The fact we didn't get out quick to Eze after two warnings in the space of a few mins is absolutely criminal. I know it ultimately falls on the manager but is not one of those players switched on enough to adapt to something in game?
-
Irrelevant if we score. We look like conceeding all the time.
-
Seriously why are we having to endure watching Dan Burn vs a speedy winger in 2026. It's asking to concede every time they attack down his side.
-
Gonna be a hard watch seeing Burn struggle out there today.
-
So much for playing burn for his height
-
So they left him open again after the warning. Genius.

Ugh Everton, do everyone a favour

Yeah I mean there's a stark difference between battling relegation all season and a team that is already safe, having nothing left to play for and just downing tools for the remaining games. We ourselves have taken advantage plenty when we had something to play for in past seasons in the last few games when likes of Fulham, Brentford etc were already on the beach. Yes it's awful and on paper and finishing 16th/17th looks horrific, but let's not try and twist the narrative like we were ever in danger of going down or have been in any kind of relegation battle. We were in the latter stages of all 3 cups we were in, and up til the last few games, in the hunt for European places still. The wheels have come off spectacularly and the team is now just limping to the end of the season. Not acceptable and poor from all involved to allow that to happen but plenty of context to be applied if we do finish 16th/17th.

If this isn't a 4 or 5 nil loss I'll be stunned. Arsenal couldn't have hand picked an easier opponent to kick start their push for the title.

As bad as this league season has been, if we had just hung on to win in 2/3 games instead of capitulating late and turning wins into losses so many times, we'd have been sitting in 6th/7th right now. That tells me that it really doesn't take a lot to finish ahead of most in this league. Said it for awhile but it felt like the only thing separating us from the rest of the pack last season was that we had Isak up front. Take him away and we would fall back and could finish anywhere from 6th-14th. What I didn't anticipate was us falling apart so spectacularly like we have post CL elimination and that it now looks like we won't win another game. If we had beat Sunderland and gained some momentum towards the end of the season we would have comfortably finished top 6-7 and the whole complexion changes. Sadly it went the other way and we now face an uncertain future for the manager and many of the players who seem to want to leave.

Weirdly I think based on remaining games and possibly if Rodri is injured for City then I still think Arsenal win the league and Spurs stay up. Arsenal will batter us this weekend to boost morale and goal difference. Which will help them gain some momentum for remaining games. Spurs will beat Wolves especially now they are already relegated and what little fight they had for a few weeks has now fizzled out. Which will give spurs the boost they need to get points in other games also.

Spot the difference. Vs

Yeah I've been thinking Arsenal's bad form, whilst making things very worrying for them right now and having the media and other fans laughing at them, has actually come at the right time if they can snap out of it and win their remaining games. City have come good and put a massive run of results together to close the gap to even after the game in hand. But they need to go again now and win all the remaining and they have a few potential banana skins in there, plus have FA Cup fixtures coming up as well. They may have peaked early if Arsenal don't slip up now. But in current form you could imagine Arsenal's heads might go and they could drop more points unexpectedly now. But it won't be against us. Can see a comfortable 4 or 5 nil for them.

That guy from Geordie Journos didn't come across great it was probably a good question to ask to be fair to him but when Eddie pushed him to elaborate more by on change of style you could hear him panic and was like "erm like more passing style".

I think this is recency bias. Barnes for long periods was far more effective than Gordon as a left winger and lots were begging him to be played their instead of Gordon. But it seemed there was a reluctance from Howe to play Gordon on the right because he didn't want to. However Barnes' form ironically dropped off a cliff once he finally started getting starts on the left this season. There were plenty of times Gordon wasn't bothering his arse to track back when playing on the left, staying down and pretending to be injured when he hasn't been touched. Whether he was told to stay forward by the manager is a different question but to the eye he wasn't tracking runners etc. Having said all that, once moved back to the striker role after the first failed attempt earlier in the season hisnform has been strong and gave a lot for the team. He is still an asset regardless of his attitude or his fluctuating form. He will be a big miss if he goes of course.

Be a bit of a travesty if Arsenal beat either of PSG or Bayern in the final.
-
Olise is like Robben reincarnated when he cuts in and shoots.
-
Was thinking the same. Surely the viewing statistics can only be arsenal and sporting fans. This game is like basketball. Awful defending but great viewing.
-
Has to have been shit in training and a bad attitude around staff to have not been involved more surely? Otherwise it's bizarre we haven't tried to use him more and play him into some sort of form. It's in our interest to see if he has anything about him or of he can be of any use next year. Must have pissed Howe off somehow.
-
we could definitely do with some more left footers in the squad, especially as a right wing option to cut inside.
-
This feels dangerous from PSG, especially in this weather if they get a scrappy goal. They are totally dominant and the crowd are getting increasingly involved.
-
That szboz push on Doue was really dirty. Maybe not a red but he's taken him out the game with dangerous play and he was having a good game Doue.
-
Would be top of my list of players we can't sell. Has a really high ceiling still and is going to keep improving.
-
Crikey, didn't know Carrick was gonna be one of those blame everything else, woe is me type managers.

Seasons done. Today was last chance to stay in the mix, but too many teams ahead of us now to finish top 8. There is a big difference when there is still something to play for, but now the majority of our players now will be in self preservation mode looking to secure their transfer elsewhere in the summer or staying fit for the world Cup. I predict a bleak end to the season now with a very negative cloud over the club heading to the summer unfortunately.
