  1. Chronicle today reckons this "super stopper" has turned us down.
  2. Of cuse the IMO is key, otherwise I wouldn't have put it in. You'll struggle to find many people who rate Emre over Geremi. And the centre function makes the midfield look too narrow there Agreed I'd like to see Luque and Milner have a half of so though.
  3. Since when was Emre an exciting prospect anyway? I think we'll beat them comfortably. Emre's more exciting than watching Butt, Dyer, Geremi or Solano playing central midfield, shirley? Not about the result really, as we keep hearing. I was expecting more out of Big Sam's first home game, is all. Disappointed with Barton/Owen being crocked more than anything. Geremi is more skillful and an all round better player than Emre IMO.

  5. I think he'll go something like: ----------------Given--------------- Carr---Ramage----Roz------Zog ---------------Geremi------------- --------Solano-------Butt--------- Martins----------------------Dyer --------------Carroll--------------

  8. Reckons we brought him over to sign him up, then changed our minds and asked for a 3 day trial instead. So he stormed off back to Spain.
  9. What a silly thing to say. Didn't you know Big Sam is the metatarsel equivalent of Dr Steadman?
  10. The way we started yesterday certainly looked like the more defensive version of the 4-5-1 system. It looked like Carroll was up top on his own with 5 across the middle. Oba right side, Dyer left, and Nobby in the middle Carroll was on the wing too much. It looked like him Dyer and Oba didn't know where they were meant to be playing.
  11. Yep, I fully agree. The players we've got are 4-4-2-tastic. Hope he doesn't try to fit 3 strikers in the team together just to keep them happy.
  12. Nah, hungover and cant be arsed moving my stuff to the new house.

  16. His nets down at the moment but apparently he recorded it. I'll post it when I get it.
  17. Is that from a reserve game at Kingston Park? Surely our squad aint that thin. What a joke. No mate, after the first XI that's all there is.

  20. Sam Allardyce's innovative training methods at Newcastle have led to problems. His vibrating muscle toner machines give players an uncontrollable urge to visit the toilet. (The Sun) From The Sun: BIG Sam Allardyce’s training methods have sent his Newcastle stars running to the loo. The new Toon boss has had vibrating Power-Plate machines — popular with showbiz stars — delivered to the club’s training HQ. But his first-team players, who get a full workout by standing on the platforms, say the shakes make them need the toilet. A St James’ Park source said: “The lads have joked it loosens things up downstairs. They stand on the plates for up to an hour, so try to make sure they answer the call of nature beforehand. “There’s no doubt about the fitness benefits, but last thing they want is an unexpected spot of Newcastle Brown.” The former Bolton gaffer has also come up with a solution to Newcastle’s injury curse — emu droppings. He wants players to use a special oil produced by emus. Allardyce first introduced the oil at Bolton two years ago, with impressive results.
  21. Will that change in the next few years if they keep spending as they are?
  22. Idea nicked from RTG Whilst it is our obligation as supporters of NUFC to belittle the mackems as often as we can the historical fact remains that both clubs are one and the same. Both are very famous clubs; both are in theory very well supported clubs; both are very famous English clubs and both are loved with a passion that is rare to find in world football - bearing in mind that both are relatively unsuccessful in the modern era. We have a lot to be proud of in the North East of England - and 2 very famous and traditional football clubs are a very big part of this....or not? In my view, no other teams in the country would get the attendances that we do given our lack of silverwear. Would Man U or Arsenal got 70k if they didn't win trophies year in, year out? Would they fuck. Football is alive and kicking in the North East and it's great to see, and it's brilliant for the region.
