    Chopra

Chopra has proved that has quality at Championship level, but the jury is still out on whether he would hack it week in week out in the Premiership. We have no need for him in our side, plus £4million is silly money for him.
  2. I would find it amazing if Ashley was to axe Allerdyce after 1 season, unless he did terrible in charge. Can't see him being terrible, so confident Allerdyce will be the man for Ashley to take the club forward.
  3. I think we will do well next season and either get 5th, 6th or 7th spot. Hoping for 5th or 6th though. A fully fit Newcastle squad has very good players, but a shite defence. Allerdyce has said he will sort the defence and I believe he will. Viduka, Owen and Martin's goals will fire us in to the top 6 spot finish.
  4. No imo, having money doesn't mean we should blow it all in 5 seconds. Why should we spend any money mike ashley brings on massive transfer fee's and inflated wages simply because we ain't in Europe?. Viduka, Ben Haim, Rozenhal and Joey Barton will cost us £2 million (minus fee for Parker). That's great business if it all happens, and football is a business. We don't need to spend £50 million, we just need to get the right people in from whats cheap and effective in the market at present (Barton, Viduka and Ben Haim are bargains and quality players!). We should use the spending power to improve the team when the time is right, not build the team with super stars now at silly prices. West Ham are the prime example of idiots at the moment. They are charging in bidding here and there and offering players stupid money. If they fail to acheive Europe, they may even have to flog a few simply because the wage bill is massive. How can Lucas Neill justify a £76k a week wage packet? he can't... and I don't want us to be like them. We have good players, we just haven't had good management since Bobby Robson. Allerdyce is the man, sort out the defence and sign some experienced players to cover any weak spots and that will do for me. It's possible that we will make 6th or 5th spot next season if we get right people in over the summer, once we get European football, then its time to sell deadwood and buy big to push for 4th.
  5. Not to be funny mate, but I just can't see us getting Richards, Milito, Appiah, Tevez or Diego. I always sigh when I see posts suggesting players we just can't get (or its highly unlikely we will get). It's fantasy. Surely its better to think about who we CAN SIGN and who would improve team from that list?
  6. Yep, only top 3 get in CL. Bayern finished 4th. Already signalled their intent though by buying Ribery and Toni. Great buys too. They will fire them up the league easy.
  7. They had a shite one in the league last year, but they've been spending some money of late in a bid to get back to the top and in cl.
  8. Well... given that so far we have only signed Viduka and Barton, I would try to add from these... Ben Haim - Free Daniel Roznental - £3.5mil Leighton Baines - £5mil Nicky Shorey - £5mil David Bently - £5mil Ingimarsson - £3mil Sol Campbell - £4mil Wayne Bridge - £5mil Glen Johnsen - £4mil Sammi Hypia - £0.5mil Wes Brown - £4mil Gareth Barry - £5mil Claude Makele - Free James Harper - £3mil Geremi - £3mil Kevin Doyle - £3mil Kevin Davies - £3mil Paul Scholes - £4mil Ryan Giggs - £4mil From that list I would like us to get... Paul Scholes - £4mil (probs only has 2 seasons left at best, but was the key player in Man Utds title win last season - would improve us massively) Ryan Giggs - £4mil (another player with limited time left, but great on the ball and would again offer us something magic for 2 years) Geremi - £3mil (versatile with midfield or defence, and we need a right back. Good player at a good price). Ben Haim - Free (Free and good player, worked with Sam before and delivered.) Gareth Barry - £5mil (Surprised he's not involved with England more, great player. Good attacking full back although he has played a lot on left midfield, I'd stick him back at left back for us) Sol Campbell - £4mil (Strong and expericened. Would love to see Sol with us, stupid that we didn't get him on a free end of last season). Sami Hypia - £0.5 mil (Strong and experienced and good price, worth having) Claude Makele - Free (Strong and experienced, free so defo worth having) Leighton Baines - £5mil (Young and full of potential. Strong and we need a proper first team left back) Kevin Davies - £4mil (Ameobi isn't a target man. When Viduka is injured we need someone who can come in and get the job done well flicking on for Martins/Owen, Davies is that man!) That would sort us right out and it would cost us around...£29.5 mil. Worth it imo.
  9. absolutely agree with you... KK was at fault for that.
  10. yup agreed in total hope Sam is the Man When KK left he did leave good foundations, problem was that Dalglish was a complete prick and sold our best players. David Batty Les Ferdinand David Ginola Keith Gillespie (at the time he was doing us good!) Faustino Asprilla Why oh why did we let these players go? thats total bollocks he scrapped reserve team football he went for the title one season and couldn't cope when he didnt win it he signed AS and left after 5-6 months what faith in the most expensive player in the world i think keegan did wonders but outlasted his stay sorry foundations bad word, appreciate he did decimate reserves and there was no youth setup, what I mean is first team wise, we had a decent midfield and attack, given that we rode a bad defence to 2nd in the league two seasons in a row. Selling some of the key midfield and foward players and replacing them with rubbish was Dalglish's fault, if he had kept these players and conentrated on the defence I think we would have done better than 13th the following season.
  11. The funny thing is that we are not in the position yet to spend silly money. Mike Ashley has not got full control plus who will sign for us given that we have no European football to offer? So far we have very good players who are capable of doing well if coached and managed correctly. Big Sam is the man to deliver that I feel. Given, Solano, Butt, Emre, Taylor, Butt, Milner, N'Zogbia, Dyer, Owen, Martins, Barton, Viduka, Duff.. all very good players. Problem is that only 1 is a defender... so if we can get Ben Haim on a free, Rozenhal on £3.5 million... that means we have only spent £2million taking off the £7million for Parker and immediately our defence is better. We still have a lot more to spend and as far as I'm concerend all I want to see is us signing good defenders. I think we have enough options in attack and midfield, so lets get the back four right so we aren't leaking more goals. I don't expect £50 million to be blown this summer, we don't need to spend that much yet. Let's get the defence sorted, then once we got in to Europe again and looking solid spend big.

  13. lol... wonder what his police statement will read like regarding the Dabo incident!
  14. Completely agree. Just because a few people on here either think we should or expect we will spend loads of money it doesn't mean we will spend it. If we do, it all depends on whether we spend it well. We've had our hands burnt a few times over the years so I can't see us spending silly unless its justified.
  15. Yes your right, we must wait til its properly confirmed. Everyone, stop posting.
  16. http://www.onlinecooking.net/news/NewsImages/chicken.JPG Booock!
  17. He did much better than I expected, but if Owen & Ameobi was fit all season he wouldn't have got a game. With Viduka joining us he surely isn't needed?
  18. 5 year deal agreed with player, £5.5 million agreed with club, medical passed... Think its safe to say Joey's one of ours now.
  19. Will you be giving Joey them then? If it gets him playing, I'll be willing to take a hit for the team.
  20. Will you be giving Joey them then?
  21. Not heard anything about this player. Anyone else?
  22. lol... Accurate though.
  23. Does anyone else have the feeling that West Ham will hi-jack Viduka and Barton from us? - We will sell Parker and end up without these two as West Ham have gone mad and they are offering silly money to everyone. Barton and Viduka are hardly the loyal types. May not happen, but can't help but think West Ham are will just offer more cash than us.
