have come from the club. I do not think that is our new owners style, at all. We will get used to our new owners, and the way they are, eventually!

I think our brilliant new owners intend to get their decision on our D o F and Head Coach 100% correct. That they will do, and they will take (whatever is) the appropriate length of time in order to achieve that. Just W A I T !!!

I can understand that some of us are finding it difficult to understand, but things have completely changed for our club, they have changed by 100%. The way I do it is every time that I think (like I have been trained to do over the lst 14 years) that we cannot do something, then I say to myself ONE word. That word is O P P O S I T E. For example, every time I think that something cannot happen that I want to happen to NUFC . . . I just think "opposite". If you do that then you are pretty close to understanding what will actually happen every single time from now on. This is a new planet, in a new universe, and it HAS happened (to us . . . )

Ideally, D o F first, so they can aid the choice of Manager/Head Coach.
