Guess who's back, back again, Sandros back, tell a friend. Like a new signing ™
-
The subs changed the game for us, all positive contributions but still way off our best. We got away with one there but I'll take it.
-
Hoping Willock gets a run out, would be tempted to switch Murphy out for Almiron too.
-
I think Gordon is the biggest let down here, his running and guile is non-existent, whatever is going on there needs to get sorted ASAP, once he's in the mood it opens things up for other players. We're almost at full strength, this is worse than when we had half the team out.
-
He's not helping the itk rumours is he?
-
No one comes out of that half looking good tbf, need to wake up, we don't look like the team we can be, weak and feeble on and off the ball, passing is horrific, making the wrong choices, second to every ball. We'll never win anything if we can't start performing away from home. Hard to see us get anything from this if we keep just going through the motions. Anger inducing performance.
-
Gordon just spent the summer wasting away on Southgates bench and barely had a kick pre-season so he's probably a little confidence knocked and rusty. Give him a month and he'll be tearing it up again. Don't think there was a lack of effort from him fwiw, he put a shift in when we went down to 10 and his role changed, he was just off it today, but then who wasn't?
-
High praise indeed
-
Genuinely don't get the ire directed at Miggy, he's always done his best, never seen an engine like his getting up and down the line, chasing every cause, let's not forget that without his purple patch UCL doesn't happen and scoring our first UCL goal in 20 years against PSG was deserving. I'm not saying we should keep him, he's obviously a weak link in where we want to be, but he was a key member of where we came from, he deserves to be remembered fondly when he does leave.

Pre-season (2026/27): NUFC to play Everton at Murrayfield on 12/08/26
Mattoon replied to bowlingcrofty's topic in Football
Defence has been tight as a ducks arse tonight, not letting anything through. -
I'd take Madueke in a heartbeat, think Eddie could really make him something. Kulusevski I'm on the fence with but then I didn't want Gordon here and thought we should keep ASM so what do I know?? If we get Guehi and a RW in then I think we'll have a very competitive starting 11 this season and some half decent backups.
-
Odds are Guehi is a Palace player until he isn't and he'll be treated as one until he isn't, it's not that deep
-
I think there's a train of this running online at the moment, itchy trigger fingers, we've never been the most patient! The longer time goes on with no movement, the more empty space people have to fill and historically we're experts at doom and gloom. Leave it to the experts and trust they are doing the very best they can to make us the strongest team possible under the constraints they're dealing with. #Wait
-
Can't wait to see us in full flow again with Joe bullying the opposition, last season was painful and we missed so many players especially Joelinton, to see them all back fighting fit now and out to prove something is gonna be a sight to behold.
-
It wouldn't be a slow news day without a NO meltdown, he's going absolutely nowhere and he won't give it a second thought
-
I'm 100% behind the favourites tag and his post match honesty didn't fit into the seige mentality, that wouldn't have gone down well at all. His brief cameo was nothing but positive and should have earned him more minutes along side Palmer but Palmer didn't go against the grain in public.
-
Pickford - Deserves his spot Walker - Past it, no footballing brain, relies on his ever decreasing pace too much Stones - Great defender, poor tournament Guehi - Deserves his spot Trippier - Time to hang up the international boots. Shaw - As above, can't give 90 minutes, faded badly at the end. Rice - Never the man to control that engine room, great player but doesn't set the pace of the game and plays the ball to Stones far too often. Mainoo - Great potential, but must be in a double pivot, not mature enough to run that space alone. Foden - All fart Saka - Deserves his place. Kane - Retire already! Serial loser. Watkins - Deserves to start Tony - Deserves his place in the squad Palmer - Criminally underused Wharton - Deserves minutes, very tidy if unthrilling player. Gordon - Unbelievably underused Southgate - Thanks for the memories, top bloke, poor manager, has to rely on moments of brilliance and absolute screamers to win games.
-
Kane needs to retire from international football, we need to move on from him, watching him jog around for nearly an hour made my blood boil. Walker is finished at this level too, in fact none of the City lot particularly impressed. The better team won tonight and they deserved it but it still stings. We need a new manager and to start bleeding some new players in at international level.
-
You know what, I don't care, I'm absolutely sick of England winning the wooden spoon fair play award every tournament and nothing more, screw it! If you can't beat them l, join them.
-
It was a soft pen, but anywhere else on the pitch its a foul and we certainly played well enough in that first half to at least go in level.
-
No one said he is good enough to take us to the next level, in fact I'd probably say 100% of the supporters agree that his position is the most important to upgrade on. What you're missing is the fact that he has been a great servant to the club, he had a huge part in getting us to the Champions League and scored our first UCL goal in 20 years. If you don't look on that fondly, regardless of his ability in terms of where we want to go, then how can you call yourself a fan? There are many other players past and present that don't deserve the money they're on, this is not the hill to die on.
-
Firstly he's limited but not severely, he's not Colback. Secondly, people fell in love with his tenacity, his work rate, his attitude and positive demeanour, all of which are world class.
-
Slovenia pens were poor, Diogo Costa did well in delaying his dives and going the right way, but all their pens were too central and at a great height for the keeper, then you've got the Portugal pens all tucked in the corner or into the side netting. They didn't even make Costa work for it.
-
Ronaldo pen saved again to send him over the edge
-
They are good at spoiling a match, suffocating the ball and harassing for the turnover. Not pretty to watch but really tough to beat.
