Lovely smooth legs

Who do we think has the worst beard?
-
And also, it seems that it's either welbeck or nothing at this stage. Get him in.
-
Don't see how people can turn their nose up at the thought of us signing welbeck. He'd offer ten times more than the current strikers we have in terms of pace and movement. Confident he would get 10+ league goals too
-
Can van dijk defend? Only clips I've seen of him are him passing it out and scoring goals. We need a big, strong defender first and foremost
-
So hatem's getting sold then? Or we're going to try to judging by pardew's interview there. Fuck's sake man, we were crying out for him second half
-
Commentator: coloccini, who was relegated on this ground with Newcastle. Owen: .............. First time he's shut up about his own career all match
-
If only we had some attacking quality sat on the bench. Or at home.....
-
At least joeyt got it. Thanks for the confirmation though lads

Does anyone know whether riviere scored more than Rodriguez and falcao at Monaco last season?
-
It seems so. One question from a fan and 5 second answer from Rob Lee before he got interrupted by Savage. Great feature
-
So they did a 2 minute segment in the chillingham and that's it?!

Despite plenty of hyperbole in all regards, neither of them are close to being as good a player as Santon IMO. Agreed, Santon is the much better player and gets some unnecessary stick on here I think. He's a big miss when he's not playing. Personally don't like Dummett at all either, would prefer to see Haidara given a go to see what he can do. We've seen what Dummett can do now and it isn't much.

Got to say I can't stand these posts where people say 'anyone who still goes to the match is a mug / idiot / not a true fan.' I know the club is run and managed by morons and is showing no ambition, but I still enjoy going to the match, I still want to go the match and I don't see how that makes me less of a soopafan or more of an idiot than someone who doesn't.

Looks to me like he will contribute well in holding the ball up, bringing people into play and working the channels. No doubt he will chip in with a few goals here and there too, but we've got to hope that De Jong is going to contribute a lot of goals too because I don't think this guy is going to be banging them in every week.
-
Well what a nice surprise this guy's cameo was! Looked really lively, positive and composed. He didn't seem overawed at all which, given it was his first game outside of the Spanish Segunda against the Premiership champions, was very impressive. Didn't think he'd get hardly any game time this season but it looks like he's ready to make an impact off the bench.

That Stifler post is amazing, cheered me up no end

The response to that should be 'we're a league above.'

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28609224 "We've not really had much contact with Loic and I don't see that evolving if I'm honest," added Pardew. "Whatever happened at Liverpool is irrelevant really, because he's had plenty of chances to come to us. "We've made it clear we'd want to have him but it hasn't really happened and therefore you sometimes have to say where is the line drawn. "Maybe that one has gone away." Not coming then, have we been linked with anyone else?

Has a proven record of never lying and/or spouting shit old Harry as well
-
From a bit of Dennis Wise scouting he certainly looks a good finisher with either foot and his head. A few examples of him beating a man with a bit of pace before scoring, and also a few where he basically makes a goal for himself from a long ball punted towards him, something which will probably serve him well here! If it goes through I'll be glad to just have another striker with a decent record in the squad to be honest. It's a much less riskier deal than spunking £12m on Enner Valencia that's for sure.

That is quite honestly the worst written article I think I've ever seen from a 'professional' journalist. It's just scandalously bad, I would have been disappointed to write something like that when I was 12.

I was there yesterday. Thought the first hour or so was pretty decent especially being the first game. But like often happens in friendlies it degenerated after both teams made multiple substitutions (Oldhams was like an ice hockey line change with 6 subs lined up to come on at once ) Bit worrying that de Jong, the only first teamer not to have been coached by Pardew, stood out to the extent he did, but the team that starts vs man city will be very different to last nights. Is everything going to go perfect and we'll give city a hiding? No. Is Pardew an incompetent baboon? Undoubtedly yes. But I can't bring myself to get all negative or upset about a friendly- I've got the next 9 months for that!!! Did De Jong stand out other than the goal? Any other notable performances?

Would be interesting if player stats were divided into stats under each manager they worked with. Would reflect the ability of the manager to get performances out of certain players, and also the style of play where the player fits in best
