Can we change the title?
-
Developed? Yeah . . I know, but it just seems a bit deeper (and smellier) lately.
-
Why has this thread developed into a pile of sh*t? It always was a pile of s*** to one degree or another. I think we all NEED (and I mean N E E D) there to be truth in this - TODAY. We're crackin' up!

If you are right mate (and I still think you could be) then there should be four statues outside SJP - Milburn, Shearer (as planned) SBR (as suggested) and . . . YOU!!!! If you are wrong, well they have to dig the foundations for the statues anyway . . . (Joking!!!)

That's a good point. Foolishly, I was one of those who was only too happy to see all of 'the benefits' (ie, enforced openness etc) of being on the Stock Exchange, taken away by Ashley . . . my mind was just full of dreams of a BILLIONAIRE owning us and spending all his money on us! I think I just suspended all common sense . . . it was a bit like falling in love . . . you become irrational. God, what a thought . . . "falling in love with Ashley" (Aaaaaagh!!!!).
-
It's not a leak, as it hasn't been reported by the Media.
-
MORE than just an internet forum, surely. Anyway - just a thought!!! No, just an internet forum ok, but "more than one" internet forum, plus 'Newsnow', etc . . . but I take your point! (could be wishful - desperate - thinking, on my part!)

It is only an internet rumour though, there is nothing out in the media so nothing to deny. Yes, but it is ALL OVER the Internet though. Just thought there might be something in the 'non-denial' theory!
-
OK, let's move on from 'Press Conferences'! A thought has just occurred to me, that 'may' point towards the current speculation about the DIC and Tuesday being possibly correct. It is noticeable that, ever since all this talk started . . . NO ONE has issued any kind of denial. Could that mean there is some real truth in it - what do you think?

I've discovered "smilies" (it seems)

Could be . . a difficult one . . . er . . . "because we aren't really a Championship Club" . . . ? ? ? nah. i've seen this seasons fixtures and we are. ok then

Know how you feel!! BUT, I have a feeling that this time it is different . . .

Obi on toontalk is a reliable source.

Sir Bobby loved our great club, he loved it with the same passion that us on here do. He will be watching us and the club and everyone else, from now on. I hope he likes what he sees. I think that the world is a FAR poorer place for him not being here. It already feels a bit 'emptier' than it used to. I'll miss you Sir Bobby.

The 'Newcastle Evening Chronicle' is (as we know) the Regional local evening paper for North East England. Ashley doen't live in North East England. The only local evening paper he will see (or care about) is the 'London Evening Standard' Still, 'word' (might) get back to him, I suppose. I also suppose he will LAUGH and ignore it (as always). He will do EXCACTLY what HE wants. He IS doing exactly what he wants. Anything the Chronicle puts on its website is immediately reproduced by other media organisations around the world. Look at Newsnow. Most of the storiesreported in the national newspapers are lifted from the Chronicle and re-written with a slightly different spin. Yes, it would be nice to think that the Chronicle can influence the 'remote' (in many senses) owner of our club. I just don't think he cares what anyone says or writes. He just goes his 'own sweet way'.

What are we, the 20th largest city in Britain? Hardly one of the largest The City boundaries are drawn in a very strange way, meaning that we fall some way down the "largest cities" league. In 1974 (when the boundaries were artificially drawn) large parts of 'what is really' Newcastle were 'left out' of the City, in order to bolster the populations of (and create viable Metropolitan boroughs for) Gateshead and North Tyneside, and leave a reasonable urban population within South East Northumberland. . . . If all of Greater Newcastle (places that are in existence because they have grown and developed because they are part of the 'Greater Newcastle conurbation') were actually officially included within our City Boundary - we would be seen as the big City that we actually are. So, we DO have a large population (it is just 'fragmented' between neighbouring Local Authorities) and so inevitably our well supported Big City football club will survive and return to the top flight. But, for a while Mr Ashley will wreak his vengeance on us, and we are in for a VERY difficult year or two (or three) ahead.

This seems to be a very likely outcome indeed. Revenge is sweet.

We all have our own fairly specific interpretation and assessment of him (Shepherd) and we rarely (if ever) let other peoples opinions on him, influence our own hard-set views! We have these certainties, even though most of us have not met him and do not know him well enough to be able to make any judgements at all. That will not stop us though . . . and I think I include me in that!
-
Couldnt give a f*** anymore tbh. Id take him in a flash now. I remember how relieved I was when Shepherd was forced out and we got our own "Billionaire" (at last) at the club, who was going to take us on onward and upward to the next level. 'It seemed like Heaven' . . . Now, I realise that Shepherd is 1,000,000,000,000,000 times BETTER than MA, who is undoubtedly the 'stupidest' man in football (and that's saying something!) Just to have someone owning us who CARES about our club (like we do) as Shepherd also certainly does, and who actually lives and works here in Newcastle, will be FANTASTIC in itself! If you are being sarcastic, I apologise. If not, all I can say is you're far too changeable in your opinions. GOOD GRIEF MAN - have you NEVER lived? I have described exactly how I (and tens of thousands of others) felt at that time. Shepherd (the 'poor' only a millionaire, and be-smircher of Geordie Women) was GONE and our 'white knight' a BILLIONAIRE (and a rare British one to boot) had bought us! Killed two birds with one stone. FANTASTIC times ahead! Now, along with the rest of those 'tens of thousands', I have learnt that I was wrong . . . SO VERY WRONG. Many of us on here, have learnt that! It is NOT about (what did you say) "us/me being too changeable in our opinions" (good heavens man!!!!) the FACTS have changed. No, I'm sorry, that statement by you is one of the silliest things I have read in years. The FACTS have changed, we have learned about Ashley, we are big enough (me and most people I know) to admit that we were wrong about Ashley, and many of us feel quite 'fondly' about the prospect of possibly welcoming the Newcastle-based (lover of our club) Freddie Shepherd back. What on earth is wrong about that???
