From a logical point of view I think those in the know already know where the Sesko deal is at like I mentioned and didn't even open discussions with Liverpool, no counter offer, just a straight, flat out NO and to go into a new season with 2 raw talents and unproven ability at this level would be suicide, if we go back in for Wissa or someone of similar ilk I might change my stance, but I don't think Isak is allowed to leave just off the back of Sesko.
-
We knew the probable outcome of Sesko that's why we bid for him and we still emphatically said no, he's not going to the bin dippers
-
Isak is going nowhere unless Liverpool stump up the cash and they can't afford it man
-
Brucey's Blackpool FC 2-1 down to Stevenage, football is back baby!
-
I think this is all but done, reports were no bidding would take place until a decision was made and we made our bid, ergo surely that means we've got the green light from Sesko's team, plus he's been left out the team today and said goodbye to his teammates yet Man Utd haven't put a bid in for him, it all screams he's coming to us.
-
It's definitely not a case of if we get Sesko then Isak is off, it has to be the right deal too, we're not going to cut our losses on him, that much I think is clear. I would imagine when the bid came in from Liverpool then those in charge were already well aware of our position on Sesko and still flat out said no, so him potentially arriving makes no odds iyam.

Stephan Guivac'h and he didn't even play that well, the French team won but he wasn't in any way responsible iirc
-
Off the back of the last 2 weeks of doom and gloom it's a massive shot in the arm too, everything crossed for this one as I think it serves as a turning point in what has been a tumultuous summer.

Can't believe his 24 year contract is finally up, goodbye sweet Prince
-
I think the contract fiasco, mixed with the Liverpool discourse and our lurching from one failed transfer attempt to the next made him think he was on a hiding to nowhere staying here. But the last 48hrs has really changed the landscape and if we can get Sesko in and a couple of others and offer Isak improved terms then this summer will go from a 2/10 to a solid 9/10 very quickly and I think Isak will be happy with that for this season at least and I think we should keep him.
-
I have 3 Liverpool supporting mates and 2 that support Man Utd, most of our transfer business I've heard from them first as we slipped and tumbled in our attempts to sign the likes of Pedro, Mbeumo, Ekitike, Trafford, etc.. not to mention every Isak update possible. All of a sudden my WhatsApp has gone silent and my updates in the last 24hrs have fallen largely on deaf ears, can anyone explain to me why?

I'm ready to be hurt again, lets goooo!

Everyone walking about getting rid of Isak to free up funds, we can have it all this season, keep Isak, sign Sesko and Wissa, sign a CB and CM and keep Isak. We sell him at the end of the season and balance the books then, we are in a strong position and don't need to offload him yet, as @Heronsaid, we can let him go when the season ends, abroad somewhere and still benefit from the PSR bump then, we don't need to sell up now for that. Go all in and have a real go at this season and see where we land come June 2026 when we'll have a lot more interest in Isak.
-
Certainly feels like we've weathered the storm here, it was patently obvious that the scousers didn't have the brass to make this happen so they've tried every dirty trick in the book to devalue the deal and get him on the cheap, but we're not Ashley's NUFC anymore, we're not Southampton and you don't sell the family jewels for pennies when you want to be the best. I hope Isak sees how much we and Liverpool value him and makes the right choice and knuckles down.
-
This is where I'm at, I think Sesko comes in as Isaks long term replacement and spends a season coming off the bench and learning from Howe and we revisit the Wissa type player next summer when we sell Isak to a team on the continent for £120m
-
Sesko would probably be Isaks long term replacement but can see us going g with both this season while Sesko settles in. Feels like we fell in a bucket of thumbs in the last 24hrs and came out sucking a tit.
-
I think this played out beautifully, Liverpool came waltzing in, presuming they'd done enough damage in the press to make Isaks stay here untenable and got the door heavily slammed in their face. Whack a heavy contract on the table (we can take the PSR hit for one season) with a buyout clause, as mentioned, to any non-PL team and tell him to play his way into one of Barcalona, Real Madrid or PSGs thinking, tell Liverpool to never darken our doorstep again and give Isak a heavy, heavy incentive to score against Liverpool, per goal bonus and bigger cash dollop if we also win.
-
This is Liverpools last power play, unsettle Isak further, put the club into scramble mode and get the supporters rounded up with pitch forks, they want to force the move by hook or by crook, we hold and we knock back every effort to dislodge him, he's our player, contracted to us and we have no replacement.
-
There's no conversation to be had here, we need 2 strikers in before we can even consider listening to offers, I don't care about Isaks feelings, he is contracted to us, he only stands to devalue himself and lose out on a WC place if he kicks off and downs tools. At the end of the day the club comes first and we don't have the personnel in situ to lose him, simple
