  1. Rather have this poll after the Jan. window. Rigt now though I'm closer to a 7, but a few 3-pointers might change that drastically.

Dont say 7 ! It will draw out the screamer Chez.

    Better ?;)

  2. Still want him out, although I realise he might be forced to stay a bit longer because of the credit crunch. I certainly does not see the situation in total black or white (as in either this or that). The one thing I'd like to point out is the all famous "but-guys-I-really-cleared-a-lot-of-debt" stunt, which I believe to be a reasonable thing to do considering the fact that a lot of EPL teams struggle with huge debt. West Ham find themselves in a bit of a financial mess with the Tevez/Sheff Utd situation, and I'd expect any of the top 4 teams to have some kind of financial trouble if they suddenly weren't to qualify for Champ. League or even loose out on a Euro qual. So I'd imagine we would have been in a bit tougher situation today with all the debt hanging over us.

Regarding the transfer policy, the only thing that really has impressed me is Wise et al. work bringing in some very promising talents, in addition to Jonas and Colo. That kind of vision is something we've been lacking, and I got to say that bit is slightly improven. Apart from that, I feel Ashley has been a failure and a joke. When he first bought the club I didn't expect anything like Man City do now, but I got to  admit that I expected us to show far more finacial muscles than we have. And for that reason, I am going to remember Ashley as the the story about the "wallet boy".

---> The story about the little kid who only had £10, and went to the store to buy a wallet for his £10.

  3. It was on the first page...

Apparently he's a certified baller too, does that mean he's a potential Newcastle Eagles star of the future as well?

Sure he is, 4 goals per game - all score in the famous straight like a banana way

  4. Should have a look at Mohammed Abdellaoue AKA "moa" from Vålerenga. Great prospect! Has showed some great signs this season.

Ah yes, but does he know the words to "Ohhhh, Gutierrez, from Buenos Aires..." etc?

    whaaat ? :dontknow:

  5. With Martins' confidence as it is, we've got a chance of winning any game regardless of how bad we're playing. I know he's hardly as prolific or as effective as the great man, but he's like Shearer in that respect: whilst he's on the pitch, and he's playing well, you've got a chance of winning the game.

It wouldn't be unlike us to bomb, but i'm still confident.

i dont agree with the Shearer comparison because certainly in his years with us he relied heavily on the players around him performing well

I know what you mean about Martins though, I said it before and during the Villa game, he's the only player at this club capable of winning a game with scraps to feed on. If he's on form, we can get a result against anyone

Bullsh!t. Shearer pretty much did it all.

That's not true. Sure, we were a much, much better side with Shearer in the starting XI but towards the end of his career players like Bellamy/Robert had a huge effect on his effectiveness and ability to find the net.

Yea, well maybe in term of work rate, but he was in a quite good condition considering his age.  If you look around there's only a share few who can be considered to have the same value (eg. Giggs at Man Utd). But Shearer meant a trillion times more than just that to the team, and with him on the field we were pretty much guaranteed at least one goal. Shearer was imho synonymous to a consistent goal scorer. Not to forget we had 10 men on the field that did fuck all, and then you still had Shearer being there banging the goals for us.
