The stand out information in this scenario is Liverpool officially stated that they wouldn't make a bid unless we gave them the green light, this sounds like another tactic to unsettle everyone further by making it look like we've told them to come in for him. However, there's absolutely no way we've sanctioned that when we've not even replaced Wilson yet. Yet more lies from the bin dipping scum.

It's easy to get lost in all these conspiracies with emotions so high due to the nature of what and how it is being reported in the press. But there's not much that we know for certain, the club admitted that Isak wanted to explore his options, Liverpool have had a conversation about the availability of Isak and Isak has said he's carrying a minor injury. We are currently at a point where Isak is training alone in Sociadad with his own team of physios, which in retrospect makes sense, keeps him away from the red band media frenzy and the whole team is away in the far East anyway, plus the warmer climbs would help with any injury Isak may or may not be carrying. Now I know there's no smoke without fire and there has to be some element of truth with what has been said in the press, however Isak is still an NUFC player, Liverpool have not tabled any bid and Isak hasn't handed in a transfer request or said he won't play for us again. Now the kairos will be next week when the team return for training at Benton, that's when we should have and will need clarity on the issue so we can properly prepare for the season ahead and move forward with our targets. I've found myself getting lifted and dropped in the sea of emotion following every step in the media but until the people closest to the issue (the club and Isak himself) speak out its hard to split the chaff from the wheat so its all just noise.

Wissa seems annoyed that he believes he had an agreement to leave and its being blocked now, for me that's good enough reason to hoy your toys out the pram.

If we were that interested in Scalvini then we would have made a move already, surely. We'll have something else up our sleeves. Having said that, the cartel 6"s activities this summer has been an absolute joke, just the £1.5b-ish spent between them without any repercussions, bloated squads and limitless spending, while we're forced to dig around in the bins behind their houses because the PL took our bank card and won't let us use the countless millions in our accounts. Brilliant.

Yeah I think it's best for the teams preparation that he's not there with them as it would be an absolute media circus and disrupting the club as a whole. Still not happy with the way he's chosen to deal with this, he could have expressed his intentions privately but continued to act professionally. I'm really ambivalent about this, because he's probably one of, if not the best player in the world in his position and a generational talent, we grew up with Shearer and he could have been this generations Shearer and so letting him go feels like losing a level of talent we may not see again for a generation, he can never truly be replaced and will be a huge miss. Having said that, no one person is ever bigger than the club and what it means to its fans and wider community and we shouldn't be held to ransom by him. I would like to hope that there is a way back, that he could play for us next season and possibly beyond, he has the potential to be the catalyst for big things and losing him will set us back, there's no doubting that. But if we are to be resigned to losing him it absolutely cannot be to another team in this league, the ramifications of that to the wider footballing world and our image on the world stage is irreparable and allowing Liverpool to win this battle with their underhanded tactics sends a message that cannot be recalled. We absolutely have to keep him until next summer, no matter what and then open the floor to the big European teams to have at it and extract the full value of his worth, even if that means begrudgingly giving him the contract that he wants for one season, break the bank, we will recoup it in the long run and he's not going to go awol in a WC season.

Well this window has proven that the cartel have sewn up the rules in their favour, PSR has done its job to a T. Quite unbelievable when you consider it: In the last 3 years we've consistently finished at the right end of the table, we've got our 2nd CL campaign, won a domestic trophy and increased our revenue year-on-year whilst also keeping our powder dry on the transfer front. Even with all that information, somehow we have lost out to at least 5 or 6 transfer targets because we "can't afford" to match teams that finished 15th and 17th last season for wages or fees, plus it looks like we're about to lose our best player for the same reason. A concerted effort to change the rules, stifle our growth, demoralise us, weaken us and prevent us from causing any further upset and indeed damage to the cartel 6, consider ourselves told. We may get out of this window with some kind of improvement but ultimately it will be way less than it should have been considering the last 3 years, extremely frustrating and demoralising as a fan also.

Honestly, Manchester United brought out a branded tractor in 2018, we've not even sponsored our training kits yet, the gap is astronomical, we need someone with vision to maximise every single tiny little revenue stream.

Building a solid mid-table team this summer, halcyon days!

It's clearly a deferment of funds for when Pope's contract runs out and Ramsdale steps in his place, he's only our number 1 until we find our Trafford replacement, I don't know why everyone is hating this so much.

I see the knives are fully out in the press now, it's starting to look like a (tin foil hat time) full frontal attack on uppity little Newcastle United, 2 CL qualifications and a Cup win, we can't be having that, put them back in their place. If Howe has too much power and its intimated that he's ignoring professionals in positions of power to get what he wants, yet we've yet to miss with any of our player purchases then maybe, just maybe, he's on to something and we should let him cook? Don't forget we survived relegation and are in the hunt at the other end of the table, so he's maybe doing something right, huh?

As much as I find Hope to be defeatist and negative most of the time he's pretty much nailed it there, we are in a mess at the moment and there are easy PSR wins we are missing on, we've all said it. Hopefully some semblance of management will be in place very soon and the club can advance quickly off the pitch.

Knowing (No)Hope it'll be: Business complete for this window. Giving up and selling up. Imminent relegation.

He's got a 50p head so everything will have to go to feet for him
-
Yeah 100%, that's what excited me the most about him, feels like a proper blood and thunder 90s striker, his accuracy with his head is insane.

It feels like a like-for-like for Pope but with more years in him, maybe just an extension of what we have, giving us extra time to find a replacement for our Trafford type target.
