  1. Rang the changes and still got it right, now let's do the same at the Camp Nou and make some more records! I hope he's here for many more years yet
  2. I've already chalked this one off, if anything, not enough rotation for me
  3. It's worked out over 5 years and currently we only have 2 years worth of European football, in 2023/24 we gained 8 points, this year we are on 21.75 giving us 29.75 over the 5 year period, moving us from 83rd in 23/24 to 72nd currently, going to 64th at the start of next season when the 5 year period shifts. So some way to go yet, current Pot 3 teams include Spurs who are 22nd down to Ajax in 55th. Edit: Shows the importance of consistent European qualification, no matter the format as West Ham sit in 38th after their Conference League win gained 19 points in 23/24 and Spurs winning the Europa gave them 32.250 with Man Utd also gaining 32.500 just getting to the final and Villa currently on 22.750 for their Europa League run.
  4. Klinsman saying he wants it
  5. I've got a family meal at 5pm tomorrow so likely I'll miss most if not all of this, can't say I'm too distraught
  6. English teams in Europe this week have mostly been an embarrassment, best league in the world though? Palace also drew 0-0 at home to AEK Larnaca.
  7. It feels like its going to happen, but will we see the PL attempting to save their brand with some questionable refereeing decisions? They have their Big 6(TM) to preserve, unless the focus changes to a Big 5 or they pigeon hole Villa in there, they hate us too much. This has shades of us in 2015/16 too good to go down but misfiring all over the place, they've lost belief and they look like they've given up. Couldn't care less about Spurs but I feel for the supporters watching this car crash in slow motion week in, week out. Been there, done that and it's horrific.

    Yoane Wissa

We won't be selling Wissa any time soon, his age, price and likely return means it would cost us more in financial terms to jettison him now. I think Woltemade might make way in the summer, he's still young enough and hopefully has a quality World Cup where teams come begging, I love the guy, he's clearly massively talented, Im just not sure how he fits into NUFC or even the PL. Wissa will get his chance and he will come good.

    Lewis Hall

People need to forget, he's ours and I'd like him to stay that way!
  10. Please quote me, you'll get no umberance from me, it's a shame because I think we can win both but at the same time can't win both if you get me. And I'd rather be in a CL quarter final than the dizzying heights of 9th or 10th in the table.
  11. Echo the sentiment on here, we need to rotate as much as possible, start the likes of Willock, Woltemade and Wissa and restrict the bulk of our expected line up against Barca to cameos. The CL game has to take full priority, its on a knife edge and we can still go through.

    Yoane Wissa

Fwiw I don't think he's disinterested, he's come back from his first ever real injury and it was a pretty bad one, which has probably knocked his confidence but I also think he shoulders some of the blame himself because he's come back unfit, he's clearly put on a bit of timber which makes me feel like he didn't train as hard as he should have in his rehabilitation. I don't think we see a fully fit Wissa this season, but with a proper preseason under his belt under Howe I think we will see a different animal next season.
  13. I hope we do rotate as heavily as possible, we need all the fresh legs we can get for the Camp Nou if we have any hope of progressing, I have a feeling it will be a long night either way. There's nothing to suggest from last night that we can't do it, provided we don't run ourselves into the ground.
  14. Positive, both teams need to win the return tie so it won't be boring at least, still think we've got enough to go through. Some great football by us tonight, passing was quick and decision making was actually decent for most of the match, we just failed at the final hurdle.
  15. We played so, so well tonight, to a man, totally undeserved goal for them but you play to the whistle and we should have just kept the ball at the end, stupid to chase a second. We play like that again, we have a chance. Got to throw the game at Chelsea at the weekend though, can't be going full pelt again.
