Newcastle United vs. Crystal Palace: 4/1/26 @ 15:00 (Sky Sports)

Two pairs for your feet and one pair over your wriggler, Red Hot Chilli Peppers style -
A disastrous period would be getting relegated and spending season after season in the lower leagues. A disastrous period is definitely not selling a useful squad player to satisfy some snide financial rules and then frustratingly he turns out to be very good at his next club. The problem with management analysts is that they’re management analysts. And this is a football club we’re talking about.

Seriously man. Take a break. We’ll know if the Wissa transfer has backfired when he leaves NUFC, whenever and however that may be. He’s been here a few months and you reckon he’s backfired. It’s madness to think like that. If he scores goals that propel NUFC forward and plays an important senior role in the squad then the vast majority of people associated with NUFC won’t give a fuck how much we paid and how much we sell him for.

The bubble hasn’t burst, but demand over the last couple of months has definitely dropped off from the peak. For a variety of reasons, including the ones you mention.

It’s a football team. It’s about passion and triumph and failure and adversity and love and hate and good luck and bad luck and surprises and skill and graft and most importantly it’s about real people on the pitch, in the dugout, in the offices, in the stands and watching on telly. But you approach it like it’s commodities trading.

Brennan Johnson scored the winner in the cup final of a tournament that meant Spurs earned £26.5m in prize money and also got them back on the Champions League gravy train which allows them to rake in tens of millions this season. And their fans finally got to celebrate a cup win after 17 years. Which is priceless. And winning a trophy and being back in the CL also makes the club more attractive to potential signings and new fans. And silverware plus CL should help keep their current players relatively happy. So what if they’ve lost some money on his transfer, the big picture is far more important.

Not recently, I’ve seen a few pairs for the Leeds game and also spied a threesome yesterday I don’t think I’d ever seen a threesome before then I would have bought them for the sense of achievement, but I don’t have two friends

That’s fuckloads in my book given that until very recently you wouldn’t even see 43 tickets come up in resale over a couple of weeks, never mind 43 tickets available and just sitting there waiting to be bought Until recently some of us have spent day after day after day after day fingerblasting F5 and having to utilise the reaction speed of a cheetah just to try and hook a single ticket for a standard league game like today’s match -

Price also a factor, cheapest ticket is typically £55 and if you’re looking at East Stand or Milburn it’s £70-100 To watch us play Palace or Leeds just after Xmas in the league, it’s a fucking piss take -

It’s happening due to a mix of both: lots more people with ST’s seem to not be going and selling their tickets, but at the same time there’s also less demand from members for those resale tickets. In previous seasons you’d never see the level of availability we’ve had recently. Am sure the shitty kick of times, volume of home games, poor atmospheres, winter weather and sketchy league form are all having an impact on interest from ST’s and demand from members. -
Currently much easier and a lot less hassle to get a ticket in the days before the game than it is to piss about in the 10am sales. Ain’t no denying.

If anyone fancies going today there’s fuckloads of tickets -
It’s easy to forget when he’s done very little of note in the last few seasons. Like I said in another post, got nowt against the lad at all but he’s been a long way from his best for ages now. I’d wish him well if he does leave. Seems like a good pro.

I’d say us and Villa were on almost identical trajectories. Both clubs were in a very shitty situation, both had been through relegations, Villa got their new ambitious owners a year before us, we’ve had our manager a year longer than them. And we originally wanted the manager they have, but he said no to us. Both clubs had been financially stifled by their former owners, both are historically “big” clubs but are now being stifled by snidey PSR rules. Both clubs now in mix for Champions League consistently. We’ve won a trophy. Am sure they’ll win one soon. We’ve even both switched from Castore to Adidas.
-
If you asked me to recall the names of every player in our senior squad, Willock would probably be the one I remembered last. Got nowt against the lad as his attitude seems decent, but he’s been anonymous for ages.

You’ve just done it again. Presenting speculation as facts because it fits with your opinions. I’m only speculating because it demonstrates that what TCD is extremely confident will happen, may not actually happen as there are other plausible scenarios available. Because life isn’t binary, it’s filled with possibilities. And anytime someone thinks they can see exactly what will happen, just pause to remember Isak and how his move to Liverpool played out. Football’s a funny owld game.

Geuhi might have come here for £60m, done an Elanga and been shite and we’d have lost money on him. Wissa might bang in 20 goals this season, propel us to some silverware and a CL qualification. And who will care if we lose money on him because he’s hitting the back end of his career. It’ll be irrelevant to fans and we’d still get a decent fee for a consistent 20+ goal a season striker. And so on. You’re talking about what you think would have happened and also what you think will happen, then presenting your opinions as definite outcomes. Life doesn’t work like that.

I’ve effectively boycoutted the World Cup since 1998 as that was the last time I was remotely arsed about it. World Cups lay bare the worst excesses of a game that has been swallowed up by capitalism, corporate advertising, shady backhanders and greed. And this year in particular the last thing England needs is another reason for racists to be able to get their St George Cross flags out by latching on to a World Cup. I’m not an England supporter and I cringe at that fucking stupid brass band. And generally the fans of all nationalities in stadiums at World Cups are the very worst type of plastic gimps. And I fucking despise hearing Three Lions. That daft fucking song needs firing into the sun. TL;DR I’ll watch a few specially selected games because I love it when the camera zooms in on the honeys in the crowd wearing tiny football shirts.

People criticise Eddie for buying overpriced Premier League experienced players then we get Man Utd given as an example of a team who’ve sorted out their failing transfer strategy because they paid massive fuckloads for PL proven Cunha & Mbeumo and bought Sesko who cost massive fuckloads and has done fuck all so far

Villa can’t keep scoring from shots. It’s just not possible to maintain the tactic of shots leading to goals. They’ll have to stop scoring from shots at some point.
