I knew this was coming from the core, if you want to discuss this personally you can PM or leave it out. This has nothing to do with me being impatient - not at all - I've been patient ever since I became supporter. Which is some years now (See earlier posts) Instead, I'm rather disappointed and shock tbh, that it is possible to run a club the way it has been done... and it looks like it is gonna continue. Mocking me does no good. If any of you replying to my post have supported the club for some time, you'd understand that my frustration is a result of years of incidences - and not Sam getting the boot. I'd like to see Mort/Ashley's next move now, because it will show their true ambitions. All the talk about consistency and stability Better be good, f***ing awesome or we'll be in the same old run...

Hmm... what to say, what to say... I'm in a bit of a shock here... Well, ON THE BRIGHT SIDE: Finally, I get to see Mort/Ashley TRUE ambitions !! I've been excited ever since the club was bought --> "what's next?" If they go on to hire a british manager - I'm out The only thing that can keep me supporting this club ATM is if they bring in a TOP MANAGER... ANYTHING else will make Newcastle United F.C. lose 1 supporter. Pretty much sums everything up - I'm fed up with this 'Dramaqueen' stuff at this club - it's pathetic.

Well said imo. In terms of entertainment, which is what we would all hope for, Sam's unlikely to deliver - short or long term. I believe the majority of the current negativity has come about from that realisation. In the summer everyone was on a high, the majority at least. Gone was the old regime, new owners and a new manager - positive transformations were the order of all expectations. It's the football that has crashed everyone back to earth. There would be nowhere near the amount of negativity if we had just a few more points on board from watching good games. People sometimes refer to Sam's "previous success". What he actually did was an OK/decent job at a small Premiership team. However with the exception of Keegan and SBR the football we've played this season is about as good or bad as anything else we've served up in the top flight since the sixties. Joe Harvey and Cox had their moments - but mainly in the second tier. Sam's got the job right now so I'll support him. If a new Keegan or Sir Bobby exists and would come to us for the right reasons then I'd support them too. Thank you GypsyKing for reading my post:) Benwell Lad: Thanks for replying. Well... you said : People sometimes refer to Sam's "previous success". What he actually did was an OK/decent job at a small Premiership team. People doesn't only sometimes do this. People do it all the time. It's been done in another thread were people rated his successors based on their CVs and previous achievements. It's done on a daily basis in the business world too. If I were to appoint you, I would judge you based on what you have achieved in the past, right? You are probably right about the way we play, with exception of Keegan and Robson - however, I'm concerned about Sam's long-term plan and style of play.

Thank you for a somewhat long and constructive post. Always nice to see good old loyal fans around. I can't defend other people's views and opinions, but I can tell you mine. Being a foreigner, coming from Norway, I started to support Newcastle because Alan Shearer signed for you. Back in 1994 when he was playing for Blackburn, his side went to Norway during the summer to play against the Norwegian side Vaalerenga (Vålerenga). This was actually a big attraction of the famous Norway Cup, which is played every year at Ekebergsletta close to Oslo. I was lucky enough to personally shake his hand, and talk to him for a couple of minutes after the game. Later on that evening, at the age of 10 (still not knowing what EPL was), I were to decide which team to support in England. The final choice became Alan Shearer and Blackburn, with Man Utd on a good second place (Man Utd does not have a place anymore ) The rest, well.. it's history.. I've never been in Newcastle, never seen a live game, but I see almost every match the team is playing on TV ... the rest I pick up from internet forums and news....My best moment's got to be the Kelloggs commercial with Keegan and Newcasle , and the worst is sacking Sir Bobby Robson (so ashamed) :-[. After the takeover, I honestly expected us to do what other takeover-clubs do (like man city and my "Swedish neighbour" Sven Göran) buy and transform the club - totally. Some part of me actually expected us to do a Chelsea - which today would have suited me well. But that didn't happen. Instead we were going another way, buy clever and buy long-term, now... how can any of you say we have done that? Yes, we have 2-3 good signings this summer (faye, beye and enrique), but it's this 'other way' I don't understand. I don't think Man City has just splashed the cash playing Russian Rullette - Sven Göran has proven he can rebuild a club given just part of the summer (even coming in later than Allardyce). Futher, one can draw a comparsion between Sam Allardyce and Joey Barton with the headline : You get what you pay for. Most Newcastle fans want attacking (almost gung-ho) football with fast, technical players dribbling the oppositions butt off in true Asprilla style - Allardyce does not have such a working philosophy. You clearly see that from the players he have brought in (trying to stabilize - yes but not aiming to play attracting and attacking football). Moving over to Joey Barton believing he would stay out of trouble was nothing but hope, you think Vinny Jones would turn into a good boy if we brought him from Wimbledon? Nope, again, you gt what you pay for. I'm pretty undecided as to wether Sam is the man to turn things around. I have no doubt what so ever that he is a very very good manager, and that he can handle pressure. In fact he, as anyone else, can be successful. And I think he will turn things around at our club given time, but he will do it the way he is confident of doing it - and that's where my uncertainty about Sam really is. I don't want us to play boring football with long balls (In true Egil "Drillo" Olsen style) Hoofing the ball up to a tiny Oba Martins and an unfit Owen, who both clearly aren't shaped to reach the "Crouch height", and then hope for the best - or look at it another way : So Sam can later on comment on SSN - "We pumped the ball up, unfortunatley Martins and Owen weren't there to get it, but we defended well and just conceeded / didn't conceed". My point is - you get what you pay for and people do their job in accordance to their abilities, their experience - in short they way they are confident of doing it. Just the way you do our every-day-job, right ? You do it the way you know it worked yesterday. People here complain about the way we are playing, the way things have turned since the summer - it's a transformation - a transformation into the Allardyce style (see above - the way he knows he has succeeded in the past). And I think that the players we see that don't play well, is the players that will leave sooner or later. Not because they aren't playing well, but because they can't adapt to Sam's style. So will a different, and maybe more reputated manager, do any better? Well, for once, if *he get the financial backup needed, and in truth that's expected from Ashley. Maybe. We might build ourself a team of stars. Will we see a different style of play? Certainly. Are we guaranteed success? Not at all. But logically speaking - a more reputated manager will have greater experience handling different aspects and his successess in the past should give him a better chance of succeeding now. *he and him = referring to a new manager. In other words, I highly doubt Sam Allardyce is the man to turn Newcastle into the playing side most people would like to see. But he will succeed at the things he's good at. Thanks for reading. *puh*

f*** this team and f*** this manager >
-
you guys see, letting Sam continue is gonna kill both speed and creativity... sorry, but I can't accept that... it is not the style I support.
-
this newcastle team is patethic.. belongs in championship... howay the champions(hip)... going for the relegation zone in EPL this season.
-
The ref can go and h**g himself. >
-
Sir Alex is there too. Looking at one of our lot? Probably looking at ALL of our lot, seen as we play them next. Yeah we gonna get raped at Old Trafford. How bad?
-
I'd sell him, he is inconsistent and on a super high wage (among others).. we can and hopefully will bring in someone better. ...Menez, please??
-
I don't think we should sell Oba Martins. - Tottenham are selling Berbatov for no less than £35 mill. - Would Villa sell Agbonlahor or swop him for Martins? - Why don't SGE go for OWen instead? or Swop Elano for Martins? He might have had a bit of an inconsistent season for us, and this might be because of BSA tactics, but we know what he capable of. And he is the least inj prone striker we have atm, and is the only striker in our sqd who can *guarantee goals. * as if Owen, Viduka or Shola really guarantees anything or than injury. Don't sell him unless we get BIG BIG money, cause he has a great prospect. Also if we are to sell him, we shouldn't do so until the summer - not in january!
-
We have already brought in some random 'defenders' AND we have one offender... how's that !! mackems.gif

Btw... not trying to be rude or disrespectful here... but... there are a couple of shortlists on the FM forum, which are pretty much complete in terms of future wonderkids and high potensial players. I actually have them, and if I had BS' email address I would def mail the lists to him ------------------------------------------------------------------- the rude part ------------------------------------------------------------------ That way, he can bring in some good players... some of them are real cheap Sam, like super cheap...suits you well In fact you will manage everything with your squad now, once FA (the AI) understands that you are struggling real hard, they will adjust the difficulty, and you will win a couple of matches I also took the liberty to genie the entire Newcastle squad, and I'm afraid the current ability and the potensial ability is a bit low
-
Hehe... nice, an FM Thread here... well well, I can like this... Here we go: Sergey Ignashevich Pablo Banega (set to join juve ?) Jefferson Farfan Belluschi Gouffran Briand Adrien (available for £3 mill i read on here, man city is interested?) Lulinha Benitol Costil Gignac Billy Sharp? Klaas- Jan Huntelaar Pablo piatti Gabriel Torje (Should really check him out, seriously) Breno (already mentioned) Sosin (russian kid) Carvalho Jo Ochoa Ustari Gonzalo Pineda Omar Esparza Petri Pesanen Cesar Arzo Aruna Dindane Lauri Dalla Valle (wonder if he's any good irl?) jeremy menez matias fernandez toni kroos do you guys thinks any of these are good enough and available for us in real?
-
.... If only Robson were some years younger and not ill... I would hire him on the spot. Robson is the man!
-
Calm down brother, calm down ... Where's the posession play? the team work? We have 11 individuals out there looking like their playing hide and seek. So unorganized that I'm surprised they even know the names of each other.
-
can't remember seeing us play this bad for years now... boring football... in this club... even the fans are disloyal and unprofessional... Come January, and we will be in the red zone anyway... derserve to be relegated... painful, but true...
-
Firstly, he doesn't play 433, thats a myth. Secondly, there ARE many, many better managers than Fat Sam out there, and if we can't get one of them, we're in serious trouble. The outlined part is actually a fact, my friend. Only way to solve it, is for Ashley to go mad like abramovich and f***ing buy us a decent team... that is also a fact! Cause that's how football works today I'd hate us for breaking the long tradition of buying domestic players, using shitty locals and so on... but at some point.. I couldn't care less if man utd, l'pool, Chelski, Arsenal or whatever side called us a billionaire-composed team...
-
fair enough, it's you opinion... however, we have to stick with him atm anyway, not many quality managers are available and willing to take over.... Mourinho won't come, Van Gaal... nope... the ones most of you want to get is not available or willing to take the job..... easy as that... Sorry to disappoint you, but this club is looking more like dreamcastle - the real 'DREAMteam' If he changes the tactic from 433 back to 442, and stops playing players out of pos. we would perform better.

At least the manager and players are on good terms eh Well, you know Decky, my forum friend, Newcastle are utter s***. I for one, can't defend their so-called 'good' performance (i.e. Arsenal), that's the sort of performance I expect every match. The reason for my expectations are simply that with the players we have (squad) and the wages they get, one should really expect them, as professionals, to fight in every single match.... other teams do.... just look at Derby... who are rock-bottom...or portsmouth... I'd say we should give Allardyce atleast a season. You know, it's fair, and for us (the fans) he can really prove his ambitions and true ability. We should only get rid of him if that's the requirement to have Ashley spend some big money. Allardyce is NOT new to the league. Allardyce should NOT be unaware of what type of players do well in this league. Allardyce is NOT new to scouting players for this league. Allardyce is NOT new to coaching players in this league. Allardyce has spent £25m on players of HIS choice. Mainly s***. Allardyce is now turning on the players HE bought/selects/trains. Allardyce has shown himself to be tactically inflexible and stupid. Allardyce has repeatedly selected the WRONG players and formations. Allardyce gave the captaincy to a player who had NEVER played for us. And who has been s***. Allardyce has since given the cpataincy to a player HE bought, who is s***. Allardyce should NOT be our manager, should NOT be given any more money. Allardyce is NOT the man for us, and keeping him in his job is NOT consistency, other than showing us to be consistently stupid. Okey... but he also sold some players, he was appointed by Shepard not Mort & Ashley, and considering the fact that we were in "take over"-talks which took ages to complete (and he can't be blamed for that), his future at that time was rather uncertain. And it's hard for a professional, yes even an experienced and professional manager like Allardyce, to stay focused on his job, when he doesn't know wether he will have the job tomorrow or not... or wether he will have the support from the people around him. The truth is, we are so far behind the top four that I hardly can see us ever catching up.. but if we are to try, and I believe we should... we need to be patient...consistency doesn't grow 'over night' (not defending our recent performance, cause it's been utter shit)... but if the fans stands behind the team and tries to motivate and see the positive things, that would be faaaaaaar better than constantly criticizing....

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11678_3006596,00.html (good article) read this and take notice on my signature. Some posts on these pages are very true and very down to earth Expecting us to preform better than we do is b***s***. To be honest, at times I hate Allardyce (the games that we loose), but before I know it, luckily enough, I still believe he's the right man to turn things around.... given time
-
you know, recently I've actually come more and more in favour of us just sacking the whole team, and go out thhere in real Ambbrahmovich style and create a superside:)
-
Well, you know we are simply not better than that anyway. People go on talking about the so-called strong sqd. we have on the "sheet", as that should matter... it's on the field that matters:)
