He's 22 and still developing, clearly we see something in him and if anyone is going to bring him on it's Howe.
-
I saw the Haaland in him for sure, he looks strong, holds the ball up well and has amazing heading technique, definitely still raw, like you say his first touch is off and his passing range needs a lot of work, but overall he looks a beast.

Never heard of this Samu Aghehowa until today but after a bit of Dennis Wise scouting I'm ready for one of the cartel to break my heart again!

A target for Manchester United according to Alex Crook

This is a real watershed moment in our history. This coupled with Howe's comments about it not being completely in his hands adds fuel to the fire, if we allow Liverpool to bend us over on this deal then we've shown ourselves to be weak, it is a vivid expression to other players and clubs that we aren't serious, this will cause irreparable damage to our "project". I'm withholding judgement until all becomes clear but the signs aren't great.

Insanity, Isak is bound to a 3 year contract, of course we're in a strong position, we don't have to do anything, he is our player and his contractually bound to be our player for the next 3 years, only way that changes is if we allow it. We are in a very strong position, I've said it several times we value Isak at £150m but we have categorically stated and have been unmoved from "NOT FOR SALE" ergo it will take North of that to make us turn our heads and probably closer to £200m this summer. This deal doesn't get done, no way Liverpool will be able to pay what we want from them, he'll go next summer.

To quote @Mike I like it, I feel less crazy if I'm with a mob

Why do people keep insisting that we "fold" or "crumble" or whatever and give Liverpool what they want? we hold all the cards here, we value Isak at £150m and we've stated multiple times "NOT....FOR......SALE!" so in my estimations it takes North of our valuation of him to make us reconsider our stance. The bin dippers really thought they were on to something by rocking the boat

We need to slam our nuts on the table ASAP as we know they're strapped for cash, as soon as they sell Antony they'll want to match us.
-
If the Ben Jacobs piece is true then we're done here, we won't budge on our stance, he's not for sale, Liverpool would have had to table a bid we couldn't turn down but I think it's been clear since this started that they can't. This has all been to destabilise our position and get a world class player on the cheap, I hope we not only tell them where to go but put in an extensive complaint to the FA for their conduct.

With our 2nd CL campaign in 3 years and a domestic trophy win I think its fair to say we've arrived but we have to sustain that in order for players and agents to take notice, for them we could still just be a flash in the pan.

We're right not to be held ransom on the price for Wissa but at the same time I feel for the Brentford supporters, especially with what's happening with Isak, but at least everything we have done in this scenario is above board and the only reason Wissa is unsettled is because we've actually made a bid for him. Having said that I'm still hoping this one gets done as I think he'll be an awesome upgrade on Wilson and is a great option from the bench.

This is where I think we miss Amanda a lot, someone at the helm who had a personal stake in the club, albeit a small one, who threw everything into making us the best version of ourselves. I know people say she likes to spend other people's money and yes she probably did make a few mistakes in the risks she took, it put us in a position of losing two highly thought of youth prospects and unable to spend for a lengthy time, but it also brought us 2 CL seasons and our first trophy in most of our lifetimes. When we lost her we lost someone with a vested interest. We need more Eddie's and Amanda's higher up, we've failed at that so far with Mitchell and Ashworth, we need to make the right appointment soon and I think everything else falls into place.
