And there we go, the private jet is back in Riyadh after her whistle stop visit to Newcastle. Whatever they've been doing it must have been an important or essential journey for a private plane to fly from Saudi to London, then Newcastle, then back to Saudi in less than 24 hrs, during a global pandemic.

Aye loads. I know the plane chat got a bit out of hand, but the facts are that a private jet flew from Saudi Arabia overnight, landed in Newcastle this morning, stayed an hour, took off again and is now approaching Riyadh.

What about if the planespotters only comment on the private jet that flew from Saudi to Newcastle this morning and is on its way back to Saudi now ? All other planes are off limits.

GLF5 still making steady progress to Saudi Arabia, where does it end up though, last night it was in both Jeddah and Riyadh before it flew to Stansted then on to Newcastle

For the last 10 mins I thought GLF4 was headed to Africa, but they're back on track towards the Gulf again now so all is well. At least at the end of today I'll have achieved something and will know how long it takes a Gulfstream 5 to fly from Newcastle to Riyadh. That'll come in useful for small talk at parties.

There's a different GLF5 that's heading north from Heraklion towards Athens. Our takeover GLF5 is heading towards Heraklion, hence the confusion.

It's definitely an odd coincidence that a private jet lands in Newcastle, stays for an hour, then flies to Saudi Arabia, whilst at the same time there's noise last night from credible sources that the takeover had shifted positively. I'd guess that a medical repatriation from Newcastle to Saudi Arabia is a pretty rare event.

So this morning I'm dragging my youngest kid out of their scratcher at 9am when I hear a plane and look out the window to see a private jet landing at Newcastle. Next thing I'm spend 8 hrs staring at Flightradar watching the same plane fly to Riyadh. Funny how life can take unexpected turns.

I thought the Gulfstream was heading to Heathrow, but they've flown straight over and are still going south east in the direction of Riyad. It was only in Newcastle an hour, but that's enough time to hand over some keys. :frantic: :frantic:

That's the one that flew in from Stansted this morning. There was a Dassault private jet this morning that took off from Teeside, then circled Scarborough a few times, then went out over the North Sea doing random loops before flying back in. I was fascinated by it. I really need to sort my life out.

It's likely a Medevac aircraft - https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/hz-ms5b Photograph shows the words "Saudi Medevac" on the side of the aircraft. Doesn't mean it couldn't be used for what we'd like, but is more likely a medical flight. I had a look on Flightradar and it came up from Stansted. Any plane coming into land catches my attention at the moment, the skies are so quiet and it's provides a bit of excitement in the endlessly repetitive days

My cousin put a picture of the plane up as well as her child saw it and it’s been a while since they have seen a plane coming into Newcastle. I’ve made a thread on Twitter where I have explained that theirs not going to be a Saudi entourage coming into Newcastle to complete the deal or announce the takeover. Theirs no point in looking at private jets. Staveley and Jamie Reuben are unlikely to be using private jets to fly into Newcastle, and likely won’t come into Newcastle until after the takeover has been completed. Everything is going to be done by lawyers in London. I saw the plane over Tynemouth as it came in to land 4 x engines on the bird, which is unusual around these parts
